The technivore mocha Master was honestly the worst cup of coffee I have ever had! It tasted like mud. It didn't matter what I did, the coffee was consistently bad and I finally got fed up in returned it. I will never buy a technivorm again.
I lucked into a deal on one of these about 10 years ago. I think it must have been an Amazon return and got it for a ridiculous price at a place that bought and sold those types of things in Stillwater OK. I've had to bypass the switch that senses the presence of the carafe because it was problematic. Other than that, its been pretty bulletproof. What's the best way to clean the carafe because I get off flavors on coffee that sits in the carafe regardless. I know it's the carafe because the first cup, when it comes out, tastes great as long as it does not sit too long in the carafe. Usually by the time I brew a whole pot, it's too long and has that taste. I guess maybe I need to try cleaning the carafe more and ofter, but what's the best way to get rid of the oils (assuming that's the issue)?
I believe its the oils as you suspected. I too taste a difference in coffee that has sat in the urn for hours. I use Urnex Tabz F61 weekly... if i miss a week or two, it may take a second dose.

These things happen, what brewer/method brought you satisfaction?
