    We had a great experience with the Tampa Lazydays back in February of this year. We experienced a very professional sales rep who narrowed down our search within 20 minuets and had us walking through 5 super clean Class A's that met our requirements. Really not a typical "pressure" sales place, but they do have a process that get's you matched up with a unit and ready-to-deliver pricing. Again, we had a fantastic experience and will be back when we are ready for our next RV.

    We bought our RV from Lazy Day's in Tampa. We bought a 2006 Monaco Dynasty 42' diesel pusher. It was a awesome experience. We travel with our kitty. We toiled over where to put the cat box. The custom cabinet shop built a cabinet to house the liter box. They did such a nice job on the cabinet and Corian top that you would never know it was not original. My wife was so nervous driving the coach that she made us take the driving class twice. Lol!!! Forget staying in the delivery lot overnight we stayed a week and a half. Lol!!! They taught us so much about our RV and how to properly use it during that time it was amazing. We would definitely buy from Lazy Day's again. FYI we were probably there when you shot this video if you were there during Thanksgiving. After leaving Lazy Day's we went to Virginia, Tennessee, Alabama then back home to SW Florida. We live a hour and a half south of Lazy Day's.

    First off... I think you guys are doing a great job. I really enjoy your videos. My wife and I live in Colorado and have been to the LD locations here but, we also have been to the main location in FL. The location in Florida is much different than the other locations. The satellite locations are pretty much run of the mill dealerships without all the amenities that the Florida location provides.
    That being said, we were very impressed by the size and the amenities of the Florida location when we visited. It is a very slick operation and certainly impressive to see in person. Our experience there was a positive one. Upon arrival we were immediately assigned a sales person who gave us a tour of the dealership and then spent approximately 2 hours going through units with us. We did not feel any pressure to buy immediately and also did not receive the typical litany of unwanted follow up phone calls after our visit.
    After exhaustive research we did not end up purchasing from LD due to the fact that they were not willing to match the prices from two other dealerships we were working with. Lazydays was 3% and 4% higher than the other quotes and would not come down. I have heard this same thing from many other people who have shopped at LDs in comparison with other dealerships. Personally, I think this only makes sense because of the enormous amount of overhead for the "Disney World" features, number of staff and maintenance of the property.
    On the other side, I have heard many nightmare stories from people about the service department at Lazydays. (Many of these have been from "Crown Club" customers). I know of one person who only had his issues resolved after a year long saga and signing a non disclosure agreement with the dealership. To be fair, most RV dealership service departments get poor reviews. However, the magnitude and frequency of the stories regarding Lazydays service department are too much for me to ignore unless it was an emergency and I had no other options.
    As I said before, our personal experience with sales was a good one even though we did not end up purchasing from them. If their service reputation matched the overall premium experience of the dealership I might have considered paying a little more for a coach to get a service product I believed was truly superior.
    Regardless, this is a dealership that everyone should stop and visit at least once. It is amazing to witness the size and scope of the operation.

    • @ChangingLanes
      @ChangingLanes  6 років тому

      Could it be that the magnitude and frequency have more to do with the size of the service department and sheer number of rigs serviced? Not being argumentative here, just posing a theory. I honestly don't know. But if 1% are unsatisfied customers across all service departments, it stands to reason that a dealer as large as LD would have a lot more unsatisfied customers.
      Not defending them, or any other RV dealer. Poor service is poor service and one can read a new horror story every day online. We personally have no experience with LD or any other service department. Since we're fully nomadic, we deal directly with Grand Design, fixing things myself, and getting a mobile tech (under warranty) when it's beyond my ability. The ability to deal directly was a major reason for picking GDRV.
      Is there's any kind of unbiased authority on service departments and customer satisfaction? It seems everything I've ever read on any service department is all anecdotal. Would be good to have some actual data.
      Anyway... I think you're right. Regardless of ones position on all of this, I think it's undeniably a great place to see lots of RVs.
      Thanks for the well thought out comment, and thanks for watching! Hope you check out the rest of our channel. 😊 ~chad

    The first time we went to Lazy Days the salesman didn’t give us the time of day. Then I found the coach I wanted online and they had a used one in stock. sales was great, the second time maybe because I already knew what I was looking for. Service not so much they have a terrible rating online and they earned it. We drove 2 hours on our scheduled delivery day and the coach was not ready we had a 9 am delivery and we did not get out of there until almost 4 pm. Since we were not spending the night it was a very long and frustrating day. What started out as a great morning turned into a nightmare before it was all over. But we love the coach and our salesperson was great!

    Great video! In particular great PR for Lazy Days. Wait till you have to return to get repairs done. They are very attentive during the sale process, but afterwards is a different story. We have a class A Tiffin from Lazy Days took it back for some minor body work and minor cabinet work. Six weeks later after I would not approve the sloppy body work and paint we got it back. Still the cabinet work not completed. They left a damaged cabinet pull because they did no have enough time. Six weeks! This was a Crown Club coach. Good luck. Being that you are a u tuber they might do better with you.

