- The King is set to resume his public royal duties after showing positive progress in his cancer treatment, according to his medical team.
He has been receiving outpatient care since February and is still undergoing treatment, despite the encouraging news.
It will be a boost morale for the family, especially since both the King and the Princess of Wales have been diagnosed with cancer, with a spokesperson from Buckingham Palace stating that the medical team is pleased with the progress and the King can now take on some public duties while continuing treatment.

I agree, he didn't wait to work, he has had a load of great ideas way ahead of his time (and they called him crazy) but now everyone is on the same bandwagon, farming organic, sustainable, etc...
Even when it’s meant the nicest way possible, I hate when people say that and always have. It does imply that he was waiting with bated breath for his mother to pass away.
He was probably the most consequential Prince of Wales ever not just because he held the title for the longest time from the youngest age, but bc of everything he did to help generations up and coming to break the cycle of poverty and from their youth build up businesses based on their own dreams. Many have come back to say we’ve been in business since you helped us with that Grant 40 years ago and now we’ve got XYZ going on and it’s expanded hugely. The ones I’ve seen have always been nothing but grateful and thankful. Not only that but he put the properties that he owned to use to grow food and things that he sold and everything went to charity. Just like William will now be using. I think it’s 200 acres in the duchy of Cornwall along with maybe some other entities pitching in to build housing for homeless people.
In some ways, you can do more as the Prince of Wales, then as the king. I would say he was always learning from and watching his mum and certainly in the last number of years of her life was definitely being shown everything he might need to know and preparing for the inevitable one day. I don’t think he wanted it to happen any sooner; but that does not mean he couldn’t look forward to the day when he would put his mark on the monarch’s position.
He’s a little Pale from what I’ve seen when we’ve seen him these days, but I don’t think he’s ever looked more Ill then at his parents funerals.

I see your point but, I think you may be misinterpreting nat58968's comment. As the Prince of Wales, Charles worked on issues he was passionate about. He was also careful not to upstage the Monarch. I think what not58968 meant by "waiting" was that Charles was waiting, and rightfully so, for his turn to put his passions front and center. I don't believe anyone is implying that Charles was sitting on his hands, waiting for the Queen to pass.

No he doesn't look ill. He is having chemo which makes one nauseous so he is probably just eating less. The minute he's off chemo he will put on weight. He may now be finished with the first course so he feels stronger.
Christo, that is normal with chemo. One feels under the weather if you lucky or like death warmed up, if you draw the short straw.
I would suggest he falls in the 1st category. There's nothing stopping him from taking cat nap if it's required. He has good genes, discipline & work ethic from both his late parents. They're not sissies!

Charles hasn’t been waiting his entire life to be king! His mother became Queen when she was 25. He has had a role for his entire life and has recently transitioned into his current position which is just the natural progression. Well said. Our late Majesty referred to her time as heir to the throne as an apprenticeship and felt hers was sadly far too short. King Charles has had a long apprenticeship and that is why he is so comfortable with the responsibility now on his shoulders. I am just so sad he became ill so soon after. Long live the King.

I think the King and Camilla have received very encouraging news about his state of health, hence the locking of arms and the look on the Queen's face, a very happy smile and as if a great weight has been lifted off her shoulders. All the best to them both and to the PoW.

KInsey, I don't think it's a question of being a Royal reporter. Americans tend to speak about their private lives quite openly at work, with strangers. Europeans and Brits tend to keep their privacy private. Different mentality. But when it comes to donating money for example, Americans get into the act very quickly.
