Love the town of Settle, the flower pot festival is so imaginative and creative, very clever, pity the weather was not the best for you when you were there. The scenery was amazing.💕💕💕
As Aussies, this doesn't mean much to me... I just know it's not known for the best weather! We do compare our latitude distance from the equator in the UK to places in Aus, just obviously north and south of it.
Wow, its really moving through Stainforth Focre, you can hardly see the 3 waterfall steps. And Ribblehead, where the HP train was 'meant' to be in the Film, as Glenfidich is way too far North...!!
Yes, it's crazy! I was going to include a pic of what it was meant to look like so people could see the difference but forgot 🤦♀️ So why didn't they use Ribblehead for HP?
Airbnb and holiday homes are a major problem in some areas in the UK. They often smaller homes bought by people from outside the area who cab afford to pay more. Locals are being forced out small towns and villages as the prices of housing. Local amenities such as schools shops doctors are forced to close as the population of villages drop. Out if season many become ghost towns. Business find it hard to get staff. Some areas are now putting limits on the number of Airbnb and holiday let as they do more harm to communities than the revenue they bring. To be a responsible tourist, you should really consider purpose built accommodation rather than opting for the cheaper former homes of locals
Holiday homes are a problem in areas all around the world, but if they are managed well by owners, councils, guests they can be a fantastic attribution to communities. It is all a balance and management. We travel full time and to a budget, having airbnb with our own kitchen and space for our daughter is much better for us as we couldn't travel full time with only hotels as our accommodation, it wouldn't work. We spend money in the community, share our adventures and bring life to everywhere we visit. Thanks for watching and commenting.
@OverlandExposure unfortunately in many places around the world, they have destroyed communities. The lack of effective measures to stop the tide of Airbnb has made the situation far worse. Many areas are now taking measures to restrict Airbnb heavily as any economic benefits are far outweighed by the harm they cause
Why would a family of 3 need a dishwasher?!? LOL. (By the way, are you sure there wasn't a washing machine behind one of those cupboard doors in the kitchen??). And too much whining about the weather - just enjoy the countryside. My best walks have been out in atrocious conditions! x
A dishwasher is a nice luxury but as I said in the vid no big deal, lived for many many years without one and still do. And yes, 100% sure there was no washing machine, I always look in every cupboard and behind every door, & double checked the listing. & The weather, it was beyond atrocious for summer and for weeks on end, we thought it was funny how bad it was.
@@OverlandExposure Just to clarify the UK should be minus 10 15 20 degrees the only reason it is not is because the Gulf Stream runs down the west coast we are only 250 miles off the Arctic cycle But I suppose that is why the UK is so lush and green we get a lot of rain instead of snow
It's Janet's foss not floss - related to the word force - both of Viking descent meaning waterfall..
My bad - typo or speech too?
The Horse hanging over the wall wins it for me 👍
Beautiful place Yorkshire Dales..
They were cool those ones! We loved our time in Yorkshire!

It is such a beautiful place even in the rain :) Glad you enjoyed it!
When thinking about British weather, you should always remember that UK is roughly at the same lattdute as the Hudson Bay and the Alaskan peninsula

You keep dancing like that.. end up with a lifetime ban from Merry old England 😂
🤣🤣 I'm not sure if I'd be opposed to that or not 🤔
@@OverlandExposure don’t blame you with weather like that, Daniel’s description was the best 🤣
Haha I know right! I was being too optimistic and PC 🤣
I would give up betting if I was you I have been there many a time as I am a Yorkshire man born and bread so time to pay up you lost the bet
hahaha, that's cheating! You don't count then :-P