We will be ordering a GD Solitude from a different dealer this year, and going full time spring of 2020. We went to Lazydays on our way to Ft. Meyers based on your recommendation. Spent 5 hours walking the lot, camped on the beach for a week and went back to Lazydays on the way home and walked the lot for 6 more hours. That place is amazing!

    Our problem we are finding out I’d the lack of dealers here in Oregon. If we buy out of state they want you to bring the rig back to them for warranty work. That would be a good drive to get to any major dealer except Camping World.

    You guys NAILED IT! Of all the videos that I’ve watched of Lazy Days, this is the best. I had no idea the scale and grandness of this RV Dealership. I’m so impressed with well, everything. The specialized knowledgeable people in every area (as well as the areas themselves) is truly amazing to me. The restaurants the pools the arcades the shopping the campgrounds and the so much more that I’m not even aware of, is on such a Grand Scheme of things. I can clearly see now why this is call the “World’s Largest RV Dealership” Thank you so much for sharing!

      It is very nice! We only stayed 2 nights there and we fully engrossed in moving in, so we didn't get to really enjoy it. We have visited here multiple times and camped here as well. We stopped in there last year and looked at a Foretravel Nimbus they had. When I mentioned the water intrusion in the bed area and the grease on the carpet and having them take care of both, I was told rig sold as is. We walked! Since I have sold RV's in the past and have had everything from a tent to a diesel pusher, I guess my buyer beware goes into action when at any dealership, let alone Lazydays! I am glad you had a great buying experience. That's what counts in the end!

    • @ChangingLanes
      @ChangingLanes  6 років тому

      That's very odd.. Was that Nimbus some kind of trade in clearance? I can't imagine them selling any RV "as is" with known water damage. Maybe you got some rogue sales person...

    When was this filmed? We bought our 5th wheel there this past summer, and I promptly backed it into a gas station overhang...lol. Took it back and they did a fantastic job repairing it! Anyway, saw what could have been our 3731FL on the left right after you passed the "glass" area... but it would have been a few months ago.

      We filmed this the week of Thanksgiving. So, must have been a different one. We did have someone else spot their rig in service though. Small world! Thanks for watching and hope you check out the rest of our channel. 😊

    Wow what an operation. Big overhead cost. What I didn’t like about the big time RV show was the inexperienced buyers they used who didn’t know that you should get a minimum 25-40% discount off a new RV. You Really need to educate yourself before you buy and research various models and floor plans. You save So much buying used. My dream coach was an Entegra, the more practical was the Tuscany 42GX. Had to have something to take the motorcycle on the road also. Then the Grand design came out with the model with the garage Under the bed allowing full length living area at half the cost of diesel pusher including new truck. Ended up finding a pristine National diesel pusher for under 50k that fills all our boxes paid cash and didn’t break the bank. Patience, research and a realistic assessment of your needs vs wants paid off for us. Soooo Happy....

      I'm sure there's some level of negotiations that go on outside what's edited for a 30 minute show. Likely the same for GoingRV, etc. They don't want to publish anything less than advertised prices.

      To be honest, we're not really sure how it works with exports. We have sent a few people to our contact at Lazydays (Bama), about purchases in EU and Russia... Pretty sure they can arrange that, just sure how. If it's something you're interested in, send an email to telliott@lazydays.com (Tracy "Bama" Elliot). We're going to send him an email also.. because now I'm curious! 😊

    Cool thing is I heard that they are actually looking into possibly opening a Lazy Days location here in Anderson, SC. Camping World I have heard is also looking at possibly opening a location in the area due to all the lakes (Hartwell, Jocassee, Keowee, Russell, etc) getting 22 million visitors a year.
    If both of these chains were to be compared, which one would you rather go to for sales? For service? Why?
    (If you respond, thank you. We are thinking of getting into this. Also, thanks for the quality tour video!)

    • @ChangingLanes

      We really have no experience with any RV dealer service department. So, we don't have a lot to add there. Our buying experience at Lazydays was great overall. We've not heard much positive about Camping World. They have a really bad reputation in the RV community. Based on our limited experience and anecdotal info, we'd definitely pick LD over CW any day.

    We are very happy with our GD fifth wheel. I well say I wish your video about lazy Days was put out sooner we bought ours from LeMesa RV in Sanford FL and it was not the professional dealer that I see that Lazy Days is. I won’t go into the negative details but I would NEVER buy from that company again. With that said, I will buy another GD. Thanks for your great videos and have a wonderful New Year!

      We are very rarely in the area so we've always dealt with Grand Design directly for warranty work. Much easier having a mobile tech come to us. We do have to pay the mobile fee (usually ~ $75), but well worth it to stay put and have them come to us!
      Sorry that doesn't answer your question about Lazydays service. The feedback we've received has been both positive and negative (in regards to Lazydays service, but that's to be expected with any dealer service department we think.
      Thanks for following our journey! 😊

      No problem.. That was one big requirement for us... We wanted to make sure that the warranty did not preclude full time living and also that they would work directly with us on any warranty issues, with a mobile tech or sending us parts directly. It's been great!
