Insane video, I live by lake ontario i know there's huge lakers there, catch them off my boat and kayak but winter time i always go to simcoe for lakers. Its hard to find decent ice on lake ontario every day I drive by I see open water. Take me next time. Amazing job kevin.
We found lakers from 40 fow and deeper. I'm sure some even go shallower but we didn't try. Access anywhere you can get on the ice where ice is decent. Spud your way out and make sure you have an on shore wind. Lake Ontario laker fishing is not for the faint of heart.

Hello my friend. We don't post peticulars just because many fishing spots can't handle the pressure. People kill the fish, leave garbage, take all the parking etc. Then, they shut down the area for everyone. For this reason, we always just mention the body of water we fish but not the access point or the area. We travel around, and this helps protect the waters. Imagine we came and fished your favorite lake or spot and then posted it on the internet. You wouldn't be happy. We base our videos on techniques, tactics, and gear to catch fish rather than focus on areas.
I'm just trying to think where on Ontario this, I live on sodus bay and only see ice on entire bay. I'm tryin to lame some like that before the ice is gone. Those were great catches
Thank you, Derek. The ice we were on broke up and drifted out 2 days later. The ice was not safe when we were their. There is a ton of current and someone could definitely lose their life or need rescuing if they were not prepared, careful, or experienced with ice.
Sad reality is we take a lot of risks to get the fish we get. We are often on first ice, sketchy ice, fishing open water up until the day before it freezes, and then we ice fish it the next day.
I did see someone get helicopter lifted off that exact same spot a few years ago as they were floating away on an ice sheet that broke off. There have been at least 3 ice rescues there that I know about. So many people think they know that ice until they find out they don;t. Onshore winds can be the most dangerous as they cause waves to start breaking up the ice
What the heck did he eat ;) man I was set up that day with my son pretty sure only about 300yds away in 60ft missed 2 but seen prolly 50 of them smelt being chased around by white fish or Cisco about 10 ft below the ice

The open water was in front of us. We could see waves from the ice huts. We made sure we had an onshore wind. :)
