I remember watching this every day after school on channel 11. After this, I would switch to Magilla Gorilla, then the Electric Company. I miss those days.
ha wasn't channel 11 wpix? in NYC? I was born and raised in the Bronx... and what you guys were watching is what I watched! Then later on in some years of early and mid 80's in the afternoons came he-man... GI Joe.... Transformers.. ahh those were the days. But i loved this show... i always felt sad as the doors would close :(
I had a little white miniature poodle that my sibling wanted to name after Magilla Gorilla. At that very moment, he broke off his leash and ran down the hallway like a bolt of lightning, bouncing off the walls three times, at which point I named him Ricky, short for Ricochet. Everyone who met him knew who he was named after.
I was born in 1970 LOVE this show.. I can't believe it..I seriously remember all the words from that last song..I wish so badly the kids today had this ..
+Jennifer Lawrence It would be a different world if they had this and the rest of our tv shows. Less profane. These woman put their souls into their work.
Kids today could use some gentle, old fashion kid shows like The Magic Garden, Joya’s Fun School, New Zoo Revue, Dusty’s Treehouse, and Gigglesnort Hotel!!!
Born in 65. Boy I tell ya my soul opened up when I saw this. Every show took me home to a place in my heart that will never be forgotten or replaced.. Life is a one shot deal. Remember your childhood days and your young school days. For they are some of your best days.....The Magic Garden. The question is Where are they now. Paula and Carole. Smh wow.....
Yeah, I really resonate with that. I was born in 68 and grew up in NYC but moved to Czechoslovakia permanently in 1991. There's a beautiful 1920s Czech song named "Nikdy Se Nevrati" ("Never To Return") which expresses that sentiment perfectly.
This makes me feel 4 years old again! Watching The Magic Garden was absolute bliss for me as a little kid. I loved everything about it! Thanks for posting this!
I use to watch this when I lived in NYC as a child. I'm 43, so this must of been the early 80's. It was the Magic gardens or Mr. Rogers. Thinking this must of been around 1981??? Wow, this got a tear in my eye. I just went back in time.
Omg, I forgot this show even existed. And yet, i remember every word to the song... I am totally time machine tripping right now. Thanks for the upload.
I watched this as a kid in Brooklyn NY in the 1970s, it was sweet, & I learned about the Hippie "Flower Power " era that was waning at this time. I had a crush on the girl that looked like Katherine Ross. I loved those sweet shows from back in the day, compare that to the sensational shows they show today in the same hour as the "Garden ",& you'll see why this generation is the way it is.
grew up watching the magic garden. while most were watching Mr. rogers. I had Paula and Carole.. I'm 44 now with a 5 year old daughter of my own. I'm showing her the magic garden. she loves it.
As a very small child I would watch both The Magic Garden and Mister Rogers, both had such a profound effect on my life as a small innocent child at that time.
This was one of my favorite shows in the 70s! I love the song they sing when the show is going off. Romper Room was another one of my favorite shows to watch as a kid. My how times have changed!
I'm 43 years old now and I grew up in Newark NJ, I used to watch this show on WPIX, it had such a profound effect on me growing up. Thank you for the upload :)
Seth Draven I lived in West New York, NJ and it had a very profound effect on me as well, Im 41 but I still dream about those doors opening and that pink shed too ❤
oh wow so glad that guy said tears came to his eyes, while watching magic garden, I started crying , got concerned , ha ha ha, no really , beautiful show, missed sorely ,
I remember seeing TMG in the early 70s... I was kind of too old for it, but my little brother and sister enjoyed watching it on a regular basis until we moved out of the NYC Metro area to the Midwest in late 1973...
Child of the 60's and 70s and oh how I loved this show on Channel 11 WPIX in NY. Growing up in the Bronx watching The Magic Garden, singing the songs and losing myself in that wonderful magical garden. Thank you for the wonderful memories.
I used to wake my kids up fairly regularly with the opening theme song. As they threw their pillows at me and held their ears. Haha. They never got to see the show but I told them all about it. I'm in my 50s now...I so miss being a little kid in the 70s. This show was one of my absolute favorites of my early life...coming home from kindergarten, grabbing a PB&J and a tall glass of milk, and watching the Magic Garden. Glad to see some younger folks have enjoyed it too.
