Hi! What is the white base coat? And how did you apply it? Also do you just seal your items with wax or some kind of top coat with brush? This piece is gorgeous!!

Hi Laura, the base coat is actually Schoolboy Blue by Valspar (it is pale blue and looks white as a base coat when applied to the dark finish.) I used a custom blue color mix to achieve the darker blue. I used chalk paint, so the whole piece was sealed with a clear wax.
