Nice review. Have seen a lot of vloggers testing these bags, but no one has done such a thorough review. Had presumed it was just "another" hardshell case.
Thank you for such a thorough review. I think the older versions of the Voyageur have the shelf/divider in the main side but no compression straps. The newer versions removed the divider, added the compression straps, moved the wet pouch, and slightly different interior material. They are selling both versions now which are delivered at random depending on their inventory. I agree with you that the compression straps would be much more useful if they were attached lower in the case. I enjoyed watching your review.
That is exactly what I do because I do use a backpack. So the Voyageur carry-on works fine for me. I have been unable to get her to switch to a backpack.
Thank for a great video and excellent review of the Level 8 luggage! I have purchased the 26 inch yellow and black for the reasons you specified. I was about to start packing and decided to check UA-cam for reviews that might provide some pro tips for packing this luggage and found your awesome vlog! I laughed when you mentioned the packing weight because I was anticipating that problem. The luggage seems like it is so easy to pack, one can easily forget that weight will be a factor when flying. Thank you again for a very well done and informative vlog on these Level 8 products! Safe travels! 😎😎😎😎
That's what I call a thorough review. thanks for sharing! Question: How did you like the wide handle on the 26"? Is it easier to maneuver the luggage? When pulling, sideways pushing, etc.? Or actually a disadvantage? P.S. There is apparently a 30" available now! Still within the 158cm :)
Thanks so much for the detailed report. I had heard Level 8 recommended on another channel, but I’m still doing research for possible purchases and haven’t decided. You gave the necessary information I’ll need in narrowing things down. Thanks! 😊
@@CruiseReport I’m thinking of the 26” Voyageur. Do you think that size plus a 21” Samsonite carryon will be big enough for two weeks in Italy?? I’ll also carry a small Osprey Daylite backpack on. What about the cover you can buy for the Voyageur bags? That should help with any scratches??
@@eyesopen6687 We are using the 28" for two weeks (transatlantic) shared between two of us, each with our own carry-on. It all depends on how well you pack!
Thank you so much for the review. Very detailed and helpful. Saw an uncomplimentary one of Facebook and have been wondering if to go for monos instead. I wish they'd offer a 50% off. 😂😂😂😂
Thank you for your review. I had previously bought the Luminous Textured 2 piece set in navy, 20" and 24". Today, because I couldn't resist their 20% birthday sale and have wondered about it, I pulled the plug and bought their 28" Voyageur in navy. Looking at the 26" you showed, I wonder if I will ever need that much space 😂.
@@simplywanda1065 I just wanted to inform you that that actually is a 28 inch that he is showing on his video. I only know this because I have been researching these luggage for a long time and been trying and I have been trying to decide between the 26 and the 28 inch so that is the 28 inch the 26 inch does not have the handle on the front.
@@mechanarnold4924 Thank you for the clarification. Since the set was 4" apart, I used that as my measure and decided on the 28", plus that handle on the front helped.
For me personally, I prefer the Voyaguer because of the completely flat, unobstructed packing surface. Rickee prefers the Textured because she can sling her carry on over the narrow handle. They are both comparable quality and materials. We will be taking both with us on another international trip in August and I will do an update.
Thank you for this informative video. We are currently trying to decide on which level 8 luggage to purchase. I still need to decide between wide handle and traditional handle. I would like to know what personal item bag your wife is using in this video? It looks like a good quality tote bag. Thanks for the information.
@@CruiseReport I ordered the Voyageur Set! Mostly because I wanted a 26” rather than a 24” or 28”. I hope to get used to the wide handles on the carryon!! Thanks for your help with our decision making!
@@CruiseReport I didn’t try that although I should have. I took advantage of a 20% off offer on their website. I didn’t think to try and add another discount! Darn it!

If your wife switches to a backpack, she might be able to turn the backpack sideways and use the straps as her trolley sleeve for the wider handle.

I actually think you have the 28” check-in. The 26” does not come with a handle on the front of the case.

Do you prefer the textured or voyager? I’m trying to decide between the 2. Is the voyager worth the extra money?

Do you prefer the 2 tone or the solid colors? I haven’t seen the voyager up close. Worried how I would like the yellow. Any opinion appreciated
It is not so much that I "like" the yellow, but it is so easy to find on an airport carousel among a sea of black bags.
Hey! I am going to Europe. You think level 8 carry-on will be worth buy for my trip? Thank you!
We are happy with ours.
@@CruiseReport Awesome! I will buy it. Thank you!
That looks like the 28" Voyageur. I don't think Level 8 makes a 26" with a handle on the front like that.
I think you are correct, sir. We were told we were getting the 26" and I never took the time to measure it! My bad.
