There are some signs that the Mothership and Replicator challenges may be repurposed story mode levels. They are the only two challenges (aside from the rail shooters) where the announcer does not say "get ready to crumble" as the challenge is beginning. The objectives listed in the pause screen for both challenges are in all caps and in a blue font, unlike all of the other challenges. They also are not called "challenges" in the game files, and they both had music composed specifically for them which later got repurposed into the game's fight themes. On top of that, every mission and challenge are assigned an ID number. Replicator and Mothership are assigned IDs 5 and 7 respectively, while every other challenge is assigned an ID from 64 to 77. 5 and 7 are within the range of IDs assigned to the game's story levels. For example, the Escape level is 1, the Carnival level is 4, and Mt. Fuji is 9.
I don't know why but it feels like I have a memory of playing as her when I was little, it never happened obviously, but it definitely feels like I did play as Biollante back then, weird feeling?
When I tried to actually play against her in vs COM I found that it seemed as though she didn't have functioning AI. Could've been a normal glitch though?
Yeah, she doesn't work properly when the AI plays as her. The reason for this is that the script that assigns AI to the COM players checks for specific monster names, like "Godzilla2k" or "Gigan", and then assigns them a specific type of AI based on that name. This script does not check for any characters named "Biollante", so she never gets assigned any type of AI and ends up idling for the whole match. I'm not sure why the AI likes to activate and deactivate her tentacle turrets repeatedly though.
Huh, that's funny. When I played as her years ago back in like.. 2021, I think? The game would crash on starting a certain challenge level on a certain difficulty, think it was demolition or something.
That used to happen to me too. I think it had something to do with the old method of restoring Biollante by replacing MKG. When we first started working on STEM, I discovered that the game requires the files in GODZILLA.VOL to be stored in a specific order (mostly alphabetical, but underscores are stored before letters). Replacing every "mghidorah" string with "biollante" messes with that order, and I guess the game is unable to read certain files because of that.
It was planned to be part of a bigger mod I'm working on for GU, but here are just the rage-enabled character bundles: drive.google.com/file/d/1jBnRO7MfTzcGNLqWoDHik8IDjr-1WpQP/view?usp=sharing You will need QuickBMS, an ISO rebuilder (like ImgBurn), and this script for QuickBMS in order to install the mod: drive.google.com/file/d/1FwEPs02UECfjOr9raPZZMdhY-beg4fkB/view If you need help installing it, this video guide basically covers the process. Just substitute the Biollante files for the ones in the GU zip and "GODZILLA.VOL" with "GZ3PS2.VOL". ua-cam.com/video/5-mXx2I0dBM/v-deo.html
