  • Finally, something different to Honda - the big bore air cooled Suzuki's from the early 1980's feature in this episode of Classic Motorcycle TV. We have for you the Suzuki Katana, featuring both 1100 and 750 versions, and the GSX1100E, the swansong for the big bore air cooled monster bikes. Compare the Katana to the other bikes of the era and you'll see why they became a cult icon that continues to this day.

    My dad had one exactly like that here in SA. He put it on the back wheel wearing shorts and flip flop sandals and ended up with the exhaust breaking then slicing through the bridge of his foot almost completely amputating it

    That GSX 1100 SXZ is a real collectors item 90KW compared to 82 W for the standard one.
    I had a Katana 1000 that I bought new in 1983 for R 3300 (South Africa) , loved that bike I would still have it if it hadn't been stolen!

    1100 was sold in Canada, also a 750.
