iv been skating for 24 years now. at 11 years old id been skating for 3 years not knowing or understanding a thing about the culture and I was still hooked. from 11 until now, life has been about nothing else but skateboarding for me, and yes there are things that we all miss about early skate culture but as long as my body is in working order i'll always be more syked about whats to come than i am bummed on whats to fade away, if you keep pushing forward things will keep changing, thats how skateboarding keeps things fresh in my opinion,
Man I miss a team....I remember when a team came to skate a demo with Christensen and another team....at Iceland ice skating rink in Louisville ky in maybe 97 98....that was a rad ass demo
@chill187 10 months on but what the heck. Canvas came with the Tic Tac 2 Heelflip: Australia's Skateboarding History DVD, as an Extra. Tic Tac 2 Heelflip is truly great, my favourite skate doco for sure.
Always enjoy finding "new" old Rodney footage, surprised I havent ever seen this doc before. Rodney coming through with a textbook darkslide at 1:35 and a clean halfcab heel at 7:32, That big kick flip to melon grab by Reynolds at 1:40 was killer too! of course Gershon was ripping hard in these clips as well. Is that Jeron doing the big ass switch bluntslide at 1:30? I know hes the one that fs flips the spine ramp in the clip just before hand, hard to make out if its him doing the bluntslide too, do to the poor vid quality. Glad that Jeron and Reynolds discussed this on the nine club Id never had've found out about it otherwise.
LMFAO Mullen talking about being an old man in the skateboarding world all the way back in '98 and it being hard for him to get out and skate at his age... Dude still skates like 5 days a week to this day and of course some of his most iconic parts came out after this tour... '97 was Mullen vs Daewon round 1... but round 2, 3 and his globe parts all came out after this tour. The 9club stop and chat with Andrew "the Boss" Reynolds brought me here.
@Notespompon - people talk crap about everyone, but those people aren't worth listening to.. he invented the kickflip - what more is there to say? hes a genius! mike york is the funniest dude ever. this was the first skate video i ever owned, i wish they had it on dvd! ryan says it best "no matter what my skateboard will always be there"...
