Facts
I always got bothered when zubac wasn’t played more with the lakers. It’s obvious that they think he’s a defensive liability, which he probably is. But he could always cook offensively. Regardless, that’s a vet with years of experience and also playing constantly around superstars with both LA teams that draw attention from him. I think Edey will be able to be similar to zubac in the league. A reserve 20 minute potential pressure cooker

Realest take from Colin ever. 100% agree, Edey is Yao 2.0 with Duncan's fundamentals and Shaq's mean streak. He's faster than Gobert at the combine and sets insane screens. When he rolls it doesn't matter if someone drops to cover him, you just give him the ball and he scores and probably gets fouled.
He'll go in the first round, but Cam Whitmore shows that you just never know
Zubac would of had 50pts, he is draftable maybe 76ers, Kings or Thunder...

Not a single good player in the entire draft to begin with, so why not take a shot at the dominant big man who destroys everyone else in college? These NBA players all come from the same system. If they get dominated in college, they get dominated in the NBA. I'll take that over the other scrub nobodys in this draft.

He needs to look at Brook Lopez and develop some outside shooting.
Unfortunately, the nba draft is mostly about projection. It’s more of a crapshoot than the nfl draft. So a solid role player may not go as high as some may want just because he isn’t as athletic or takes as many threes.
It's a bit weird Zach is 7'4" and has improved every year at purdue. Seems like he has massive potential.

The fact that a woman is even considered by anyone shows how bad the NBA product is these days. All anyone does is shoot 3s. No skill involved whatsoever. No athleticism. Nothing. Just trash players shooting 3s. None of these guys would last back in the 80s and 90s.

He ended up being a top 10 pick. He will do good in the NBA. We didn’t have a guy that dominant in college since Shaq. So yeah literally 30 years.

Zach Edey is going to be a top 15 pick or perhaps a lottery pick and he is going to play in the league for a long time and make a lot of money.

as a Sixers fan I’d take him at 16. I don’t think he’s a star, but a really good role player with ridiculous length and nice touch around the rim. He’ll develop some type of outside shot and be able to defend away from the basket. Valuable role player, not a star. But that’s 98% of this draft class.

Edey could be valuable. He's unique because he's elite in certain areas and awful in others. You're gonna have to slow it down when he's in the game. Just having that option in your back pocket makes him worth it though. Think of him as a relief pitcher. You slow it down and feed him down low, he could dominate inside. You don't need to build your roster around him though if you take him outside the lottery. He should at least be the level of Valanciunas/ Zubac
Wait.... they're saying Edey isn't going top 10 in the draft? There is NO way based on who is currently starting at the Center position in the NBA amongst the 30 teams that one of the top 10 drafting doesn't pick this guy up. Heck, I can think of at least 3 teams he would start on right now. Golden State would LOVE to keep Draymond at the 4 all the time and have this monster covering Jokic, Gobert, etc. Utah? You don't think they wouldn't want to move John Collins to the PF and put this guy the middle? Orlando wouldn't put Edey in the starting lineup instead of Wendell Carter Jr.?

The problem isn’t that he can’t defend the wing. It’s that he can’t defend the pick and roll. Horrible in drop coverage, can’t switch, can’t hedge. This guy is gonna get played off the floor like Jahlil Okafor. Not even an elite rim protector outside of the pick and roll.
