A terrific combination of textures from these instruments. I would also love to hear this piece played on a wooden flute, harpsichord, and cello - another terrific combination of textures.
amazing Mendelssohn, great musicians! bravo!
Great Performance. Congratulations to Leonora Armellini for her 5th price at the Varsaw Chopin Competition
Замечательное исполнение,свежо,вдохновенно,талантливо!
Absolutely fantastic! Great performance!
Realmente, músicas que eu adotarei para meus repertórios...
Parabéns!!
... a pianista, também, está de parabéns!!
Bençãos de Deus!!!
Excellent...and the recorded balance and sound is excellent.thanks
Amazing!!!
This video is the highlight of the past two weeks for me. It's not because I've not done anything in that time, but because now, a few minutes after it ended, I am still excited and smiling. I've listened to this piece countless times but never imagined what it would be like with a flute in place of a violin. It could not have been easy to keep up with that cello--which was handled so well that if anyone were to ask me how the instrument should be played in this piece, I would not hesitate to point them to this video--but the balance was managed better than some of the performances containing a violin that I've seen. I realize this was five years ago, but I could not help writing something to express my adoration and appreciation for this unique performance. You've gained a new fan.
Thank you so much for your kind words :) :)
I love it! Great! :-)
Oh man, I'm really torn on this one.
At first I wasn't convinced of the flute but after a few minutes you really get used to it.
However, it is also worth noting that soundwise, this version is very different from the original version. It also seems to me like every instrument tries to present its unique identity far more than "normal". This is made very clear in the cello part which has many more very violent strokes as well as in the piano which in terms of tempo and rhythm can sometimes change very drastically...
Excellent players. Still prefer violin for its darkness at times, but all players are excellent.
I prefer the violin to the flute, it blends better.
Is that a Zoom H4 / Zoom H4N
It doesn't look like the h4n that I've got and looking at right now. Nevertheless it must be some sort of field recorder (with 2 unconnected XLR inputs showing) positioned close to the cello, which explains how clear that instrument sounds. The piano sounds muffled and boomy, to my ears.
Ludovico and Leonora are they a couple?
brother and sister :)
Why not both?
