Thanks for the invitation of the interview!
Sorry, for the bad Audio Quality from my side. I thought the AirPods would be fine. Next time I will use a proper microphone.
I had ordered one, but it did sadly not arrive.
Thanks for a wonderful distro!
Hey great, I wish you all the strength, audacity and tenacity multiplied to infinity. Not only to you but also all those who make up the cachyOS team. I could say millions of things but my sincere thank you so much for this work so urgently necessary and beautiful.
CachyOS made gaming a top tier experience for me with Nvidia GPU, this guys did an amazing job. I even have their kernel on my Nobara installation.
Bro literally just one week using cachyos im already a fan #1 🏆
'Archlinux + CachyOS kernel' or 'Default CachyOS' installation?
Default CachyOS. The dev / maintainers are doing the job for you, no need to loose time configuring / optimising anything.
Good work, nice interview about one of the most promising distros. I discovered Cachy from your content so thank you! Something interesting I picked up about your question regarding v3 and v4 packages was the dev response about improved performance for native games vs proton. Even if a game is native many people prefer proton with something like proton-ge but maybe there is potential for you to run some benchmarks where this scenario can be applied (if I understood this correctly). Cheers
cachy does provide a nice testbed for getting an idea of what the effect of what building packages with v3 optimizations could give. So far the only "mainstream" distro that has adopted any of it is openSuse by using glibc-hwcaps to load v2, v3 or v4 dynamically. So interested to see what real world impact it has.
Distros can't really move further than v2 as base easily given that intel released processors without AVX support until the mid 2020s so some dynamic approach like glibc-hwcaps or multiple repos like cachyos is using seems like the more viable option right now though one will have to justify the extra space/bandwidth cost for it.
Should not that there is some misconceptions about these optimizations out there too, stuff like glibc, video decoder libraries, crypto libraries, linux kernel etc do make manual use of newer cpu instructions - so they don't go unused even if not compiling packages with these optimizations enabled. They mainly have an effect on other libraries and binaries that are not hand-optimized in this way which can be anything from a negative performance impact in the very worst edge case to a massive boost in the very best case but in most cases no impact or a small boost.
Hello everyone, I was able to play Apex Legends a few days ago. I wrote about the problems I had. What helped me is the configuration in Steam with the Proton Cache version that our friend has in the tutorial. Thank you and remove the option that Vulkan has to load from the cache. steam precachin runs at 100% thanks
@ptr_1337 cachy os i heared it long time ago. But during that time i had other arch based distros like big linux , reborn os. But after watching the gaming video from this channel it impressed me to try it on my device . I installed it and works well. I'm not a gamer im just a programmer. So never played game but for my works it work good
THANK YOU for making a truly innovative distro. So many that are Arch based end up being 90% theming and a "hackerish" attempt at a few extras. Cachy is in a league of its own.
Fun to listen to!
Nice little pod!
Thank you! Cheers!
bonne interview!
C'est très interessant
an rss feed would be great!
Seems like a lot of work on my end. If we get some significant views I will do it.
Thanks for the feedback.
Great job on this!
Better create another podcast channel
Why?
@@udaysingh9_11 UA-cam algo might like that better, it generally pushes for content separation of sorts. Punishes the other content (won't push recommendations to some people) if you upload long-form content on the channel too.
@@esaedvik good point
Thanks guys @ptr1337 @vnepogodin Your project has improved my gaming more than 50% in linux . Great pod. Best wishes to u from Chile.
