This is got to be the best Eclipse video I have seen from a News Network the way the camera looked up at the sky was phenomenal it was like being there
As good as this video was, nothing replaces actually being there. I was in Hopkinsville, KY for the 2017 eclipse, and nothing replaces actually being in the shadow cast by the moon.
Just fantastic!!! That solar prominence couldn't of been any more cool as heck to see!!! I've been a space nut since I was younger and this day was one of the best I can remember!!
I live in Columbus, Ohio and it was beautiful, it didn't get super dark but we seen the star right to the side of it. AMAZING It was funny that roosters started going crazy
This is great. Best video I’ve seen yet. Really captured the eclipse the way it was in real life. I even experienced the same feelings of awe while watching it as I did when I was actually there. Thanks so very much for posting this!!
"Red flame looking structures on the edge of the eclipse are not solar flares, but are actually called a solar prominence. Prominences are anchored to the Sun’s surface and extend outwards into the Sun’s hot outer atmosphere. The red-glowing looped material is plasma, a hot gas comprised of electrically charged hydrogen and helium." - James Bryant
Why is this so awe inspiring. I got chills just watching it. Maybe it is some kind of confirmation of the mechanics and size of the solar system and the universe? Also, a realization of how dependent we are on the sun.
Here in Northern California can only see partial with glasses. Otherwise just bright and no clouds. This is awesome. Saw total when I was a kid in San Francisco. It was weird. All dogs stopped barking, no insects flying no birds chirping.
best footage ive seen. we were out with glasses but only got 96 percent coverage. it was very hard to phone photo but when i held the glasses a half cm from the lens i got captures. then just as it was a tiny sliver the clouds enabled us to see it with our naked eyes and i got a shot of that too. so it was kinda cool. wouldve loved to see this wow.
Clouds broke just in time in my front yard in Round Rock -- almost as if the moon's shadow was pushing the clouds out leading up to totality. Immediately after totality, the clouds moved back in. Very eerie it did that: too perfect for coincidence.
A few days before, I bot a Panasonic base HD camcorder w/50x optical zoom and in Erie PA had the sun/corona/prominences filling the frame with spectacular full frame moving white clouds - even zoomed in on the 6 o-clock prominence where only half the sun was in the frame. Spectacular. Sharpness, magnification and clouds were all ideal. Then I realized I never hit the record button. It will take me weeks to get over this. Had 16x Russian Xenit gyro stabilized binocs too and the camcorder image was so fantastic, viewing thru them never crossed my mind. I may have to sell this cool little camcorder because every time I'll look at it, I'll be reminded of that day.
No camera can capture what we saw with naked eye. That white light from corona can’t be replicated. I had a good camera too but not the same as my experience of looking at it. So don’t fret. Hope you enjoyed watching the eclipse and the fantastic sight that was the carona.
@@sunheri189 The difficulty of using a camera are the exposure settings. Automatic focus and exposure are a formula for bad pictures. With DSLR, manual focus to infinity and some intelligent manual bracketing should work. You also need to expert speed at settings since you will need to make adjustments with the time limits of totality. Although I'll never see another one, I'd go video. If you really want to experience totality, you need gyroscopically image stabilized binoculars ( recommend the 16x Russian Xenits). Anything you watch with them is mesmerizing. My personal experience using them is an out-of-body feeling.
Thanks for clearing that up. I was in Austin and it was completely covered in clouds. We had to drive two hrs away to San Saba to see the eclipse and the carona. Amazing
Acts 2:19-21 [19]I will show wonders in the heavens above and signs on the earth below, blood and fire and billows of smoke. [20]The sun will be turned to darkness and the moon to blood before the coming of the great and glorious day of the Lord. [21]And everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.’
It was a disappointment in Kerrville and Ingram Texas; I was at the centerpoint of the shadow in Ingram Texas and the low cloud build ups ruined it for many people that had set up equipment to view the eclipsed. Lots of disappointments from them but kids were awed and heard them; we only got a glimpsed of the eclipse before the thick low clouds covered it again. WE experienced 4 minutes 30+ seconds of twilight darkness and the distant clouds reflected some sunlight at us in the horizon. Overall the darkness was like dark twilight before total night darkness.
I had plans to be in Kerrville but pivoted to NY a week prior. The day before I pivoted again to VT. My sons refused to pivot and got clouded out. Moral of the story, totality is no time for half measures. Don't be discouraged. If you are blessed with another opportunity, go all the way. It's well worth every inconvenience.
@@TheCrowDream I plan to see the 2045 eclipse which is closer to my city here in the southwest: Phoenix. I will north of us over Utah then northeast over Colorado. I will be in my late 80's and make an effort to go up there to see it. Hopefully have my mind and eyesight still intact.
Yes the eclipse was too commercialized so they were not telling people to leave their area covered in clouds and drive away towards some clearing. We were in Austin but drove off two hours to catch the eclipse complete with the corona. It was well worth it.
@@sunheri189 I was thinking the same of driving away from paying the $20 where I parked my vehicle. There was some clearing and should have immedietly planned 30 minutes before totality to drive away and find a gap between clouds but it was cloudy all over Kerrville/Ingram. Well I hope to be alive for the 2045 one that will sweep closer to my state: Arizona. It will pass north of my state and this one will last a minute longer. This one coming up in 21 years will be in the summer.
There can't be a moon at night on the day of a solar eclipse because the moon is between the earth and the sun (New Moon). As far as not seeing any stars, beats me... maybe it was cloudy where you are... 🤔🤷
Because our star (the Sun) is millions of times brighter so you can't see other stars during daytime. Also, the two "stars" the reporter was talking about in this video were actually Venus and Jupiter (other planets in our solar system), and their reflections are much brighter than distant stars.
What are the chances that our moon is the only one thats tidal locked with its planet and is exact size to perfectly block the sun for a solar eclipse. That thing was put there by someone or something.
If you missed this one you can predict the end of the world on... Aug. 2, 2027, a total solar eclipse will be visible in Spain and across a swath of northern Africa. After that, the next total solar eclipse will occur on March 30, 2033, but totality will be visible only from Alaska and Russia. On Aug. 23, 2044, an eclipse’s path of totality will pass over some of the U.S.: Montana, North Dakota, South Dakota, parts of Canada and Greenland. On Aug. 12, 2045, a total solar eclipse will once again trace a path from coast to coast across the continental U.S., similar to the one this year. And so on and so on.....
Are hppy to seen a cover other planet or awareness comein situation ..a calamity parted will or devastated thereat..hope not..be watchout a earthquake./ heatwave of sunset called sunlight to much likes fire...

