Been playing this game since launch and I love it. Was top 100 in solos and trios both for awhile. Its kind of like if someone mixed a fighting game with Apex Legends and I love fighting games so its right up my ally.
It’s cool to see how battle royale games are still adding new twists to the gameplay. Have come a long way since the BR games of old... Looks like an awesome game!
Saw commercial. Looked up game. Kira uploaded 2 hrs ago. This looks so fun and exactly like the kind of multiplayer combat i've been looking for. This might be one of those games that you didnt see coming and SLAPS.
It's a good take on BR, pretty unique 'n skillbased. As long as they can't build a mansion around themselves or snipe me from a mile away I'm happy though, lol.
I honestly really like Naraka. I've been playing since launch and while I only play casually, man i've just had so much fun. The combat feels fair and responsive and the visuals and sound design are honestly incredible. I saw folks complaining in comments about lots of things that i honestly haven't experienced in my time with the game so far (abundance of laggy players, flying Tarka, etc.) so obviously your experience may vary. Also, speaking of comments, i'm fucking tired of seeing so many people being racist about games made by Chinese/Korean devs. Be better, people. Holy shit.
@@Lucky_Limes IMO the baseline game design is almost genius level with also good execution. Devs seem modern, they read and even surprisingly respond to community posts sometimes. But then again, you can notice some differences in how they do things, what to focus on etc. which seems to get some people really triggered because it's not 100% what they'd expect from a western developer, like, having this really narrow mindset of how things should go and otherwise it can't work and the game will be complete failure, instead of trusting they may know what they are doing. I hear that Chinese have different meta, basically when there are separated communities from completely different cultures, it's no surprise they would come to different conclusions, leading to changes that feel off. For example, everyone on reddit hated Longsword toothpick combo, but after a few patches later of adjusting almost everything but that, fishing that one combo feels much less prevalent overall compared to other options. Other ground options, including the dumb combo are viable situationally now, and the air combo less so. Narrow-mindedness or racism, kind of the same thing here, which is natural anyway. But it would still be a shame if a great game fails to be picked up because of being Chinese.
@@Hagosha to be fair, many people are just prejudiced against the country, not the people inside it. like how it's fine to not like the chinese government, but still like chinese people.
A couple things Kira didn't really showcase here: the grappling in this game is insanely good and you can grapple other players as well! You can even do cancels like in a fighting game to move more quickly, it's got some apex-like movement. The only reason I stoppedplaying this game for a bit was because my friends suck at it (lol) and they wanted to do something else. Also, it is true that there are laggy chinese players, but tbh since you have attacks that hit a wide area, a lot of the time you just hit them anyways even if they're teleporting. You can also target lock with grapple. Honestly guys its 15 bucks just try it.
yeap the biggest factor is having friends or a perma pt to play with since finding a good synergy team is less likely. Since I'm mostly paired up with chinese and ppl who can't speak English. language barrier and no communication ruined it for me. I don't play solo since I'm more of a team player.
I clocked in 50 hours in the first couple weeks it came out then stopped playing. 3v3 queue is hella fun with a group of friends. The game has a high skill cap baiting charged attacks, to counter in where they drop their weapon and you're able to complete a full combo on them. One thing I did complain about is the spear combo which is unbreakable and long (you can not counter this), probably the most broken thing at the time I was playing. I'm not sure if they nerfed it. What I will say is when you are in the zone and in combat it is amazing, so much impact in movement and damage. The jadestones upgrades are a really decent system works as intended and found no issues with it. It clearly impacted combat and you could feel it The match making if you don't reach 1k elo up you may be playing with bots. That's okay it's to slowly ease you into the combat pacing and how you play and it doesn't take too long for you to reach that elo. Solo is freaking hard but if you enjoy being a lone wolf its quite fun, clearly outplaying your enemies. Will say you will enjoy this game 9/10. Some weapons are stronger then others but that's up to the devs to balance. Combat: 10/10 Movement/Systems: 10/10 working as intended Graphics: Pretty Waifu's Balance: 8-9/10 Overall you will have fun
this game is awesome to watch. I would never play it but I really hope it somehow makes it big (skill barrier / learning curve too high). Thanks for the video on it!
the learning curve is high yes but if you watch a movement tutorial and a cancel animation video in youtube witch takes less than 10 minutes you can make the game much more easy since those are the core mecanics and theyre are not that hard to learn
Naraka has players that have spent 1000's of hrs. They animation cancel, and do all sorts of advanced movement techniques. you can create your own combos, and new ones are always being discovered. It gets really crazy. Once you get beyond bronze is when you get real players. There's plenty of players that once they get one hit in, it's over
I always have trouble with competitive melee combat games because the meta that forms around them rarely involves mastery of the animations themselves as tools but often in the mastery of cancelling animations and using jank to get speed and distance advantages over your opponent. It's very impressive to see people teching in fighting games or Dark Souls, don't get me wrong, but the fact that it's abusing the game's inability to reflect what human beings move like in reality leads to it feeling less like a fight and more like an equation. When I would play a game like this, it would be so I could feel like I'm doing martial arts, not so that I can see a character glitch wildly at me while my health goes down and I have no ability to react unless I watch videos about animation cancelling.
