  • This was my first GNCC race. I was looking forward to a very challenging mud race but things came to a grinding halt before I even finished the first lap.

      Thanks!
It was a bit emotional for for close family to see a loved one in agony but it’s part of the sport.
I did find out that I had good clutch control even while I was passing out. 😂

I wish I had the patience and skill to be able to do that. I hope to do an IT one day maybe when I have more spare time.

Yes, some of them guys were making it look easy but most of us were in struggle town.
So far I’m feeling better every day. Thanks

That’s a big muscle to pull, ouch! Really was feeling for you there.
That lean condition seems like something is expanding when the engine heats up and is sucking air in. While you heal up you probably want to check your crank seals, intake boot, and check for warped cylinder or head.

Thanks, it was some serious pain but I’m feeling much better now.
Yeah I’m not the greatest mechanic and have lots to learn but I’m trying to get there. Thanks for your suggestions.

Leak down test would be in order. I wish I did that with the Kawasaki. It went lean on me and stuck the rings in the piston via a partial seizure.

@@dennisyoung4631 yes, probably a good idea. All of my IT’s seem to lean up on muddy races. I need to make notes to hopefully adjust them richer to start with.

I just got to the part where you got hurt. Are you okay? Anything serious?

Luckily I don’t think anything is bad. Doc worked on me and said l’d probably be sore for a few days. Already feel better this morning. Thanks for asking.

@@froghismightyit6543 back in 2001 I ran the GNCC series and it was muddy at 10 of the 11 I went to, and I ran the 3 hour evening race. It's where I learned to race in the mud

Yeah I can imagine. With that many bikes the conditions get really bad.
