These are the steps to be followed in case of wrong transaction
Immediately contact your bank and your local bank manager and inform them of every detail of the wrong transaction initiated by you time, account and the intended account of the beneficiary.
-The bank will guide you as a facilitator and provide the details of the branch of the bank where the money went. You can ask for a transaction reversal from that bank. If the amount went to the incorrect recipient from the same bank, the bank can also approach the individual and seek permission to attempt a transaction reversal.
- It is recommended to keep a personal record of all the communication with the bank(s) regarding the transaction. Be prepared to take a legal route, in case the wrong recipient refuses to return the money mistakenly transferred by you.

1) Agar same bank mein transfer hua h to bhi bank is not authorised to contact the wrong/unintended beneficiary directly prima facia... Customer have to file official complaint with bank and then the bank will raise case id for the same.
2) Agar person paise return karne se mana kar de to bank nahi customer apne level par case karega...
Just do second check before doing mobile transactions to avoid such incidences and to avoid inconvenience. 🙏🏻

अगर गलत बैंक अकाउंट (किसी भी) में पैसा ट्रांसफर हो गया है तो वो वापस मिल जाता है केवल इसकी सूचना तुरंत अपने बैंक को सूचित करना पड़ता है। मेरा SBI से ICICI में हो गया था जो वापस आ गया।
As per RBI if fault is from customer side bank will do nothing except giving the phone number of the beneficiary (same bank) if beneficiary don't agree to return then noting will happen... except from the bank side they can put a hold on that particular a/c.... But if beneficiary is clever then no one can do anything... except putting posting restrictions.

no brother, Branch manager will try to help you out if u file a complain becuase i too did an errouneous transfer of 5 lakhs to an unknown person ( both mine and the recipient's account are in SBI branch) and the recipents account turned out to be a Tiny account and the phone number provided was also not working. But after almost two months time the branch manager of the recipient's branch helped me out by refunding me my money back.

The point is, you sent money with your concern. Bank didn't ask you to transfer. If he is a seller, he can say he given you something for which you paid him. What will you say then.

I worked in PSB for 3 years. In these 3 years I've recovered these type of wrong transfers made to other banks 5 times. So stop bullshitting. We know our work.

Without authorisation from the customer you cannot deduct money from account......even if the money has been wrongly transferred. We can only hold the amount in the account until we receive consent from the customer.
Banks can do nothing if the person who has been wrongly credited the money refuses to return the amount.
Half knowledge leads to disaster.

SCENARIO 1 - If fund credited in same bank, After receiving of complaint, Bank will mark lien in the wrong beneficiary account. Then bank will contact that account holder for debit consent.
If debit consent given by that account holder, then bank will refund the original sender.
If wrong beneficiary denies to provide debit consent, in that case Bank can not give credit back.
In some exceptional cases, Bank can take Stamp paper Indemnity from sender and on the basis of that Indemnity bank will return that amount. But it depends upon case to case basis.
In such cases, if there will be any dispute in future, bank will not liable and whole liability will be on both account holders.
(Also please note that Bank can not give account information to the other party due to privacy policies)
Scenario 2 : If amount transferred in another Bank account, in that case Bank 1 will contact Bank 2.
Bank 2 will contact the customer and asked for debit consent, If consent recieved then they will transfer amount to Bank 1.
If consent not received, Bank 2 will not return the amount to Bank 1.
In all these cases Bank will act as felicitater only.
It is customer's responsibility to cross check account details before making any transaction.

If the fualt is from bank. It can recover but if the fualt is from customer side you can only recover if the reciever is willing to pay back .. otherwise you cant get back your money

If transferred in different bank, then even public banks help. They mail and call another bank to hold the amount. And take few days to returned the amount after taking proper representation . Till the case is not resolved.the amount is hold in another person account, means that person can't use that amount
No bank official behaves like that,Bank officials are generally very helpful and try to help the customers.uneducated and customers with half baked knowledge as portrayed by this lady often behave rudely with the staff catering to 200s of people per day.

Didi if you transfer money on any random account and the person denied to give you the money you can do nothing. But the bank can apply hold to that account for the particular amount so that the amount can't be used but if the person ask to remove the hold then the bank have to follow his orders.

If he is a seller he can say you purchased something from him. Second if he know about you even from internet, he can claim he helped you with cash what you returned.

In case of any wrong bank transfer to any bank , go to your home bank which holds your debit account , give an application there . If in same bank , bank will make a hold and in case of other banks , your debit bank will send a mail to the credit bank which will then make a hold.Only after that any other steps will be taken.

The bank contacts the other bank and asks them to transfer, case is last resort if the person doesn't comply, which rarely happens
You have to provide details of wrong transfer along with request form for reversal of funds. Bank verifies the transaction and proceeds for the same. But if customer withdraws the money, it’s difficult to get back.
So RBI also in these cases are very confused. There are rules like if there is entry by bank official wrongly done in a passbook then person can claim that money from bank. Or if he claims that money he is not liable to pay. But if the thing is done wrong by customer then the bank is liable to recover that sum. That's really unreasonable. Although within same bank the details were verified before transactions are - money, name, account number, date and a consent is taken. So no money can be transferred without customers knowledge. In NEFT and RTGS the name and account can not be verified. Hence the person can claim that you were returning his money but because of some dispute now you want it back. You will never get the money back if it's a small amount. If its large sum then the other party need to show statements of giving you money. So madam you are wrong in case of same bank. But in case of other bank if the details are not matched only then you can file complaint. If name account no. And other details are matched then the statement "wrongly transferred" is wrong.
Rbi makes so many guidelines but ground reality is completely different in this case bank can only request that customer to return the amount and if he denies nothing can be done and forget about police fir and all everyone knows how police dept works in this country

See show the correct info. As per the RBI notms bank personnel first ask for a letter with kyc of remitter, then there will b a lien on the beneficiary account. He got that amount which he didn't own later bank contacted him and when they asked was this your money he said yes then he said I know this guy he had a liability towards me then the bank couldn't do anything and no case. This is just bad projection of all bankers. Every bank employees does not talk like this. If you go to bank they will first take your details and track the transaction after that take an application from you and put a hold on the account for the amount and contact the receiver to come to branch and give a transfer request to refund money after verification. In case he disputes the transaction then the other customer could file a complaint against the person. No bank can just debit a account on your request that the money was transferred wrongly.
P.S - I work in a bank and have handled such cases many times.
Mera account SBI me hai aur mujhe Canara bank me transfer karna tha, mujhse ek digit ki galti hui aur transfer galat account me ho Gaya. Main SBI gayi aur wahan bataya to unhone usi Canara bank branch me mail dala us account ko bar karne k liye, taaki wo account holder mere aise nikal na le, Canara bank ki Wo branch meri hi city me thi, main wahan gayi aur unko bataya to un logo ne SBI k mail ko consider kiya aur mera paisa aadhe ghante me wapas aa gaya.
