One of my favorite hymns. When i was a teenager some 50 years ago, I used to practice the organ at St.Batholomew´s in NYC . A great organ. I played many of NYC church organs back then. I had a skeleton key that fit most consoles, so I would visit and sit and play some times for a couple of hours. No one every complained, only to say how nice my playing was then. I really loved playing the hymns from the 1940 hymnal. So much so, when I played at St. Andrew's church downtown near the courts, I kept a 1940 hymnal on the console for years. I wonder if it is still there today¿ Back then all the churches were open during the day. Fond memories of playing the great organs of NYC. Always in my heart and memories.
I wish more churches were willing to let upcoming organist practice. I was apart of the Long Island Diocese and those churches were strict about who they let play. I currently practice at Intercession in Manhattan and they have been nothing but kind folk
I sang along today, 2 October 2015. (Memorial of The Guardian Angels, in the Catholic Tradition.) This was a suggested hymn for the Office of Reading in today's LOTH
Joe NYC...Thanks for posting these videos. I have not had the chance to get to the city to see the redesigned St. Bart's. I'm not one for change but I like the new look. Keep the videos coming.

Old #600 in the 1940 Hymnal is a splendid art of prayer and spirit-filled Faith. Saint Bartholomew's performs "Darwall" beautifully. Thank you.
Most enjoyable. A 'real good sing' and a splendid hymn. Uplifting!
Thank you, Joseph Solero.
Amen. Fond memories of my chapel choir days. Thanks for posting
