The more I look back to this season, the more it becomes clear to me how it foreshadows the manga's future (so uhh, content warning for manga spoilers ahead?). This song fits perfectly in O!Ciel's perspective towards R!Ciel being dead, while it could also fit perfectly within Alois' perspective towards Luca being dead. In fact, Alois and Ciel seem to be in opposite ends of the same situation: O!Ciel loses an older brother *to make* a contract with a demon, while Alois loses a younger brother *to* a contract with a demon -- which makes Alois the perfect parallel for R!Ciel! It makes me wonder just how many years has Yana had all of this planned and how much of season two is foreshadowing for the manga. R!Ciel's personality is also so similar to Alois', and I think the twins' relationship could potentially be the same as O!Ciel's and Alois in the future. Things that have been sitting in my mind for a good while: - O!Ciel's real name is probably Alois (which would be so cool and fit him so well ngl lol), because of all the parallels o being polar opposites of the same situation - Could the second season's ending have any clues as to what might happen in the manga's ending???? As Ciel's name means Sky or Heaven in French. But the "How do i live without you?" Line tho. It can be about how Ciel cant do anything without Sebastian.
