    Excellent lesson. Of course, glazing has been around since the Renaissance, but Cindy makes it accessible.

    Booy. I just marvel at how this painting goddess evolved out of Cindy Imus from our 8th grade art class with Mr Marvin. Beautiful work. And she still has a good natured sense of humor.

    I watching on Sunday the 17 th. Love Cindy’s works and I totally agree that her lesson Elegant Landscapes is chock full of brilliance. This novice oil painter learned so many valuable tips and techniques. Her color mixes, her underpainting -all of it. She gives so much amazing information in that lesson.
    Thank you Cindy. More lessons from Cindy please!!

    Xcelnt video, and Cindy is lovely! I’m an acrylic artist and have recently been doing glazing in my landscape and other genres. I was inspired by the work of Maxfield Parrish, who used glazing in many of his great oil paintings. I got some great ideas from watching Cindy at work.

    I do these glazes. I was a water colorist for 30 years. I use ultramarine blue, or transparent earth red to cool or warm areas. The danger in glazing getting too dark when they dry. They have to be very thin. Do not use mediums that yellow over time.

    So, would it be correct to call the final painting…..Tonalist? The paintings shown sure look like it

    • @LyubomirIko
      @LyubomirIko Рік тому +1

      Yeah, it does bring a lot of that school. The same glazing technique is definitely used by them a lot. I think the pinnacle of their tonal philosophy is a bit more extreme however. I think some of their ideas were to bring the values more closer, in a way to kill the wide dynamic range here in order to made bold and more dramatic contrast. Or to key the painting in the darks or in the lights more prominently.
