I understand the impact of using definitive statements like "THIS EXERCISE IS BAD"... but to come out and say that about a squat for clickbait I think is pushing the envelope a bit too far.

Naw, I'll listen to guys like Mind Pump or Scott over some no name guy on the Internet saying something controversial to get some clicks.
I mean if your body can't handle squats, by all means don't do them (although I'd argue that you're better off finding out why you can't do them and try to address that, if you can), but otherwise I think it's pretty settled they're a good exercise.

Nothing wrong with swing squats. You wouldn’t be loading them up like you do regular back squats

Mhh I agree somewhat with how barbells often put you in cramped positions, most of the time people experience problems with these lifts because they force you into unnatural movements. Just like DB benchpress feels better for your mobility within your shoulders and chest. The older you get the more you are prone to injuries, thus you might want to focus more on natural movements and not loading your body as much with heavy weights

Well, I would argue that "heavy" and "mobility" really depends on your fitness level.
for example, whenever I see someone bench pressing with a barbell in the gym and there shoulders hurt... it's always because they are "retracting" their shoulders... but not "depressing" them properly.
But of course, always listen to your body.

If you've trained the squat and do it properly, its not unnatural at all. I think its only unnatural bc of people's sedentary lifestyle. Squatting down and standing up is a perfectly natural movement

All I can say is that most of the dudes that try to reinvent the wheel, hardly look like they can lift. That’s all the proof you need to debunk their claims, really.

Yeah, it's true. Squatting is stupid. Deadlifting is stupid. Benching is stupid. If you need to squat, look into a pendulum squat. Deadlift with a trap bar. Bench with a machine or dumbbells. And never go below 8 reps.
