According to your 'story' he is immortal.. once his physical form died, he was left free in him immortal and immaterial self to arise to the heavens, or so the story goes.. if god reaallly meant for a sacrifice to cure us of the sin he caused in us in the first place, he would realllly have allowed a tiny part of himself, ie: jesus, to actually die.. a permanent death... that would have been a sacrifice... in the current story, he was tortured and then his body died, but HE did not die, as he is immortal and god... so his fleshly body, ie: his 'clothes' for lack of a better term.. or the vessel he was inhabiting died.. he did not..so not much of a sacrifice to me.. at least not enough to expunge the sin from billions and billions of people.. all of whom, supposedly inherited a sin from the first 'man and woman' who again, did NOT know right and wrong, UNTIL they ate of the fruit of the tree of knowledge of RIGHT AND WRONG... this was god's screw up, not theirs... they didn't know what was right or wrong UNTIL Eve, ate... and then Adam..
