Thanks Matt, I have been watching your videos from long time they are awesome. For fire effect in Blender, I have used particle system as fire object. Constrained the particle along the tube and made it to flow using force field. Well that was way too complicated than that but the basic idea is this.

Listen to Veritasium, or Vsauce or zefrankl or Deeplook. These are great learning related channel on UA-cam; you could learn a lot from how they narrate.
