    The 42 is a great modern size. Doesn’t look too small and not bi like a dinner plate. Works for almost all occasions very versatile.

    I thought this was the YT algorithm doing its thing because I’d been looking at strap ideas for my Hamilton Khaki Compressor, having recently been rediscovered after two years of neglect in my watch box. Really enjoying the field watch aesthetic as a change from my usual divers. Coincidence! Great video Rob, keep em coming 😊👍🏻

    I have the brown dial one with strap and vintage lume. It's amazing: +1 seconds a day and reliable as anything.

    I absolutely love Hamilton's field watches. There's just something special about them. I could own twenty of these. I have this watch on leather (I don't like field watches on bracelets) and it gets a ton of wear. I also have the old school field watch with the camo band. I just don't think anyone can really go wrong with a Hamilton.

    I have the field mechanical and wear it at work everyday, I work with my hands and it’s been dropped and banged against pipes and stuff and it’s running +1 second a day. I can’t say enough about these Khaki Field watched

    I think I've watched your two videos on this watch about a hundred times. I finally snatched one up from Mimo's using your code. I'd love to see a follow up or anymore info video's you want to do for it. Subscribed and again, thanks for the great video.

    Khaki King has been my favorite everyday watch for about 2 years now. SUCH a great watch. I've heard complaints about water resistance, but I don't wear mine in the water. If I'm getting wet, I find it a great excuse to wear a diver.

    I have the 38mm, and absolutely love it. But the crystal is basically a mirror, and makes checking the time at a glance impossible. That’s a huge flaw in a field watch. Put some damn AR on the inside, Hamilton!

    • @patricktettero5964
      @patricktettero5964 2 роки тому

      ..it can be used as a shave mirror in field . Because of the domed crystal I'm always capable to read time. Just turn the dial straight or angle it a bit.
      In a hunt or in a field battle I would choose a black-gshock

    I really like this, I can’t decide between this and the “interstellar” model, although I’m leaning towards the latter as it looks so different and has the polished numerics.
    Great informative upload, thank you.

    I literally was putting my 38mm khaki auto on when I saw this video. Great watch. The only thing that bugged me about the 42mm is the date window gets pushed in, which kind of breaks up the symmetry of the dial. Great watch regardless, and I especially love the slim case design.

      @@isaacstewart2979 I have a 6.5 inch wrist, you could easily pull off the 42mm at 7". But the 38mm has long lugs for its size so it wears larger if you're concerned it will be too small.

    hey Rob, i have a bit silly question and would like to hear your opinion: i've never had a lot of watches, mostly one at a time. Now i have like 12 but wear only 1-2. I decided to sell the rest but it is hard, as i have some sort of attachment to them (even to the unworn watches). In contrast, you are a serial flipper and have had tons of watches. How do you handle "feelings" towards watches? I can only connect to watches i wear and use, putting some scratches on them, while you might wear them for 1-2 days. thanks in advance!

    • @RandomRobReviews
      @RandomRobReviews  2 роки тому +2

      I maybe wrong person to ask. In 2012 I lost everything material in a house fire. Messed up to say but was actually a good thing. It changed the way I “feel” or think about “things”. They are just that, things. Things don’t really matter. They come and go. I like to have nice things and I like to have new things. So flipper I am.

    3 things. Screw down crown (or at least no moisture getting inside like it keeps happening), antireflective coating, and good lume. Perhaps a lume that doesn't turn green would be nice. Do that and then you have the perfect watch. Found my own version that suits me better that just needs a little better lume, but improves on all of the other things, and a small company which i prefer to support.
