Love this video!! Jeremy, so proud of you, your family and seeing what you have done with your property! You are amazing! Mostly I’m so glad how you and Rod have remained such great friends since you two were prob all of 6 yrs old!! Love you like our own! Keep up the good work. 🥰
Jeremy, I have watched all your videos and your content is getting better and better. Your thoughtfulness and dedication in the fruits of your labor show in the videos!
Best video (and story) yet! True friendships that endure through the years and everything it brings are more rewarding than just about anything. Having met Rod, I know he is an incredible man and also an inspiration to many (Like JF). Thanks for your service Rod! Stay on Jeremy to keep expanding the footprint.
Freaking amazing story. So just found your channel a couple weeks ago, while watching another channel I found a couple years back, Victory Outdoor Services, just commented the other day about a colab with Ryan, and watching concrete videos. Funny thing is I am an electronics technician and an electrician by trade. Well here is the ironic part. Back in the year of our lord 1992, I enlisted in the Air Force and became a KC135 crew chief as my passion was to work on airplanes. Well thru the years I had switched to the F16 with the Virginia Air National guard and finished up my last 7 years in 2014 on the F22. I have up golf many years ago, but might have to revisit and figure a way to get out to Spud Run. Funny how watching concrete videos leads to a back yard golf video and now going to check out Rod’s channel as my true love of aircraft will always be the KC135! Well currently working for the feds as an electronic technician and just recently working at my local airport with a former guard F16 pilot working on aircraft for him. Keep up the great videos, yeah I know I am a little behind, but I look forward to your videos just like Ryan’s.
It just gets better Jeremy. Thank you for sharing your backstory with us, you’re some kinda special guy to do all that you do. Hats off to you big guy and keep at it :)
Sorry this is so long, but I just wanted to say thanks for what you’re doing. With your posts, you’ve provided me answers, a ton of insight and even inspiration. When we finally acquired our 20 acres of rolling hills and timber that we wanted about 3 years ago, my focus immediately pivoted to my golf course (“practice area”) AFTER my wife's "domestic requirements" (house, etc.) were finished, of course. Yes, I'm living the dream in central OK, just north of Luther. Though I have reasonable amounts of each of the 4 things you identified - time, knowledge, physical ability, and capital, but I could certainly use more of each. Thankfully, along with your channel, I have the passionate desire for this GC project in spades. For now, because of its disease resistance, durable and forgiving, I am only planning to build Bermuda greens rather than Bentgrass. Even if I can never expect to see stimp speeds comparable to yours, the variety of Bermuda I used last spring and summer finally matured into a decent putting surface this fall. If I ever get to retire, I might take on Bent greens, but I’m not there yet. BTW: Your back story - from Jr. Golf, HS team and local tournament golf - sounds completely familiar to me. My various golf-related jobs in HS and college that ranged from GC maintenance to cart barn and pro shop provided some of the skill. The rest is pure willingness and desire to learn and see it through. Thank heavens for this whole “dagone” (spelling?) UA-cam thing and channels like Spud Run Golf! Thank you for all you're doing and for taking the time to share with the rest of us. Cheers!
The thing that makes that the best backyard golf hole imo is that he did it all himself. All that work he put into it and continues to put into it gives it more meaning than if he hired someone. The most beautiful backyard
Since you're in Southern Ohio and I know @FriedEggsGolf is in Fort Wayne, IN if I recall correctly... I really think you fellas should do a collab if you can! I live in Southern Indiana and would love to see it! Thanks for all of the awesome videos, and please keep up the great work and also great content!!
Followed your journey during the beginning now checked back in early 2023 and things look to be going well! Love to see the videos and the great progress. Where are you located? Going by your accent sounds like southeast OH. I’m originally from Wheelersburg/Portsmouth and raised outside Cincinnati. Would love to come check out the Spud if that’s something that you open to the “public”. If not - no worries at all keep on keepin on and living the dream!
@@lukezurcher5942 how? Have you seen other backyard golf holes or courses? You need to look around. This doesn't come close to my 5,000 sq ft two tier green but I'm a superintendent, I can build anything given the money. Picking the right turf is extremely important and the Fescue was a horrible choice. I know some rich people have far better back yard golf courses, look at tiger woods as an example, a lot of players have these setups but better and beyond them superintendents like myself build back golf courses all the time and the wealthy, you just need to face facts, this may be your number Backyard golf hole but to many others it is something else.
