@ReviewsandTech some of the ilm helmets have some different style of chin bar than helmets I've used. Not sure if this will work with the ilm helmets, but I use MotoRadds. Has been working well. Before this I used a gopro mount and stuck it off to the side of the chin bar and had a curved arm to bring the camera to the center. I have it in some of our older videos you can see for reference.
friend of mine lost his $600 gopro because this EXACT reason! They offered to send him a free replacement mount. They claimed my friend installed it incorrectly.
Yeah, like a $30 replacement will make up for the cost of a gopro. I feel like they know there's a problem but don't want to admit it. I like the minimalist design of the chin mounts but as you know the 3m tape apparently doesn't stick to them.
They definitely have a problem and don't want to acknowledge it. A guy I know that works with 3D printers thinks it's because the mounts aren't as smooth as something like a helmet. Air and moisture can get behind and loosen the seal. That's just his opinion.
I had the same problem with a mount from chinmount. It fell in the middle of our east Coast trip. Luckily we just finished riding for the day and were walking to our hotel room when it happened.
This was that same brand and it happened on our trip to Alabama and Mississippi. Fortunately, the way we were recording I had wired attached and it kept the camera from falling.
@@motorcycleden You got lucky there. I gave up on that brand. I even tried using my own heavy duty tape and it failed. I think it's the material they use for the 3d printing. It's just too smooth for proper adhesion.
I plan to buy an ILM motorcycle helmet, is there a better option for a Go Pro 10 camera? Great video by the way, thank you so much

Someone mentioned they used Sugru to put it back on and haven't had a problem since.
They said the same shit to me

@MRMRS2wheeler yes! I'd say we both got lucky. Some people were saying they used Sugru (moldable glue) and haven't had a problem since.
@@motorcycleden tried that as well. Still came off.
@@MRMRS2wheeler glad I didn't go that route. I purchased MotoRadds like you have. Seems like a solid mount.
It´s overpriced 3D printed garbage, do not buy it!
If it worked as advertised, I wouldn't mind paying that price but it doesn't and to me it's not worth any amount of money. I agree, don't buy it!
