In this video, I compete in the August Titled Arena on lichess.org. Somehow I forgot to upload this earlier... but better late than never! The tournament featured 2 hours of 1-minute chess. I had a better than usual performance and played countless grandmasters. Many big chess names competed in the tournament including Magnus Carlsen, Alireza Firouzja, Daniel Naroditsky, and Andrew Tang.

"This pawn is weak. No offense to the pawn"
How come Rosen is so funny
@Bot AtChess Where do you get this from lol
@Bot AtChess who are these "others"?
I agree
18:41 Eric processing checkmate faster than Lichess...
No brain lag
mind blown
24:30 - "I was seeing things, but my opponent saw more things."
Now I can't spent a day without Eric uploads....
Me neither, but bullet is my least favorite, too fast for me to process
I set a permanent time for Eric vedio
Feeling that right now for sure… really happy for him going for GM!
Stafford Gambit Time my dudes
37:15 That loss took half of Eric's lifespan lmfao
Holy shit I find 48:09 the most impressive thing ever... You saw in such a short time that the trickiest variant was to triangulate the king, so that the white king would be nestled on h4, which gives the king only one move, namely going back, which causes white to think less about moving the pawn. All that in just a split second. Insane, man!
This is why bullet needs a completely different skill set. It's not just fast chess, it's also tricky chess.
COLOURFUL LANGUAGE
20:07
"Tactics, endgame tactics, ou free rooks tactics"
😆
I loled so hard on this one..
Ah the classic free rook tactics
29:33 hold on I'm winning a pawn too.. or the bishop.. or both.. and the game
He’s a legend 😂
Lol
"He has 2 queens, but I've got monster pawns" now that should have been a Halloween title.
"Take that take that take that" - P Diddy
-Also, Eric Rosen
I really appreciate the long clips 1.5h+. I can fall asleep to it, and it really helps me. Thank you Eric
True. I use the long vids as ASMR
"This pawns weak - no offense to the pawn" 21:10
hahaha that made my day
sorry 20:55
I’m amazed once more by your swift calculations and board awareness in bullet XD I just choke everything. Well played, Eric!
This isn't blitz, it's bullet
@@TheFr3styler My mistake. I apologize for my carelessness, and thank you for pointing it out ;))
@@soar0284 Not sure I can forgive this conversational blunder
@@TheFr3styler I’d offer a takeback, but you’d probably reject it XD
Yeah it definitely takes practice, but it's really addictive once you get the hang of it!
The GM Eric beat at 54:29 was Maxime Vachier Lagrave! Kudos for not clickbaiting that one Eric, good sportsmanship
I think it's Maxime Lagarde which is a different person. Unless I actually checked wrong. Still a strong player though
13:53 "I don't know, but free knight"
....all we need.
"Lets develop the king" Ahahahahaha
Weak leaders sit back and watch their subjects do the work. A true king leads them into battle.
@@koifish528 but the king in chess is weak and if you try to "develop" it early you're risking checkmate
@@hay0099 nonsense, the true power of the king is evident in the near undefeatable bongcloud opening
@@hay0099 Hear ye, hear ye! How dare ye
Go up against the king who do his thing tri-yearly?
They're too carefree with their mouths around here
Off with his head, and display it at Town Square
13:51 "what the heck is this game?"
"I don't know but free Knight" 😂
Eric: don't hurt me
Opponent doesn't hurt
Eric: Time to hurt the opponent
39:58 "That was a really bad mouse slip. If I took…" MOUSE SLIPS AGAIN
Straight up, this is the perfect pace for telecommuters. I can watch a game then get back to work before I'm logged out xD
I really liked your London at 16:50. I'll have to study that line as well. Great games and content as usual!
13:52 best “idk but” moment
One of the most impressive video from Eric! That's pretty amazing bullet chess!
So much stress but Alpha Rosen is a beast and a joy to watch.
I'm not sure if this is a problem for most people, but as someone with hearing loss/comprehension issues I have to turn volume up a fair bit to hear your voice, but then the game sounds become deafening. The sound it makes when you get matched is particularly painful.
For other UA-camrs I just turn on the automated subtitles, but you seem to have disabled this feature.
worth addressing! Thanks for this
same here
I started watching chess two days ago. Now I’m addicted and I don’t know the rules😂
"Dahh my pawn!" - Eric Rosen 2020
just saw the first 2 games and im already excited for the rest, thanks for this
4:24 Good choice Eric! That bulletproof coffee will certainly make you bulletproof against those nasty Alekhine's guns
Time for my morning coffee and another quality video from Mr. Rosen. Love the videos Eric. 👍
1:02:00 When you brainfart and try to play a London as black. "Wait, what am I doin?"
1:17:50 Okay he did it again and lost in 15 moves. Nice job.
"Okay, let's develop the king..."
