    Congrats on the 1k, I was already impressed with that when I caught glimpses over my shoulder at RMRRF, but to find out it was such a short development time frame makes it all the more impressive.

    Just put my preorder in. I’ve already swapped my board out to a Manta E3EZ and will be putting a Stealthburner tool head on shortly. So this will be a perfect upgrade to really take my printer to its ultimate form. At that point, it won’t even really be an Ender anymore.

    Tell him to sell another kit that comes with longer extrusions as well as a larger bed. If he Can do that within 100$ additional cost he would be selling a lot of kits to people that want a bambulab x1, But only has ender3 money and a workshop.

      Actually I have not used this printer since I did this review other than for a few small TPU prints so I cannot say if there has been issues like you describe that have developed.
      I have not had any issues with the one I have for what I have been using it for but you have to understand, I have the very first prototype machine, the parts were not mass produced, they were made one off for this machine only as a prototype/proof of concept.

    I think that anyone who buys this kit will have already upgraded their hotend and extruder (to DD), ABL, etc, or would want to do that with this kit. Each of them are likely to have their own preferences to what those components should be. A great complement kit would be the Hero Me Gen7 printhead platform that supports 46 different hotends, 34 extruders, 34 part cooling fan options, 16 ABLs, 10 accelerometers, and more. Very modular and easy to assemble, and provides excellent part cooling!. All that is needed to make this possible for this printer is a STEP or STL of the X carriage that is used (if not the stock Ender 3) so I can create a Gantry Adapter to mount the Hero Me printhead assembly to this great kit.

    this is a weird one, don't get me wrong it's a really cool concept.
    but pricing a upgrade kit at almost 3 times the printer price, is a hard sell.
    especially with competition like the switchwire, and at that price ender3 and the upgrade kit you could almost get yourself a quality voron 0.2 kit.

    • @TheCyberSpidey
      @TheCyberSpidey Рік тому

      Bigger printbed still, but I guess the main appeal is that you get to tinker and don't have to ditch your old Ender 3. Also, Switchwire isn't core XY.
      I agree with you though, I'd rather leave the Ender 3 at it and have 2 printers instead than spending 250$ on a kit.

    I'm not sure I get why its better than the bed slinger. I generally hate my ender 3 since you can't get it to work after you dust it off, it always takes hours or days tweaking to get it right.
    And the bed leveling is a big part of it. So if the bed now moves up and down does it fix anything? I was working on building a big delta printer, but that project got put in boxes, I'm thinking of getting back to it as I need a bigger build space...so I ordered some extrusions to make my ender 3 bigger as that seems easier than finishing my delta project.
    I really don't like waiting hours for prints, the longer it takes, the more likely it fails, so faster is better, the reason to build the delta.

    Redesign so almost everything purple can be 3D printed out of petg or abs. Change the back extrusion to use the Y rail or somethingand the lineal rails so I can ose the rolling wheels I already own... and than make it open source. Than it is and upgrade or modification. In my opinion at least.
    We have switchwire and belted Z mod and all sort of thing... But I mean good luck. Some might like it as a project 😁

      So basically you want nothing that this kit has...
      It seems like you want a coreXY mod that will cost you next to nothing, designed for free by other people.
      Maybe you could link to all the free and open source stuff you designed and spend months working on ?

    That price is VERY suspect to me, can't see it being done for 300. Go price 5 cheap linear rails, that honestly don't leave much cash for the extra extrusion, the custom parts let alone a profit. If it's 300 for the basic kit (brackets) and you buy the rest then why would you spend that much on a cheap printer ? There was another CoreXY kit for Ender 3's and that company went out of business, good clue many are just not interested in a half baked CoreXY. Probably because you can only pump so much money into and Ender and still feel good about it. An Ender 5 with it's cube frame is better suited for a conversion to rails IMO but I still would go other routes that are pretty affordable.
    I have and Ender 3 Pro but if i wanted a CoreXY there are many far better options to go with IMO that don't have to break the bank. Also lead screws for Z, yuck! lol Z lead screw wobble has been the curse of Enders from day one. (Edit: along with their thin warped beds)

    • @EDGEOF3D
      @EDGEOF3D  Рік тому +1

      This kit is not for everyone, this was never intended/marketed for everyone. Thank you for your comment and enjoy whatever printer you decide works best for you.
      As for pricing, I'm 100% confident the manufacturer knows what they are doing when it comes to pricing and remaining profitable, this is not their first rodeo.
      As for "another CoreXY kit for Ender" that went out of business, how does that relate to this business? If it sells, the manufacturer will continue production, if it does not, this is not their only business, not even their core business. So, the market will decide, not history.

    • @dev-debug
      @dev-debug Рік тому

      @@EDGEOF3D It guess it relates because there is a threshold at which people won't see the value in sinking so much money into a cheap printer. Diminishing returns vs investment. It don't matter if they went out of business or stopped selling the conversion kit. Just saying this path has been traveled before.
      The 3D printing market is rapidly changing after what Bambu Labs was able to bring to market. Sure i'ts 3 x $300 but it's one hell of a printer.
      Every review should have pros and cons since nothing is perfect. I'm unclear if this is a promotion or a review because I seem to have angered you.
      Have a good day.

    • @EDGEOF3D
      @EDGEOF3D  Рік тому

      @@dev-debug You haven't angered me in any way and at no point did I say this was a "review" either. It's not a "paid" promotion, in fact I paid for the Ender 3 that the manufacturer used to do this conversion. So, I did not pay for the kit but I did pay for the base printer.
      This is not even remotely close to being comparable to a Bambu, Prusa, K1 or any of the others. It is a great kit for someone that has a Ender 3 and likes to tinker.
      Say what you will, the new Bambu's and lookalikes hitting the market are not going to be the end all be all for everyone. Some people will still enjoy kits and tinkering.
