- If you have seen Patriot Games then you would now that we only use gear that we trust, so while out filming we wanted to take the time and talk about the new CFX3 75L fridge/freezer from Dometic. The CFX3 75L is the biggest fridge/freezer we have ever put into one of our camper trailers and we have designed the X3 specifically to fit this fridge/freezer with both internal and external access.

UPS delivered my CFX3 100 two days ago, I’m still mildly in shock, it’s huge. There’s no doubt if needed it will double as a small bathtub, lol. It’s just my two dogs and I when I head out into the backcountry in search of remote out of the way fly fishing spots but I usually stay out two weeks or longer. With my new bathtub I’ll be able to enjoy fresh food the whole trip. I no longer have to eat canned and dehydrated food.

I cant wait to see the x3 complete walk around its like the 5 star camper in my opinion looks absolutely amazing, also love the fridge, love this set up , I personally love everything about the whole set up of patriot campers it definitely provides for all walks of life.

The #cfx3 95 is the best, I've used it in the desert camp last week and didn't need any power for a week, thanks to the #Anker 757 with solar. all cooled and good.

Would anybody be able to tell me the biggest Dometic CFX you can fit on a ARB DRAWER system in a Ford Ranger Next Gen ?
We will be doing a dual drawer system,I have always also preferred Dometic Fridges and this will be the first time we've ever used the drawer system as we've always pre iouspy had 4wd wagons not 4wd utes ?

This would be a good modification to the X1 platform. It’s still the best design IMO.

christophe benjamin a lot! There is an OTR driver in YT that has his own channel and he carries the same unit inside his cab. He said he can go 6 weeks? I know it was over a month...without buying food. That’s 3 hots for 6 weeks! Already took mine out over the Colorado mountains. Love it!!! Enjoyed eating my ice cream while at my camp at 12656 feet of elevation. Get you one!

*My Engel MT45F-U1CD-P lasted 30 days until issues started. Engel sent me a power board but it didn’t fix it. I sent back and got another new unit. Within 30 days again it started having issues. The compressor would start for 3 seconds then stop for 3 seconds then start up. Total waste of time and money. I hope the Dometic cfx3 75DZ will not have issues.*
I am sure its a great fridge . Ill try it out when my Engel blows up. For the last 3 years my Engel has been sitting freely in the back of the hulix bouncing around while exploring the Vic High Country , lets see how long it last...
Don't hold your breath. Mine did that for 5 years in 2 Hiluxes and is still going strong. Now close to 20yo, Love my fridge. Don't like plastic or electronics.

Don't know about this latest line up from Dometic, but based on previous models it certainly does not make the list for the best 12v fridge brand. Go with Snomaster, National Luna or Engel if you don't want to waste your money. Here's an analogy: If you want the fridge equivalent of a shiny new car with USB ports everywhere, touch screen, apple/android compatibility and don't care about the engine or driveline...then buy a Dometic.
That's exactly why I buy Toyotas... I don't need all that extra crap just a rock-solid Driveline and I'm good
I'm on my second SnoMaster and have had nothing but problems. They've sold out and are China based/owned company now. Quality control is terrible and they've been cheaping out big time.
@@corey5675 That's unfortunate. Appreciate the feedback and insight which may very well lead me away from the brand when I'm ready to purchase my second fridge. Looks like I may need to buy another National Luna or one of the local Australian outdoor rated fridges such as ARB Elements or Norcoast Trailbrazer. Cheers

@@patriotcampers Thanks guys. Sorry, one more question. I read somewhere that the display turns off after a while...which you could look as a positive or a negative. Is there a way to force the display to always stay on with temp?

Depends on the size of your van, feel free to check it out online or contact Dometic. It's a Dometic CFX3 fridge freezer. In our camper trailers it runs off the power supplied by the trailer.

I got the fcx3 45. It’s a great but I don’t like that the exterior is seems like it’s made of that cheap phone covers. When scrapped the top layer comes off and you see the shiny layer underneath.
Let’s come back in 15 years and compare it to an Engel

Can't believe how expensive a portable fridge is, can buy a good quality home fridge for a cheaper price.
What a perfect trailer, i wish we would have comparable in Germany, but thanks to Green CO2 madness, travelling is more and more killed by the gouvernement. We miss traveling in Australia a lot, but with the weak EURO it is not feasable any more. Best greetings to your beautifull country.

Just connect the AC and DC cables to power sources together and watch the light and smoke show at full display. Hope these best-in class campers come with solid warranty and are adequately insured given this sub-standard cooler's love for causing a fire hazard. Though I doubt insurers cover boneheaded design decisions taken in China.

nah man more expensive and not as efficient as the ICECO VL60 with a Danfoss compressor, like a lot of things Dometic is overpriced
@Slippery Storm saw some over landers using them they had Dometic before they said they are better all around, they both seemed built about the same to me I don't own either I am looking to buy, domestic seems good if you want to pay extra to have a name brand, Iceco seems to be the reasonable better choice
There are many fridge freezer brands out there just as good if not better and hundreds of dollars cheaper. Overpriced.
