I think the problem with the wide handle is that you can't fit a bag with a trolley strap over top, which would make wheeling around in the airport and elsewhere more cumbersome if you have a smaller bag.
Good point! We would just put our backpack sidewise with the straps over it but you still have to keep a hand on the bag or a strap so it doesn't fall off.
The top seems to be large enough to lay a bag on top, but I also carry on luggage that has a smaller strap that would connect the handle bar and the my carry bag. So no one can just pick up my carry bag and walk off with it.
Thank you for mentioning the weight of the luggage unpacked! Does it scratch easily, and can it buff out? Did you go over the baggage limit when you packed it to the max? Someone on UA-cam ran a pen around the zipper to breach a suitcase. Would this suitcase survive the breach? I agree with you about the pouches. I almost feel like the wet pouch is too small for wet clothes or toiletries. You’ve mentioned a lot of important details and explained the benefits.
Thanks so much for the feedback! The luggage doesn't scratch easily and we have since put it through the ringer. Seems to clean up nicely as well even when it gets dirty. Fully packed it has been under every time even when fully loaded with souvenirs. As for the zipper test that is a security failure on every single zipper except maybe the pacsafe line that have special anti theft measures. However, the TSA locks themselves are incredibly vulnerable and you can get keys for them pretty easily so the zipper almost even seems excessive.
@@onebagoneworldnow that you’ve had it for a while, do you think that you’d choose another Level8 suitcase that doesn’t have the handle in the middle?how much has it bothered you? Thank you so much for your thorough review and for responding!
Appreciate your consideration on the zipper quality! But a question on that, specifically - In seeing that zipper TSA lock, the first thought for me is water intrusion through the (small) gap where the zipper remains open. Am I seeing that right? Have you had an issue there?
Thanks so much for the comment! There is a tiny gap but luckily it's on the side of the bag so when it's raining, like it just was in the UK where we had it, it's a bit less likely that water will get into the bag but not impossible.
That handle on front will rip the zipper sooner that later, with the weight inside the zipper is not design to hold the two side together. I just got back from Japan and bought a luggage there that has a switch on the side of the luggage which serves as a brake for the two out of the 4 wheels (pretty cool), it prevents it from rolling. This luggage is good if they can remove the handle on the front side of the luggage, hope level 8 will do it on the 26" and 28" trunk luggage in the future.
Japan always has the best stuff don't they? So far the zipper has held up but that's a good observation it definitely stresses it when lifting by that.
Hey Tony! Both definitely have their pro's and con's, but I would say overall the Level 8 has been outstanding and we genuinely recommend this bag to our friends and family!
Haha not coffins yet but maybe if they sponsor us :) we are trying to review the gear that we took with us to help others who find themselves in the same boat. More travel stuff to come though!

Really good review!
Thank you!
Do you still like the yellow and would you recommend it over the solid blue or gray?
