that background sound is so 2016 asmr. maybe that's why i used to get lots of tingles before, not now as everyone uses "professional equipments" to cancel out the noise

I know this comment is 3 weeks old, but if you don't watch Patrick's Asmr I definitely recommend checking him out. All his videos are pretty lofi and not over produced with high quality equipment. You might fancy his videos. Even does some outside so you'll hear some peaceful nighttime outside noises

God ive had the same thought for ages. dont get me wrong, i do enjoy when the asmrtist is aware and gets rid of like. the charger ringing or somehting in the bg, my hearing is absurd so that drives me nuts. but something about the casual hum of quietness, of stillness. That quiet youre not quite used to, like the quiet at your nans house or a friends. It feels like like being prodded in a lab and more like chatted to by a friend.

4:29, the part where you're playing with background noise, it's a trigger but it's really rare! i've always found it super relaxing. there's an old video from a channel called asmr engineering titled something like "messing with ambient pink noise" that does this effect. there used to be a video from frank asmr where he experimented with it as well but im not sure if it was reuploaded after he deleted his channel/videos.
i think the key to it being louder/more noticeable is to have a decently loud amount of background noise. it would be cool if you tried doing a video with it!

Mr. Whisperful (a British dude) posted videos/audios of him whispering, writing & then a hair-cutting role play. Its been a thing for ppl but it didn't catch on until later. I was teased by my brother for being like “I get tingles from whispers” and now he listens to Reiki Asmr videos😏😆🤫. Btw Good video. ASMR is best in the most simple form, imo.