My biggest issue with hero based games, which i otherwise absolutely love, is that the meta is almost always gets dominated by either ranged heroes who are really good at kiting, or by overloaded heroes with too much versatility crammed into the kit. If Naraka has ranged heroes, im worried that will inevitably happen which is whats keeping me from playing it.
As someone who doesn't play BR games at all, I'm in love with Naraka. Just feels intense when someone needs to actually approach you for the kill instead of sniping you from a camp.
For me, this game went from a “oh that looks quite cool, I might give it a go” to “oh shit I’ve got to try this” with 2 simple words… “handsome squidward” 😂🤣
@@KiraTV1 Was mostly the feedback from bugs and exploits being totally ignored, so all of those became standard practice in every game mode. From infinite stunlocks to literally flying around the map with infinite jumps, which were very widely addressed by the community. Latency issues were never resolved, resulting in a very poor hit detection system that causes hitboxes not to connect at all, leading to the counter mechanic being incredibly inconsistent along with ghost hits that would cause combos and counter-attacks to drop entirely. (Think Dark Souls 2 but for a battle royale) It's a fun game, but the higher your MMR gets, the more likely it is for your opponents to abuse bugs to cheese an encounter so they can win the match, and it gets less and less fun the more people figure out how to break the game for me at least.
@@KiraTV1 Devilman user described it correctly and the thing that drove me mad was this kind of strange behavior where your moves are set in some sort of sequence where when you start, you can't stop or change your route anymore. So, If a enemy jump back and decide to attack you from another angle, you keep doing your moves forward, without any chance to defend yourself, while the enemy can attack and kill you just 'cause he decided to step aside from your initial attack. @@Robugin Isn't that the basis of any fighting game that you get locked into animation and can't change until it's done? And if enemy dashes to your side, of course your frontward facing attack is going to miss (it's going to miss due to the i-frames anyway). Makes complete sense to me.

Honestly its a nice change of pace and a real fluid combat. Overall with a decent team its a dope game to play and can be a great challenge. The biggest thing is also each weapon has a counter part and will be almost useless to it. That's why the backpack is clutch, but once you get used to the combat mechanics you stand a better chance of out performing the weakness as long as the person your fighting.
I played this not too long ago. I generally don't like br games but I quite liked this. The only reason why I'm not playing it right now is because there's other games I wanna play right now.

Longbow is sniper. But it won't kill you if you take cover after being hit, and it's not hitscan anyway so quite hard to hit on moving targets. I quite like the balance of engagement and chasing. One starting with ranged weapon can gain some advantage, but grappling hook is strong too which puts ranged weapon at risk, alternatively, you can go heal around a corner. From long range, the grapple works as a gap closer with equal opportunity, but from close range the stun is enough to give a free attack, so from melee there's no point in running unless you use the terrain or have some escape skill (most annoying thing). But as long as you have spools, you can chase almost forever with grappling hook.

This looks pretty cool. One question do you lose the weapons & gear after a match? Or, you can use whatever you looted on that character the next time you play them?
I'm SOO glad this is not a "review", thanks for not doing a review of a sponsored game, I feel like most people miss this important distinction, def checking this one out.
I played since beta it's the only modern BR that brought me back since the old ones(WC3 mod maps). I don't really hate FPS games it isn't my cup of tea. I could win some but playing with only ranged weapons is kinda stale. With Naraka its more leaning to melee combat and group play especially making a comeback is even more likely if you're skilled. carrying various weapon types brings more counter play. I'm more comfortable using swords when up against great sword users. Spears did ruin the balance but bringing a back up weapon is good. Since perfect parry disarms your opponent. Reading their nxt move is more important than mindlessly spam whatever u have.
I went on Steam to buy this. Left buying 25 49-59 cent games, 4 mmorpgs i dont own that were under $5, and every Zaxtor99 game I dont own yet. I forgot to actually buy this one.

I literally only got it when I saw Yoto Hime was the crossover onto this game. It's alright. Not bad. Still think the Chinese should just play on their server.
