As a very casual and noobish player, I'm really enjoying this mode! Playing in Expert is very challenging in some maps and I'm having a good time tying to figure out new strategies. Still, I think they should explore this mode with even more possibilities, like have us choose our legend and each one have specific blessings/perks. Also, know more about some stories of our heroes of Campaign after the Fall of Trident in the 10 years before Age of Titans. I'm really happy with the game right now and as a casual who really struggles in competitive, this keeps me in the game for a long time!
The Arena of the Gods achievements refer to "episodes", so it seems like they intend for this to be an ongoing mode and that the first 2 pages are just the first episode.
i struggled for an hour in some matches because the longer ou wait the harder it is to break through and you speedrun this and the automaton trick is so good
First page getting that free army is a lil too op I think. Works good for people like me who just focus on econ and then find themselves being raided with no military buildings made, but for any rush's it just seems otp. Second page has way more fun gimmicks that change the longer you play, so I think you'll enjoy that a bit more. Obligatory ad watching for all the games you played Gaia :')
That does make me really sad. Especially since this is basically a skirmish but with superpowers, unlike the harder campaign missions which were a bit more gimmicky (meant as a compliment). It was harder to find better strategies for that, which is why I think there were so many complaints. If this version was "too hard" you could either pick a different god or different blessings... or play with a friend. My example is purely anecdotal, but I wasn't able to do mission 17 on Hard the first time around, but I can easily 1v2 on Expert with the 2 hero blessings plus Kastors elite guard. Haven't tried the 1v3 yet, am a lil nervous. My point is that having a difficulty that's considered "too hard" in a mode like this would play off perfectly by making you switch off different blessings or using a different god when available. If you're right in that they took that feedback from the campaign and made this version easier, I would find that to be a mistake. My opinion means nuk and I'm shouting into the void but I wanted to drop my 2c somewhere. Chur
I found the first page so easy that it was a bit disappointing. The 1v3s and the final boss match in page 2 are a bit more engaging and challenging, though. Eager to see how it progresses in terms of content and complexity with time.
I haven't finished it, but the first few felt so easy, even on extreme. I don't know if it's bugged or something; it felt the AI just did nothing half the time
w atlanteans yes, but on certain maps it is fun to try and 1v3 with other comps w the human soldier regen perk. Pretty sure that stacks on berserkgang and thracian for some funny armies
@@benbai5808 I'm so bad with any other civ, but I do wanna try Norse with 70% extra damage, 15% lifesteal and maybe the 40% less train time? I can't remember what the other blessings could be. I did that with Oranos but found the lashing roots + movement speed to just be wayy too powerful to do anything else.
Must say Arena of the Gods is rly disappointing. I just started rushing all the AI and that's it. Second page became bit harder, especially if you face 1vs3 on extreme, still... it could have been so much better. Would have taken the Chinese instead.

If you remember, they made titan difficulty on the campaign pretty hard, and so many people complained that they nerfed half the missions.

31:58 the word retinue basically means a group that follows a specific person or ideal mostly or person or leader. Kinda like a crew or band
Yes, like the Queen's retinue, or a king's retinue for instance!
I hope there will be page 2 too, the next page is tad harder, hope to see tips and tricks from master Boit playing solo.

the penutimate level on extreme is fucking impossible

Excited to see how you do 19.b ghost lake
Update your advanced tooltips mod to get accurate info on what the blessings actually do :)
The map doesn't generate differently every time you open it? I though that was the idea
Arena of the gods is super casual power fantasy
