      I wouldn't 'like' an account of abuse as that seems inappropriate to me. Liking abuse? Not surprising a lot of people don't want to press 'like' really.

    • @rythmjunky5292
      @rythmjunky5292 Рік тому +8

      @@nataliebutler the “like” would be in support of a survivor sharing their experience,which is notoriously difficult to do,since so many people either don’t want to believe,or blame the victim.
      I’m somewhat surprised this would need to be explained to anyone who’s come to hear her story.
      Maybe if more people supported survivors speaking up,this type of thing could be prevented for other potential victims.
      I think the lack of “likes” has more to do with people who would prefer to pretend this doesn’t happen.

    • @nataliebutler
      @nataliebutler Рік тому +2

      @@rythmjunky5292 of course I understand that's why some people press like, but there are many ways of interpreting a 'like' and to others it will feel inappropriate because they don't see it in the same way, or it could be misinterpreted. Watching and commenting shows support and helps the algorithm too.

    It's unbelievable; you have to endure the abuse, the fysical and emotional pain, than you have be able to make a living, find a way to earn your money, than you come to the point of understanding that you need help, than you have to pay a lot of money on therapists that for the majority won't believe you or are not able to help you, than, when you finally - despite everything - have succeeded to heel yourself, you go to the police and are again disbelieved. And than, at the top of everything you have already achieved, you are also the one who have gadered all the evidence about what your father have done and are bringing it out!
    You are a very, very, very strong woman just like Anneke, Regina Louf, Max Lowen, Fiona Barnett, Cathy O'Brien, Brice Taylor and many, many others.
    You have turned darkness into light!

    Anneka, I appreciate you breaking down the psychology behind the abusers actions. Like Rachael, I've spent a good deal of my life trying to see the reason behind their actions. You're right though, there's a fine line between humanizing these monsters. In some ways, monster is a correct word because there are people like Rachel and you, and even me, who've NOT allowed ourselves to be like this. Why do WE not abuse, why does another member of the same family choose to abuse? I just can't believe there's not some level of control that can be used. I don't struggle with impulse to abuse. Yet I have family that does. Hope that made sense?

I just wanted to say that when you’re interviewing someone, try to remember to allow them to tell their story without interjecting too much, although your takes are insightful and profound to those who listens to them, It is still important to be aware of that delicate balance between the guest and the interviewer. ❤️💗 It takes practice and you must be used to being interviewed a lot so this is in no way personal!! I understand why Anneke is speaking so much, she is simply so moved by the story and is trying to explain to the audience exactly what Rachel is talking about. So there is no way the viewers could misunderstand, but also she completely understands what is being said. It is a type of clarification because these are all extremely complex concepts for someone who hasn’t experienced these things.
    When they’re talking about the father, it’s clear he was also a victim of this “programming” so it’s interesting that they are portraying him as a complete psychopath (although in many of the alters he obviously was psychopathic) because he clearly had been programmed in the same way, most likely from a very young age, to create the alters he had
    Also , I find it interesting that Anneke says he wasn’t a more prominent figure in the network because he seems to have had been in communication and had the protection of several high ranking officials in different areas (police force, education, shop owners)

    It's the same familiar pattern, be it in Australia, UK, US or Belgium. In the rare event that ANY case is investigated, at best it leads to the conviction of some low- or mid-level person, portrayed as the lone, evil perpetrator, leaving the network with hardly a dent in that shiny facade.

    You communicated so beautifully. Your website was difficult to find but I found it through the Storey show notes.
    I think its best to allow the interviewee to tell ther story. Like you, Rachel is a great speaker. The frequent pattern of interrupting her with questions was extremely distracting. Many of these questions could have answered by allowing her to speak. I'm sorry if this sounds rude but allowing someone to tell their story is very powerful.

I was worried that the added information from the non-linear asides might be overwhelming for my target audience. I agree with both of you ❤ I have ADHD so it makes it difficult to pay attention, the questions interrupting the flow~ but I'm in such an amazing place of self love and autonomy, and giving others there autonomy freely ❤ This means I have to focus harder to follow, but it's worth it.
      Anneka does have her own style of talking & interviewing that is her, and I respect that fully.
      We can make suggestions (that come from our own personal preferences) and Anneka has the right to self reflect and decide if she wants to adjust her style of interviewing or to stay the same.
      Either way, thank you Anneka ❤ For being you and having this safe space for others to share.

Merci Anneke

    If you let the guest talk longer without interpreting it makes it better for us listeners.
    Let them talk it all out and summerise it all at the end.
    I only have a fragmented understanding of her story.

      the guiding and clarifying questions are acceptable to those familiar with (elements of) rachel's story as she's given many interviews and monologued elsewhere. the psychological framing and conversational style would be a welcome change to usual interviews on this subject, which rightly overwhelm most interviewers. [the host is wise to add her unique value, especially for guests who have their own channel/platform/works.]

      Ironically to really understand Rachel's story I had to go to other interviews.
      Just think that over.

    You guys are mentioning "the golden dawn". We have a Dutch primeminister, who is related to the Mackenzie family, which is scotisch nobility. According to writer Fritz Springmeier the Mackenzie family was part of the golden dawn. Should we be worried? Another thing: we have 2 ordo templi orientis cult groups in The Netherlands, they even have a website (probably for the exotherical part of trying to look like a decent group, while the inner group is a blackmailing system for whatever purposes). What on earth should people do about it, if even the police is criminal.

    Language is extremely important. We are not Human, hue is the colour or shade of something. Human is the colour of man [colour of law]. The legal definition of human says, "Look up monster." A monster is a thing, and things have no rights and can not own property. We are sentient beings, never human.