Naraka hit it on point with the horizontal and vertical attacks and the combat builds off that mechanisms. If only the game was like a team v team in an arena instead of free for all / BR. unfortunate...
Naraka is a great BR with very good combat. However, all that is thrown out the windows when all your matches are against Chinese nolifes withy 2000 ping
Sadly, mantisco (hunters arena legends) invented these kind of battle royale with similar waifus to get But neteasd just copy paste every bit of it, with additional feature.. Because their name is well known.. Hunters arena legends will die soon

Gameplay is good. NA is plagued by lagging Chinese players. Do not buy this unless you want to get stun locked by a teleporting player. The player base on steam is all Chinese. Don’t promote this garbage
I played the game for a long time, but eventually had to quit. The devs do not care about any of their playerbases besides the Chinese playerbase. They dont care about NA and EU servers at all.
i get u sponsored so u wont say anythign bad , but game is infessted by lagging Chinese players which make the most matches unplayable. Most of it playerbase is from Asia
i love you! but that was too much, check yourself..just a feeling, I think you were too emotional on this one. otherwise keep up the good work! be it "this that and anything" your veiw is the best! I truly wish you the best! coming from a mmo gamer.
A game that has a ton of potential but has devs as competent as BHVR (makers of Dead By Daylight) when it comes to balancing and creating a fun and fair experience. In other words, a waste of time. For every bug people find and abuse, another is found when they finally decide to patch the others after months. I'd rather play arena in Dark Souls than waste my time on this game anymore.
I have to say I’m rather disappointed in seeing your video. While your review is pretty spot on as the game is actually really good mechanically, you somehow failed to mention the extremely huge and absolutely impossible to miss fact that plagues it - chinese players using vpn to play on EU servers, which causes them to lag horribly and gives them such an advantage which makes them borderline unbeatable. Kudos on receiving a sponsorship, but as an honest reviewer you should also focus on the downsides, especially when they are so game breaking.
For you to be disappointed in me not mentioning something you first have to make the assumption I experienced the thing I didn't mention. An assumption I can tell you is wrong. I didn't experience that and thus I can't talk about it. Nothing to do with being honest or not honest and you framing it that way predicated on an assumption is pretty wild.
@@KiraTV1 Fair enough, you said you've played for 12 hours, which was in my experience long enough to encounter them, also at 7:35 I could see you were in a party with people with chinese names. At 9:30 you can actually see the icon for connection issues showing next to the player. Doesn't really matter as you said you would probably keep on playing so you will definitely encounter the issue, the steam discussions are booming about it, I just hope you will post a comment about it after you do.
@@nil7118 Its quite simple actually, they use the vpn to bypass chinese restrictions and trick servers to allow them access to EU/NA servers. The vpn connection somehow gives them a high ping making them appear with breaking (teleporting) animations and impossible to read/parry focus shots, which in a game which is mostly based on precise combo/parry mechanics simply destroys the skill involved. I could play on their servers with a vpn on, but why would I? That defies the entire point of the game.
you and peon got paid for this which is great, but cmon neither of you noticed you played against bots? tought you were the guy giving honest reviews here.

carrying various weapon types brings more counter play. I'm more comfortable using swords when up against great sword users. Spears did ruin the balance but bringing a back up weapon is good. Since perfect parry disarms your opponent. Reading their nxt move is more important than mindlessly spam whatever u have.
I hope it's still on sale
Not a fan of the PvP BR vibe, but looks like a good game.
I went on Steam to buy this. Left buying 25 49-59 cent games, 4 mmorpgs i dont own that were under $5, and every Zaxtor99 game I dont own yet. I forgot to actually buy this one.
Fixed. Purchased it. :)
i played this when it was open beta was ok fun. then they slapped a $30 AUD price tag on it and i said fuck that
I knew this was sponsored. You're supposed to disclose that bit in the description or something as well, you know.
It is disclosed in the video , I say it , I show it, UA-cam shows it and the description shows a referral link. Of course you knew it was sponsored, I didn't hide that lmao
@@KiraTV1 I didn't see the part in the video because I use this extension that skips stuff like that. I was and still am correct that the title doesn't show it though.
The title doesn't have to show it. If you're skipping the sponsored segment then you're also skipping the disclosure it is sponsored, so you have no right to complain you don't hear a disclosure of sponsorship at that stage.
@@KiraTV1 I forgot UA-cam tells you the bare minimum things to do so the FTC doesn't come after you. I see.
This is literally from the FTC guidelines but keep talking about my job as if you know more than me dude, really clever. Stick in your own lane.