This was seriously hilarious
29:25 - 'So I won the exchange..' :) great games in a strong tournament
that secuense at 34:10 was stuning!! very smoth and a pleasure to watch! you are playing very well mr. eric
Your game verse hitter was insane! well done with the ending
it was awesome to watch you live - Australia friendly times
This is so entertaining to watch. Idk how u can think so fast. Ur insane
25:04 that meow caught me so off-guard 💀
I’m drinking bulletproof coffee to make myself... bulletproof...
you have the best content in the chess community! I have learned a lot from you and as much as I enjoy playing chess, I'd rather watch you play for 2 straight hours berzerking GMs cheers!
i stay up waiting for these now
Finally a long stream so i can watch while its snowing outside!
Eric Rosen is a superGM when he has less than 10 seconds on the clock.
Eric you are raised by level where I have learned to stay at 1867-1956 constantly and I mainly lose on time to lower fast moving players; Eric you are my favorite coach bless you🙏🏿
Hello Eric. I saw in your video I watched last night you live in St. louis Missouri. I have been playing chess in St. Louis for 40 years. The best player we had in Missouri was Missouri legend IM Mike Brooks. Before Rex established the St. Louis chess club, and the Chess Hall of Fame. St. Louis is no longer the back end of chess. I just started watching your videos, and love them. And I am subscribing. Keep up the great videos. And thank you!
UzbekTiger63 was GM Tair Vahidov, unsurprisingly from Uzbekistan and born in 1963 ;)
@1:43:55 - would love to see that game as a stand-alone video. I need it for my saved collection of Stafford lines! Hadn't seen that one before, really fun game.
18:43 Anastasia's Mate got its name from the 1803 German novel _Anastasia und das Schachspiel_ , by Johann Jakob Wilhelm Heinse.
Was surprised to see Eric had problems reading Arthur Dent's name at the end. The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is an indispensable companion to all those who are keen to make sense of life in an infinitely complex and confusing Universe...
I still can't get over how good eric is at scrabble
difference between a 1500 and a 2500. Sometimes it takes me a full minute of staring at the board and strategizing only to realize one of my pieces has been hanging.
Dude! I got dizzy watching that first game! I wish my brain could calculate moves that fast! Well done!
I wonder if meditation influences Eric's game. He seems so calm and powerful :D
I can feel the pain of him when he loss by dirty flag and his voice becomes heavy
How does the point system work in this tournament I’m seeing some 4s and 5s?
Mind blowing first game
100 rating points in 1 tournament...if I hadn’t watched it happen, I’d have called BS. Gz
9:05 Nice mate attack
Bro Eric did you injure your self on the tennis clip? Of the Halloween gambit
making a GM ragequit should be +100 elo on its own
That bishop pair from game two is terrifying
Its funny at the beginning of the video the guy playing the french premoves bishop b2 not expecting Eric to play queen f3 just like he told the Gm he played before happens.
Eric Rosen Rocks 🤟🤟
Eric went super saiyan at some point
For mere chess mortals, be prepared to choose to watch this at x0.5 speed to follow.
Eric's chess brain operates at hyper speed.
Eric becoming Neo from the Matrix
Made a GM rage quit. Eric is overpowered.
"Just have to stay focussed...play quickly...not flag!"
35:15 was just bananas! WTF!
Was this tournament in august?
54:29 "Oh opponent rage quit"
Bulletproof coffee was the key
Hey Eric I noticed the Jacket. Are you sponsored by Discord? And do you have one? I'd love to join :D
48:35 should be a very proud moment!
Eric: it’s Hard to talk and play bullet
Hikaru : hold my beer
now that's some fast sh*t
9:04 Eric bullies 12 year old on the internet by pawn forking his rooks and mating instead of taking the piece
"let's develop the king" OOF
I be watching the commercials. Get paid my guy.😁🇺🇲
Lol Rosen steamrolling GMs like no big deal
OK! I am convinced. I need to learn the London system. And be called a lazy chess player. It will be impressive at long time controls at my scrub level.
Don't give in to the London system
@@quintenvanlaar28 :)
It's an easy opening, but if you're as low level as you pretend, learning many tricky traps is probably the best you can do, even for longer games. Just today, I was playing blitz games(which I usually don't, so my blitz rating is below my real abilities), and I encountered this madman who had over a 100 less rating points than I, which means he likely won many games on a row, unless he specifically ask to be put up against stronger players, idk. Whatever the case, this dude tried like 10 different tricks&traps at the very begining. I avoided them all, slowly got a better position, then carefully won his pawns one after the other. Still, if I had made a single bad move in the opening, it would have been over.
Are ya winning, son?
"the one when eric was on adderall"
Watching this at 2x speed makes it hella fun. Watching this at 0.5x speed makes it normal chess. :P
Understandable, have a nice day.
1:19:15 pun spotted!
Satranç UA-cam is streaming :) love
How much did you sleep?
god damn bullet
You should be GM so soon. & Playing world's best players. My favourite youtuber.
49:44 eric's mistake was rook defending
Hahah Oh I win the pawn too,or the bishop , or both, and the game . 👍👍👍