55 Now... Loved this show & so many of the others that came on around that time like: howdy doody, sigmund the sea monster, hot fudge show, Captain Kangaroo, all of the Schoolhouse Rock stuff I could go on forever... 😊
Oh this show brought back so many memories! Wow! I can remember those songs, word for word and what was happening right at that time when I heard those words being sung by Paula & Carole. Unbelievable!!! So Amazed by the show creativity! ! Then & Now!!
I think you guys are thinking about that other lady with the mirror on Romper Room. I don't think the 2 beautiful hippie girls on Magic Garden called names, at least I don't remember them ever calling names.
I was laying in bed with insomnia and suddenly this show came to me. It was crazy to remember this after 40 years! Made me feel 5 years old again! Glad I’m not the only one who remembers this gem of a show.
This show was so awesome! Back in the day, all the kids (particularly the boys) were in one of two camps: Team Carole or Team Paula. Paula was pretty but I had a huge crush for Carole. I loved her so much. When I was six or seven I told my mom when I grow up I wanted to marry Carole.
omg you don't know how happy this show just made me I watched this show growing up I'm going to be 44 year old n I'm so happy right now thank you so much you made me a happy child in does day thanks to everyone that made this show happened
In the summer of the early 70's. At noon i watched the new zoo revue and the magic garden at 12:30. What a wonderful way for a kid to spend his lunchtime!
I simply adored this show growing up as a baby in the 70s and I recently googled and day two ladies are STILL FRIENDS !!!!!! The webpage said something about friends for 60 years! I think that is so lovely and amazing They also do tours or something I think it's great they have each other all this time
+lady boywonder Yes they are and I believe they still sing together too. At least they did a few years back. I first met them when I had kids myself and took my kids to one of their concerts. I didn't even know Paula was my cousin until I was a teen.
I have been searchibg for this show. I finally found it after searching and searchibg. I lived in Dutchess county when i was a kid. God i miss those days. But this show and others got my interest in music. Thanks to this show John Denver my Granddaf and Bill Keith i mastered the banjo
I watched this every afternoon when I was little. I saw them in concert in Brooklyn NY when I was 5 and got to meet them and got an autographed picture.
I remember this and the chuckle patch. I remember being at my grandmother’s watching this on an old black and white tv. It was such a simple feeling of elation. I will never forget.
I remember this show from my childhood. I watched it all the time when I was a kid in the 70's. I never ever thought I'd get to see it again. This is amazing. I actually remember the episodes with these songs in them.
I used to watch this program when I was 4 years old. I'm 48 now. I saw a clip in the movie " The Disappointments Room" starring Kate Beckinsale which lead me to this UA-cam search. Such fond childhood memories. The internet is a gift from God.
I also loved Carole! She always seems to be laughing at the goings on, as if you were part of some in joke or something. Paula was great with her guitar but Carole had my heart. They could really harmonize well together. This show was on 4 days a week on WPIX channel 11 in the NYC area. Long before Dora explored anything.
I remember watching this on WPIX 11 when I was a little kid. I am 40 now. I showed this to my mom today and she screamed out "THE GIRLS" she used love this show just as much as me!!! Great memories. As a Kid I remember going crazy when they went to the storybox.
Channel 11 New York ....1971...this takes me back to such wonderful memories...I wish I had a time machine to go back and visit......Thanks for the post!
Growing up in the 70's, this was one of my favorite kid shows!

See above. My white, fast-as-lightning miniature poodle was named Ricochet, after the character.
Born in 63. This show made me happy. Nobody is happy anymore.

It would be a different world if they had this and the rest of our tv shows. Less profane. These woman put their souls into their work.
This was awsome when I was a kid ....I loved it .
I wish Carol and Paula could see all the kids who were dedicated fans all grown up now and loving them just as much!
I’m 58 years old. I remember when this show started. We liked it a lot as kids.
I so wish shows were still like this.
Soonkie123 Yourself and millions of us baby-boomers! Today, it's all nonsensical trash.
I'm Gen X and I grew up on Bugs Bunny and Popeye.
