    Видящи Тя висима, Христе,
    Тебе рождшая, вопияша:
что странное, еже вижу таинство, Сыне Мой?
Како на древе умираеши плотию водружен,
    жизни подателю?

You mean that we are united with Eastern Catholics. We are not united with the Eastern Orthodox. However, we share much in common with the Orthodox. Most notably, the sacraments are one and the same and we have mostly the same books in the Bible.

Thou Who wearest light as a garment.
Sretenskiy Monastery choir sings a part from Holy Friday (the burial of our Lord & Savior. Jesus Christ).
    Glory. Both now. Tone 5
When Joseph with Nikodemos took you, who are clothed with light as a garment, down from the Tree, and saw you a dead body, naked, unburied, he was filled with compassion, and raising a lament he grieved and said, Alas, sweetest Jesus, when a little while ago the sun saw you hanging on the Cross, it wrapped itself in gloom, and the earth quaked with fear, and the veil of the temple was rent in two; but see, I now look on you, who for me have willingly undergone death; how shall I bury you, my God? Or how shall I wrap you in shrouds; with what hands shall I touch your immaculate body? Or what songs shall I sing at your departure? I magnify your sufferings and I hymn your burial, with your Resurrection, as I cry: Lord, glory to you!

I wonder if Christianity resonates with people partly because it embraces the tragic side of life.

Of course, what else keeps mankind going through tragedy?

Yes and that love took him to the cross (love was not idle) to the grave (self giving sacrifice in the ultimate sense) and there he greets us (there is our encounter - not somewhere else) To have faith is courageous. Our trajedies are transfigured.

What kind of a sacrifice was this really? According to your 'story' he is immortal.. once his physical form died, he was left free in him immortal and immaterial self to arise to the heavens, or so the story goes.. if god reaallly meant for a sacrifice to cure us of the sin he caused in us in the first place, he would realllly have allowed a tiny part of himself, ie: jesus, to actually die.. a permanent death... that would have been a sacrifice... in the current story, he was tortured and then his body died, but HE did not die, as he is immortal and god... so his fleshly body, ie: his 'clothes' for lack of a better term.. or the vessel he was inhabiting died.. he did not..so not much of a sacrifice to me.. at least not enough to expunge the sin from billions and billions of people.. all of whom, supposedly inherited a sin from the first 'man and woman' who again, did NOT know right and wrong, UNTIL they ate of the fruit of the tree of knowledge of RIGHT AND WRONG... this was god's screw up, not theirs... they didn't know what was right or wrong UNTIL Eve, ate... and then Adam..
And, 'after three days' ... right... he 'died at sunset on a Friday, and by early morning on the Sunday, when the women (how many and who is up for grabs, as the 4 gospels have no idea) found the tomb empty.. so at most, he was dead for 2 days... nice try math wizards... hehehe
      have a nice day!! :)

I know being an obnoxious atheist know it all an UA-cam can be entertaining and that writing in ‘cutesyyy’ platitudes makes you giggle and feel real ‘clever’ and ‘smart’. But the matter of fact is that you are an unread ape who doesn’t even begin to understand the vocabulary let alone the arguments of serious Christians. Either that or you’re an up and coming stand up comedian, because your embarrassing excuse for a polemic was hilarious.
I’m not sure what was the funniest part: the ‘Son of Man becoming Incarnated and being Crucified wasn’t a sacrifice’ line, your pitiful understanding of the Christian concept of the Trinity, the Hypostatic Union, original sin, or the Jewish concept of counting days... hehehe
      bible.org/question/were-three-days-and-three-nights-jesus-was-grave-full-72-hours
Either way you’re doing a fantastic job exposing atheism for the pathetic display of narcissism and self worship it really is, keep up the great work spreading the good news of the gospel.
      Christ is Risen!! :)

@@@alahatzaifat1872 Ah yes, what is the sacrifice? What constitutes it and in what does it consist? A key in this is to question our assumptions. Within your polemic are many assumptions that you think comprise the Christian story. I will challenge you to consider that your framework is one that one I have rejected as well. Good news, you have rejected something that isn’t even Christian.
I will offer to you in the links below (please read the first article is both links if you like) what the historic Church has taught. No, you won’t find the one cited above by you (and what is usually cited by others - this is a product of the Reformation that limited the scope of the Patristic understanding to something not historically recognizable.)
In Christ, he was fully God, but he was also fully man. Reaching man (Christ is called Adam, which btw, *means* man! It’s not a personal pronoun) he restored man to the state of the first Adam. Christ is referred to as the Second Adam and Last Adam in scripture. (Both have their specific ontological meanings) As our friend JPR stated, you do have a fractured understanding of original sin and consequently of ‘inherited guilt.’ This is simply has nothing to with the Patristic Christian witness. Citing some of this would be helpful, particularly St Gregory of Nazianzus, but I need to cut this short.

Ah yes, the nature of the sacrifice. What constitutes that? The sacrifice; was it an offering *to* someone or was it an offering *of* something? Ask any mother with child of which sacrifice is offered. They would tell you the only possible answer that makes sense and _that_ is love. You have nothing to fight my friend.
