Love the chatty video… so fun to sit with a recipe book. I truly believe recipe books are indeed a form of family scrapbook. You may have to make a copy and gift it to Keira while she’s in high school. It will be cherished down the road.
Your last video you spoke about how your Mom prioritized making a healthy meal for dinner even though there wasn’t a lot of money. I feel that had a profound impact on you and maybe it’s the reason you have such a passion for cooking and it’s sorta of your love language. Cooking for the ones you love.
I think you are totally right - also I didn't really talk about it in this video but I spent a lot of time at my grandparents house as a kid and my grandma was always cooking too! She did a great job of including us in the kitchen, learning how to bake and wash dishes :)
Chunky chef....I laughed out loud with you. That's what I call myself! Loved the video as usual. I have a recipe binder, but I never thought of removing recipes I don't use. 😂 Looking forward to the rest of your Vlogmas videos!
I adored Shelly's Home Life! Miss her so much! I make several of her recipes still too. This was such a great video! I loved how casual it was and the interaction with your daughter. Good to see you back! Happy Vlogmas!
Hearing you and your kids laugh is so lovely, have a great Christmas Jen. I’ve been watching for years and I’ll continue for many more. All the way from Australia ❤
I really enjoyed this video! Thanks for sharing your favourite recipes and your binder and how you keep it organized. I have one too and love it. I agree, it is a like a scrapbook. 🥰
Thank you so much for sharing this! I have to organize my own binder and having a workflow presented expedites that process greatly! You're killing it! I'm blaming you for making me feel productive on a Wednesday morning!
My mother in law does a brick of cream cheese, can of crab meat spread over top, and the round jar of "homemade cocktail sauce" on top of that. I wonder if I'd like missing the cream cheese with the other ingredients you listed... The brick of cream cheese is notoriously hard to spread. 8:16
I started an album with my favorite recipes at least 20 years ago and still refer back to it. These days, I tend to download or take screenshots of recipes and store them on my tablet. I prefer cook from a paper copy, but I'm just too lazy to go upstairs and turn on the printer.
Never heard a church that wouldn’t say “pot luck” but have heard them say “Angel eggs”. Oh, not to burst your bubble, but the 12 Day of Christmas” goes from 12/25/24 to 1/05/25, which is Twelfth Night or Epiphany Eve, the next morning being Epiphany. ❤🎄🎉
Ok Chunky Chef, you must call your next cookbook, Recipes From the Binder by the Chunky Chefs, or Chunky Chef's Favorites from the Binder!! Lol! I'm sure there is a publisher that would run with the idea and I'm sure find a more snappy name! Lol! Thank you again for making my day!
Really enjoyed that video! 🤗 Still trying to organize my collection of cooking magazines. Unfortunately, most of them have been discontinued. So every time I look through older issues in order to tear out the recipes I would like to collect in a binder, I feel like I have to keep every other page, which makes it pretty impossible to keep it manageable. 😬
Ask Kim Wadsworth about printing all the recipes 😂 I have some of the page protectors that hold index/ recipe cards. I have started writing down recipes that are "Keepers" in my Happy Planner recipe book. I use Pinterest a lot too. ❤from Texas🇨🇱~Sharon 💜💜💜
Jen, nice video...in reference to the chunky chef...I have heard it said plenty of times..don't trust skinny cooks..and don't trust a cook that doesn't eat their own cooking..I like the idea of calling it a pot-bless😊 I have heard deviled eggs referred to as tormented eggs..and you're 100 percent right about ..just because that's the way the recipe is written doesn't mean you can't change it..I very seldom follow a recipe..unless it's a baking recipe..like bread, rolls or cakes ..
I have a holiday binder but I misplaced it and I have been going crazy trying to find it and the recipes I need at this time of the year. I searched online for a few and friends on Facebook have been very helpful. I decided I am going to rip apart my bookcase downstairs in January. If I find it, I will put it upstairs with the other 2 binders I began at the time so I have it for next year. So annoying. I do remember the Nelly’s, I had 2 of their cookbooks. Their show was great. They are divorced from what I heard.
Yes, they are divorced and he has remarried & has another child. Apparently Gina was the one that actually never wanted to do the show and wasn't happy with it for a long time. I think she is in a much better place from what I have read. Really like her.
Can you please link the sugar cookie recipe?

Vlogmas idea--- Definitely an entire episode on yum yum sauce and accompanying meal. WOW. That would be the best.

That’s so sweet, thank you!

Loving seeing you daily🎉🎉

I do the same thing....write notes on the recipes! Thanks for sharing your favorites!
I make the Amish breakfast casserole that you mentioned. I totally agree with you about the shrimp dip, it’s so good!
Pokey Sticks - YES! Yum 😋
Jen…. You are definitely an inspiration to me! 🥰🤗😊🥰🫨🫠Much love and respect!

OH! you are only supposed to open them 12days before xmas ... I HAD NO IDEA lol. Love the Recipe binder, my recipes are just loose paper, HA!
Thank you for some new yummy recipes.
I’ve been putting off making a dadgum binder for years, but now I’m convinced I must!!!!
Thanks Jen!

I love my recipe binder!
Pot Bless might be my new favorite phrase😂

I’ve never heard the ‘tormented eggs’ term lol, but I’m sure that will be my new go-to from now on! 😂
Cafe Yumm is the restaurant you’re talking about. The sauce is unique.
You got it! I was trying to think of the name and couldn't quite remember
Okay, hear me out. I’m giving my grown a recipe binder for Christmas!! I don’t know I didn’t think of this sooner!
Great idea!!
💗 Hi Jennifer,

I was just about to go to sleep and decided to wait a little bit longer to watch you.

Glad someone knew the name!

Hey Friend! Loved this video 😉💕
Can you please link your Amazon Storefront in your description box for us! 😘
I thought the 12 days of Christmas started with Christmas and went through Epiphany (January 6th)?
I think you’re right!
Hello friend
Never been this early! 😁