I believe I watched this too soon after waking up.
While describing item quality I heard "Why Twitch is the worst." instead of "White, which is the worst"
I was confused until my dumb brain caught up.
Both true
@@KiraTV1 Oh. Hey. I didn't think this'd get read but I'm glad my dumb brain confusion warranted a reply. Love the content otherwise. Thanks for existing.
Is there pve with a good story and lore?
What other things does this game have besides battle royale?
no pve at all, besides the bots you find in some MM games. There's a free for all fight mode and BR modes
@@KiraTV1 Oh well, not my type of game then.
I've only played since launch so no idea how it was in beta but I like the gameplay, style, graphics, etc. Not sure how the cash shop factors in.
So... budget Nioh with br?
This one is for the engagement because you are worth it. 😘
Looks very beautiful, but be is a HARD PASS 4 me
Yo Kira, you should really check out the "Islandverse" video, it's s roast of Facebooks "Metaverse" it's good fun and would make a good video I'd say :)
I literally only got it when I saw Yoto Hime was the crossover onto this game. It's alright. Not bad. Still think the Chinese should just play on their server.
most of the Chinese players are in America tho.
If you ever played an old Xbox game called Iron Phoenix, Naraka Bladepoint basically copied a lot of elements from it, which is not a bad thing.
Great game but dead community considering it's a BR
bit late to this one aren't you? shit's been out for months. also I wouldn't say is specifically waifu, there are 6 characters, 50/50 male and female.
Sadly, mantisco (hunters arena legends) invented these kind of battle royale with similar waifus to get
But neteasd just copy paste every bit of it, with additional feature..
Because their name is well known..
Hunters arena legends will die soon
Hot waifus with deadly combat abilities?
I'm listening...
love the game... hate the bots...
oh this is a new game? hope it fun one :D
KiraTV: its a PVP battle royale game
................ya no sorry KiraTV the mint you say its a battle royale game i dont watch the video just jump the comment and say what in my head and move on
i dont like battle royale games is not my thing but if you like it well good for you
I grabbed it for free on my ps5 and plays well although im not very good at it.
Cool sponsor though Kira.
Not my type of game, I dont like pvping ;however, I am glad you got a sponsor ; it looks great though for being 14 $
Imagine, League of Legends doing they're version of this game...lol
MmmmmYus. WaifuCumbat for the yt gods
Gameplay is good. NA is plagued by lagging Chinese players. Do not buy this unless you want to get stun locked by a teleporting player. The player base on steam is all Chinese. Don’t promote this garbage
I'm in EU, I didn't have a single problem you described
I played the game for a long time, but eventually had to quit. The devs do not care about any of their playerbases besides the Chinese playerbase. They dont care about NA and EU servers at all.
i get u sponsored so u wont say anythign bad , but game is infessted by lagging Chinese players which make the most matches unplayable. Most of it playerbase is from Asia
I haven't experienced that so I can't speak about your experience only mine
Another BR, I sleep.
Once you start to get good at this game it is amazing, i havent had a rush like i got from this game in a long time.
If it wasn't a BR I would have tried it.
i love you! but that was too much, check yourself..just a feeling, I think you were too emotional on this one. otherwise keep up the good work! be it "this that and anything" your veiw is the best! I truly wish you the best! coming from a mmo gamer.
What?
not a fan of pvp games but att least it looks good :) not for me but looks nice
No thanks i dont want to Support the Chinese goverment with bying this. #FreeSpeech #KeepTaiwanFree #FreeUigures.
Boring, unbalanced garbage is what it is.
Stay away from this game. It should be called naraka grapple point
Are seeing dislikes back?
Lol the game died after a week or so and they now paying people to talk about it again xdd
Except it didn't. The game has ~150k players online, the same amount as a month ago.
You are not good at making commercials Kira :)
Whys that?
game should be f2p, theres no way im paying for a battle royale lol
I have to say I’m rather disappointed in seeing your video. While your review is pretty spot on as the game is actually really good mechanically, you somehow failed to mention the extremely huge and absolutely impossible to miss fact that plagues it - chinese players using vpn to play on EU servers, which causes them to lag horribly and gives them such an advantage which makes them borderline unbeatable. Kudos on receiving a sponsorship, but as an honest reviewer you should also focus on the downsides, especially when they are so game breaking.
Hmmm how is lag used by them? Are attacks recorded client side? You should play on chinese servers hehe
BR? Meh ... Good for you for the sponsored video tho
you and peon got paid for this which is great, but cmon neither of you noticed you played against bots? tought you were the guy giving honest reviews here.
