You have to love the respect they all give Rodney, even someone as talented as Daewon admits "I can't mess with the laws that Rodney does". Without Rodney skateboarding would be nowhere near the level it is at now.
@skatinghippo366 the tracklisting has it as an exclusive track by Odd Nosdam. I haven't been able to find it. Odd Nosdam does a couple tracks for this vid.
The start of his comment was cut off but I think he said something like "what I looked for in a business partner is poor business knowledge, gullibility and absenteeism and Rodney had all of those." So he was openly flaunting that he intended to use and swindle Rodney's image and good spirit for money. From what I've heard about that dude he is a well established slime bag who is arrogant about the fact. Slick Rick is indeed the ruler. Respect for recognizing positive hip-hop.
Ya. I definitely could be wrong about his character or intentions with that statement, I don't know much about him. Of course, just because you've been successful in the business world doesn't mean you aren't a scumbag, in fact more commonly it is the opposite, but thats obvious. I watched a bit of that documentary and thats what I was basing my impression of the kind of conscience-less person Rocco seems to be on. Again, I could be wrong, I'll have to watch the whole thing sometime.
Umm..... "The Man Who $ouled the World" Watch this video sometime. You are misinterpreting as to why Rocco said this. If it wasn't for Rocco, he would not have made so many skateboarders (INCLUDING "GIRL") who they are now. In a nutshell, Rocco created most of the companies you see today (Dwindle distribution being it's core) or were influenced by what Rocco did.
