    It's quite amazing what we have in our backyard eh! Without a doubt SEQ is the best place to live, everything is right on the doorstep and ready to explore. I'll be back to Jimna again for sure.... right after winter has finished 😉🤣

    Sorry Rob, (not) :)
    I had to look lol. You have invented Cottage Pie Stew there haha.
    Yeah you probably shouldnt have added the extra water for a start. Not sure if you did but you should have cooked your filling first, then just added the mashed spud after the filling was cooked. Then you remove the oven from the bottom heat and just finish it all off with lid heat only. Otherwise your filling can bubble up through your top as you found out lol. A sprinkle of cheese to help it brown up a bit doesnt hurt either.
    But as I always say, "You got to Burn to Learn" and Im sure you learnt a bit by having a go. And what a great camp oven recipe to cook up whilst out enjoying our beautiful bush.
    Keep it up, I look forward to seeing your next camp oven meal and your new Lid Lifter at work :), hopefully we will end up in the same camp sometime down the track and we could have a bit of a play with some ovens together :)
    Cheers

      Cottage Pie Stew!! Love it! My new signature dish! 😂😂 Yeah, have since learnt that cooking the filling first is the way to go! As you say, adding the mash after the filling is cooked is the winner 😀 Watching your show at the expo, I definitely learnt what you said about cooking from the top down... that had never crossed my mind!
      'Burn To Learn' is very true mate! Have wanted to master that dish for a very long time, a perfect winters camp cook-up I feel, and as I have heard you say... the Scottish were the masters at this, and a fitting dish to recognise that I feel. 😎
      Am looking forward to giving the Lid Lifter a go! Will be a game changer for sure! 👍
      With any luck mate, hopefully come accross you at a camp somewhere... and probably save me from starvation! 😂
      Cheers mate, Rob! 👍

      @@TheWandererAUS Will do Rob👍, I love jimna, I went there yrs ago with some friends. There used to be missing persons pics nailed to the trees, apparently they dissapeard in the forest. Some believe the yowie got them, and others believe they met with treacherous ends.. like going for walks and getting lost. Who knows, but i do believe that yowies are there, coz we heard a lot of what they call tree knocking. Which is something that yowies do to communicate with each other. One night when we were asleep we heard this spine chilling scream, like a woman in agonizing pain, which was terrifying, and then we heard and saw the park ranger running into the forest with a rifle and shooting something. To this day we never found out what it was🤔. I'm going back there in July this year, to hopefully have another adventure, but with a little less drama😉.

    Hi Rob, great clip mate, just a question, how do you feel about security when leaving your set up and going out. Cheers

    • @TheWandererAUS
      @TheWandererAUS  2 роки тому +1

      G'day Desmond... haven't really had any dramas so far when camping. If I don't feel safe, or feel as though there might be some undesirables around, I tend to lock most valuables in the car if I go for a bushwalk or something. There hasn't been many instances when I've been camping that I don't feel unsafe or worried about security, which has been great. Always go with your gut feeling, that's how I look at it. Thanks for the question mate... appreciate it! Have you had trouble in the past?
