I'm so glad someone finally picked up on the original "Commit it to memory" line. I recently replayed GBA COM and noticed that, I was hoping more people would remember. Or should I say Committed it to memory.
Fun Fact: The Japanese version of CoM for the GBA actually had quotes as well, but for the western releases all but laughs and grunts were removed. IIRC these voices were not done by the character's later VAs but by Square Enix employees
(3:46) usually some bosses always have two (GBA) to three (ReCoM) sleights alongside their attack and support cards. But Axel here was almost the only opponent to shown two noble sleights, though his firetooth does making it up a few variants of attacks. (comparably to the other organizations and Ansem since they have three separate named sleights in their battles, except for Vexen which he has four in both encounters with Sora and Riku)
Yeah, that's what I noticed too. The only exception to the quotes (or at least an obvious one) seems to be "Let the flames burn you!", which is brand new as far as I'm aware.
I used to dislike Axel's keyblade for only having one chakram, but formchanging into his usual two, but with the four chakrams in mind, I guess it's okay.
on gba fire tooth has a version where it wil spin around sora getting closser and closer every time you can dodge it but the timmimg is kinda difficult
Difficulty-wise in GBA, he's not *that* difficult. You can sleight-cheese him in his 2nd fight, but players could be easily burnt in the first fight if they aren't careful. I also love his fights though Firetooth in GBA is impossible to dodge through, forcing you to choices: take the hit, break the sleight, or use Red Nocturne or Magician enemy cards (as they give you increased resistance to fire and magic attacks respectively). BTW I've completed the entirety of GBA CoM, completing SS at Lv85 and maxed it out to Lv99, and R/R at 55.
I’ve actually noticed the backgrounds where the fight the bosses are different in the gba and ps2 versions. Anyone else pick up on this? In gba you’re in the usual hallway, and in ps2 you’re on that pedestal thing.
1:39 it can be quite confusing since Keyblade Master is now a title, but back then it simply referred to owner of the keyblade, in italian to make it way simpler, tha translation used the word "hero" instead of master
I do wonder if the unique lines were actually voiced during the development of the “Original” Re:Com, and then never used, because they didn’t fully localize it. Or whether the voicework was done for kh1.5
I never really had problems with those large reward gates because Random Jokers auto complete any severely obnoxious ones, which by late game I always had more than enough of Also Larxene is easy in every game…except CoM
I hope you take the time to highlight the voice clips from the GBA version in the future, too. We can't let Vexen's noble laugh go unappreciated!
I'll keep that in mind for the future!
I personally think chain of memories is so underrated so I’m really excited you’re doing this series!
Thanks! I do too and even the first fight had a lot of cool details in it so I am really looking forward to the rest of the fights!

Oooh that's really interesting! I didn't realize that
Whenever I make a DnD character I like them to use a specific weapon in a similar way to an org 13 member, so this is gonna be awesome to me!
Love this. Can't wait to see more out of this series!
Thank you! I played ReCoM (again) two months ago and searched for bosses breakdowns but found none. As always, you're great!

While none of animations seem to come from KH2 (which also surprised me), the actual battle quotes do seem to be from 2. Which is interesting.
Yeah right? I noticed that when I was grabbing footage to cross ref. Seems like a lot more work to go and make completely new animations!
Yeah, that's what I noticed too. The only exception to the quotes (or at least an obvious one) seems to be "Let the flames burn you!", which is brand new as far as I'm aware.
Yess! Always wanted a chain of memories animation breakdown. Great content 💯💯💯
Great video! Also glad you liked my Axel take, thanks for including it!
Commit it to memory > Got it Memorized
We all know Axel is gonna be a great character when his first line is "Hello!" when greeting Sora.
A new Bio video? A blessing from the lord!
I'm so glad it hit your recommendations! :> Hope ya enjoy it!
God bless you for all the work this took
Thanks! ;-;
Wow, this must have taken a lot of effort! Thank you!
this was so interesting, excited for the larx breakdown^^
Thanks! :> Already hard at work on the larxene one!
Oooooooooo a new break down series!
Haven't gotten far in CoM but this is really neat!
The black cards in the main decks of the bosses is most likely the reload card, even though Sora's is white (seen in the final Marluxia fight).
Goated video
Looking forward to the savage live whire Larxine hopefully we won't get zapped by a stray bolt
She is no joke. Just finished gathering the footage and hoo boy was it a little rough haha
Fire wall can't be dodged in re:com but can be card broken.
Oh great! Thanks for the clarification. I thought I had heard somewhere it could be dodged but maybe they were talking about the GBA version.
I used to dislike Axel's keyblade for only having one chakram, but formchanging into his usual two, but with the four chakrams in mind, I guess it's okay.
Two of the quotes Axel said is in KH2FM
on gba fire tooth has a version where it wil spin around sora getting closser and closer every time you can dodge it but the timmimg is kinda difficult
Ooh really? I know that happens in the kh2 fight against armored xemnas but I didn’t realize it could happen in the gba version
@@BioRoxas trust me i played the hell lot of gba com XD
@@BioRoxas as someone who has played through Sora's route 4 times (beat it 3 curse you repliku 4) this is true

Can’t wait for you to do Vexen.
Love this.:D

Zexion would be extremely interesting to see since he steals cards.
Curious how you'll cover all of that.
Yeah I'm curious too xD haha That one will be interesting. I feel like a lot of Riku's will be interesting to capture haha

Love ur podcast on the millennium microphone and I never knew the remake improved things(granted not a kh fan )
I am a simple person I see gba chain in a thumbnail I click video
You specified that beating him a second time earns you the support card in the remake, but this was actually true in both versions.
3:41 that's not a support (ability) card , that's the reload counter.
in hindsight, while I like his fights in 2, its disappointing that we never get to fight Luxord with this fighting system
Have you thought of using 0 cards whenever he did that ultimate fire attack ?
Yeah I meant dodging through without breaking the card.
Oh ok
I defeated axel using a mix of lethal frames, enhanced blizzagas and dumbo
Larxene shoved kids into lockers.
As an adult.
Average KH2 fanboy: 🤓
Average CoM enjoyer: 😎
I do wonder if the unique lines were actually voiced during the development of the “Original” Re:Com, and then never used, because they didn’t fully localize it.
Or whether the voicework was done for kh1.5
Maybe a bit of both. Cause some voice lines seem directly pulled from OG 2, while some are completely new.
Yeah that's a good question!
I never really had problems with those large reward gates because Random Jokers auto complete any severely obnoxious ones, which by late game I always had more than enough of
Also Larxene is easy in every game…except CoM
Yeah thankfully my last playthrough I had a joker but not this time :
Really? I typically have like 7 or so. What difficulty you on? My latest ones have been beginner for achievement hunting
Watching someone dodge firetooth lvl2 after spending the last past decade thinking it was a broken unblockable attack, really does it to your ego
it's pronounced "slight" as in "sleight of hand"
Larxene be super grouchy cuz she never got a chance to show off her Keyblade in Ux.
I think it's pronouned "slights" like a sleight of hand.
Laraxine is the only woman in organization 13 and is raked 12 only higher than roxas this is blatant discrimination and I will help her sue
We all know Axel is gonna be a great character when his first line is "Hello!" when greeting Sora.
