@@AquariusTraveller Fantastic! Not what I expected, turned into a hike rather than a beach walk. Got some excellent photos and video footage - which I'm sure I can put to good use 🤣🙏
Not surprised by the snake, I hiked the great walk there and I have never seen so many snakes on a hike in my life. Car parks look like they can accommodate a box trailer in them, at least the site you picked did. Might look at getting the same one, looks angled in a way that you drive past and reverse back in yeah?
Yep snake scared the crap out of me at first...you should hear the original audio...lol. Been a while since I've seen one in the water and that great walk hike would have been awesome....I want to get to that artist cascades one day 👍😁 I saw lots of roof tents when I was there...they used the site for gazebos etc. A box trailer might fit but might be issue of where to put the car, might be sticking out too far. The park and with the bollards blocking the site, you can't use that space either. Some cars were borderline on the road as it was. They recommend anything towing to go across the road at camping site 4, only a short walk to the creek
It's looks a bit like the Neurum creek camping area. Some parks are long enough, some aren't. I have taken my trailer there but I know exactly which sites to pick. Maybe I should book one in each spot to cover my bases haha. About to check out your Finch hatton gorge video now, I filmed that last year when I did cape york but haven't created a video yet. I don't think I got enough footage of it. Beautiful place though
@@Beyondthebackyard-au Still yet to check out Neurum Creeek, will have to add to my list :) Finch Hatton is amazing, I have been there a few times, but a really time time ago and glad I got the opportunity again of recent ( mainly to show my partner, but too cold for him to get in..LOL) It was nice to go back and normally stop in every time I head up that way I'm hoping to do cook town this year, but will get to the cape another year....Still in discussions over the 4WD set up and sleeping arrangements with my partner hahah - tossing up between roof top tent or box trailer with roof top on it.
@@Beyondthebackyard-au Just looked up Neurum creek to see where it was - I was only at Rocky Hole a few weeks ago to check out the swimming and still looking good up there :)
If you were looking at doing the OTT I wouldn’t advise towing. People do, I just figure it adds risk. I didn’t even take my roof top tent as I was concerned about the corrugations and 60kg on the roof. Again people do, but I made it back without anything going wrong. And not much of a fuel bill haha. I hope to go back up there next year. (I did a video on Neurum creek - not a great one - but might help you pick a site).
We would love camping at Booloumba Creek, especially waking up to all of the nature sounds. The Goanna was really cool to see too. I don't mind snakes so much on land, but encountering one while in the water might freak me out just a little!
The snake freaked me out totally....not sure I've ever seen one in the water before. I was trying to film the clear water...which wasn't so clear at that time...lol. next minute...he was there. Lucky only small and was over all too quickly. The camping was pretty cool and the wildlife noises were hypnotizing to wake up to Thanks for watching guys 😁👍
Oh my goodness, I thought that was a Komodo dragon! I was like run Chris!!! The creek looked so beautiful! Snake in the water?! Oh my god... I would die there! Too many wild creatures... I’ll leave them be! That water is so clear! Gorgeous place!
I think the komodos are a bit bigger aren't they.... not sure....might have too Google to find out. This was just a goanna and loves eating eggs for low breeding animals. The snake scared the crap out if me for sure...you can hear me gasp and a small scream in the video...but it's all about the filming and gone very quickly. The water was so beautiful for sure... lovely place to visit but very crowded. I filmed at 6am to get the good footage ...lol.
Nice one guys! The Mitsu had no issue with that water, huh? WOW! King Daddy Swag was looking comfy. No thanks with the lizards and water snakes. EEEK! Audio adds for the snake drama worked a treat! ;)
Lol... yeah the pajero work good in the 4 wheel drive spots but I have seen silly people driving their tiny cars in. The swag was comfy..but we are thinking of getting some stretchers and using the same mattress...just to get us off the ground. Not sure yeah but still scoping options. I was so lucky to get the snake video...scared the crap out of me too...had to put the jaws theme music to it...thought it suited 🤣🤣 Thanks for watching Nate 😁👍
oh wow! You weren't kidding about needing a 4 wheel drive. I can't believe how deep the first creek crossing was. The price you guys paid isn't bad at all! The amenities aren't even necessary if you pack right or if you're not planning on staying for too long lol. Your tent setup looks amazing! We need to get a rain cover like that! I'm sure it keeps everything nice and clean 😊 OMG i have never seen a goanna!! It looks like a komodo dragon. Are they aggressive or mean at all?!? The water looks absolutely beautiful there! We have been to few places before where the photos showed insanely clear water but then you get there and people stirred up the mud and you can't see at all lol. Great video!! I'd love to visit there! 😍
Your the second person to mention the komodo....must be big in the US hey 😁. Mostly they will stay away from you but I'm sure they would give you a go if threatened. They search around for nest to eat eggs... not sure what else they eat
It was the first time we tried that set up...most the time we use the camper. The video prior shows that set up and a little more comfy. Plus it was more a luxury park Your right, you don't need much to camp and the simple set up if fine. Suited for the night at least 😁 The gazebo top is great ...stopped lots of trees branches etc falling on the swag...although it can be used on its own
The clear water photo I had to take at 6am before people stired it up...lol. when we first got there it was very cloudy...like the bit with the snake. Couldn't see much through the water then....maybe I would have seen the snake earlier and not scare the crap out if me...lol
6.75 per person per night is the same cost to stay at any national park bush camping spot in Queensland... other parks are more expensive. We had a toilet so just went without a shower for a night haha
This was my childhood camping spot where we would go, we still go there but it definitely is different these days, the bellbirds were always so prominent driving through the rainforest, They’re not as loud these days, Always saw snakes in the creek, but the water holes were also deeper 30 years ago, even at camping area 1 Yet the crossings weren’t, mum and dad used to take the kingswood through the crossings, everyone took normal cars through, One of my favourite places still 🥰
Wow...I can't imagine what it was like back then and omg... driving the kingswood...that's awesome 😁 Thanks for sharing your experience... really enjoyed reading it 👍👍
Hey there, Thanks for watching and appreciate the comment. We didn't change the pressure at all, especially to go to the camping spot. It's probably recommended if you're going to the Falls with the elevation, but would depend on the conditions at the time. ( we didn't change at all and this video was taken in March)
My last visit I saw a honda civic driving through....lol...... Not that I would ever test that out myself. It would really depend on the rainfall at the time of your visit, along with how much high clearance you have. As long as your not water logging your engine to stall. But keep in mind that the creek crossing is full of rocks and not a formed road, so it's easier to get stuck in smaller vehicles. You can stop and park before the creek crossing, just to check out the water level. Will also show you the other people driving through. There are some locals that will drive anything through! :)
Thanks for the question. It's not recommended for 2wd but guessing sometimes it's possible with low water. Although the with the roads covered with any water, you don't see the condition underneath. Not something I would do, but I'm sure plenty get in. If the water is low enough for a 2wd, I wouldn't expect the swimming creek level to be high, or the falls running that much. The roads up to the campgrounds would be fine for the 2wd, probably not to the falls though.

is there any 4wd tracks there or mainly just trails?
You need a 4wd to get to the falls...but more elevation and a rocky track...than intense 4wd.
Hi you reckon could access with a 2WD?

Go on a sunny day to any of the water falls holes and lagoons
Is it warmer?
I think we did the falls in Feb... creek in March.... thought that summer enough.... still cold so I guess not ...lol
