Goede Morgen Eelco Gelling just the very best in his time when I saw him playing in Haarlem on the Pinkstermorning in 1969 with those blistering solo's with Herman Brood ramming away on the piano, I never forget the moment!!!!!!
In this period I followed Cuby and Focus, man those guys where top musicians in the Netherlands, Eelco in his day was a great passionate blues player and Harry had great feel too.
Wow niet normaal dit 1968. Bizar hoe goed Nederlandse muzikanten vroeger waren.
I wasn't there but I assisted to many concerts of Cuby and the Blizzards in those days '67 / 68 / 69.Where I had that tremandous change to jam with them as singer and harmonica player. This recording is a real witnes of the spirit of their "life concerts" all over the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany Poland and Tchecoslowakya.. Here in 1968 the setup was: Vocals Harry Muskee, Guitar Eelco Gelling, Piano Herman Brood, Drums Dick Beekman and bassguitar Jaap van Eik. Im still smashed by the power of the guitar intro Very very strong. and of course Eelco is on top as an innovator in hyper melodious and sensual bluesguitar playing.
In 1966 voor het eerst gezien. Desolation Edison.
That John Mayall album with Eric that came out in early 66, influenced so many. Plus the BBC live broadcasts too. Things were changing so fast back then. Thanks so much for posting this.

It’s amazing, while Gelling is wailing the blazes out of that Les Paul, half of the audience acts like they’re mad Englebert Humperdinck isn’t on stage.

Guitarist is top notch, in the pure goldy Peter Green style.

Great guitar❤
Bilzen the mother of all festivals

Eelco is smokin' good on this one!

I believe Cuby and the Bs went back on stage for a jam with The Small Faces + Alexis Korner
That’s awesome you were part of it. Where did he get the Les Paul and who put the Hagstrom tremolo on it?
@@peteflynnPAF someone brought it from Sweden, and a Dutch musician (Lourens Leeuw) got it, and exchanged it with Gelling for his ES335
@@Harry_PP030 That guitar was stolen in NYC in 1979 from a taxi cab.
@@brotzmannsax what is the story behind that?
Klasse....
Dr Brood 's pianostijl. heerlijk
Beautiful! The voice remind me Greg Lake. Great musician.
This is blues singing, Greg Lake never sung the blues , strange that you thought they were similar

Saw them in Warsaw, Poland. I think it was in '69.
I listen to them on a cassette called "This is Blues"
Eelco! Harry! Herman!
Still got the album on vinyl 'Apple knockers flophouse'
John Mayall
Fantastisch. Eelco was onze eigen Eric Clapton (en Jan Akkerman was onze Jeff Beck).
heel veel zien optreden beste blues band zeker in Nederland
Live meegemaakt nostalgie !
Dat je je het nog herinnert zeg! Was een vage tijd toen 😂
The lead guitar reminds me of Clapton during his Cream days.
Eric was playing this style in 1965 and many people copied him

More like the album Eric did with John Mayall, the Beano album really put him on the map as a guitar player of note.

The drummer looks like Clapton
I’m hearing a little Alvin Lee hear.
Yep and Jimmy Page too! Not to mention that Les Paul looks like a real 59, priceless!

Zag ik nou John Mayall? En wie was nou de beste? Eelco of Jan? Doe mij maar Eelco, nog boven Eric.