@@jjk2one Not exactly, I live in the DFW are of Texas and it looked just like that when I seen it outside of my apartment.
Thank you for telling him to raise the camera! Great shot. That was awesome. 👏
Hey Chris, point the camera at the Eclipse!! lol
Man I wish I was in Texas, and this is the best solar eclipse I have ever seen
1:08 Perfect video settings! This is exactly what your eyes see.
Watched from Georgetown Texas. Seriously the coolest thing I've EVER seen
I like how excited everyone seems to be.
I saw the ring of fire right before totality began. It was awesome.
Crazy how you had to tell the cameraman to aim the camera up at the eclipse (the whole reason for the report)..
F.N.G.’s huh guys? Jeez.
Glory to God.
Beautifully filmed
I watched it right outside my apartment in Arlington, Texas. I've never seen anything like that, what an experience.
Yes! Right in my backyard in Waco!!
Watched from Wayne County, Ohio. Weather was perfect for it. It was crazy watching all the street lights and house lights come on. Felt so surreal
So beautiful 😮
Wow that was amazing to watch! I was watching the eclipse from Houston & I didn’t get full coverage so this was cool to see!
DAMN, NATURE... YOU BEAUTIFUL!
So cool!
Majestic and Beautiful! Thank you for sharing and directing the camera to be pointed at the sky.
The most amazing thing I’ve seen!! Here in Indiana
So glad I drove 6 hours to Unionville, IN to see it. Everywhere in Ohio was supposed to be partly cloudy but Indiana's weather was perfect.

Should have went north west … truly truly special moment
PLEASE release the raw footage in HD!!! This has got to be one of the best looking ones I've seen!
How great is God
Those flares were a massive sign for those with the eyes to see 💚
😂 what 😅
This is the best footage I've seen, thank you so much.

Not stars, that was Venus and Jupiter I believe.

Thank to share this story
One of the least hysterical reports I've seen. Nice job!
Looks pretty great with the clouds! The stars are actually Jupiter to the upper left, and Venus to the bottom right.
Thanks I got better glimpse here
Very well captured. Good job to the camera man and the reporter. This is the closest to what we saw in Cleveland.
The day the dark side of the moon got lit up
Those were not other "Stars".. those other stars were first Saturn, and then Jupiter..
I think I caught Venus on a pic!
Satan 😂
Wow! Wish I had driven up to llano! Everywhere else was cloudy

It is not a flair but just a prominence. Still really neat. ❤

So amazing .. thanks for this amazing footage !
Wow! Never knew we would be able to see solar flares!
Wonderful! Gave me goosebumps watching it. Amazingggg

DO NOT FORGIVE THEM; FOR THEY KNOW WHAT THEY DO.
I have a question, why do they call the back of the Moon the dark side?
Because that side of the moon *never* faces the Earth. The moon is rotationally locked so humanity only ever sees one side of the moon.
