She’s adding that afternoon glow. Good teacher, thanks
Excellent lesson. Of course, glazing has been around since the Renaissance, but Cindy makes it accessible.
I never thought I would see heartpounding action in a process of painting ..but...OMG...Cindy Baron just spun me in circles of fright and horror and delight ALL at once...lol...lol...Thank you Cindy! I have so so enjoyed this show .....
Looking forward to this! Glazes to brighten light and enhance color is what I want to know.
I think her painting came more alive!😳👏🏻❤
“Your duds are your blessings!!!” Best perspective. Thank you 🙏🏻 🎉
Looks like it adds harmony to the whole painting
This is Jennifer from Long Island . Cindy is my favorite artist. I have bought her dvd .
Yep, definitely trying this on my phthalo-stained garish flops. Thanks for brining in Cindy Baron - her work is amazing.
Love this!
That technique really brightens the highlights
Wow beautiful
Booy. I just marvel at how this painting goddess evolved out of Cindy Imus from our 8th grade art class with Mr Marvin. Beautiful work. And she still has a good natured sense of humor.
OMG I’m blown away
I saw her technique with watercolor on Watercolor Live and lived it. This inspires me to work worth oils again!
Thank you both! I have been glazing to harmonize, too! Loved watching you work, Cindy! Have a nice painting day! I am from Idaho...
Happy to be here
There’s a warmth that’s created that really brings the painting to life. Great tip to make a very good painting into a beautiful painting. Thank you.
I watching on Sunday the 17 th. Love Cindy’s works and I totally agree that her lesson Elegant Landscapes is chock full of brilliance. This novice oil painter learned so many valuable tips and techniques. Her color mixes, her underpainting -all of it. She gives so much amazing information in that lesson.
Thank you Cindy. More lessons from Cindy please!!
I Love to learn!
Thankyou.Great demonstration.
What a difference the glazing makes.
Watching from Ireland.
Thank you so much! So inspirational! Thank you, Cindy for being so generous with your knowledge and talent!
Wow, such a difference! Beautiful! Thank you both.
Wow Cindy. Love this.
So gorgeous and what a difference
Like Eric I thought the original was perfect but after the glazing Wow! Thank you so much for sharing Just beautiful 😍 ( from Australia) xx
This is amazing. It’s a completely different feeling.
Wonderful
Hello from Lowell Indiana! Much appreciated Cindy Baron for the great tips and thank you Eric Rhoads for having her on here.
Hello from Jamestown NY! I have seen Cindy glaze before, but still scared!
Absolutely amazing. I learned so much. Thank you for sharing your gift.
Amazing work thankyou Cindy
Love this so much. I am going to try this on one of my paintings. I think it would make it more alive. Thank you Cindy!
Who knew that scary could be so inspiring and educational.
Amazing! I am learning so much!
I’ve never tried glazing. I do love dramatic atmospheres. I’ve a feeling that glazing just might launch my paintings to the next level. Thanks!
אדיר❣️
טכניקה יוצאת מהכלל. משנה את הציור לגמרי.
ומעניין מאד ❤
Amazing process
Xcelnt video, and Cindy is lovely! I’m an acrylic artist and have recently been doing glazing in my landscape and other genres. I was inspired by the work of Maxfield Parrish, who used glazing in many of his great oil paintings. I got some great ideas from watching Cindy at work.
Keep up this amazing channel!
Thank you.
Excited to learn how to glaze to enhance my paintings. Thanks! Debbie Rank, Farmington, NM
Watched the recorded version. I own Cindy’s video and just watched it again last week - learned so much from her. Would she be interested in doing a mountain video in the future?
Love it from South Africa
I’m really enjoying this!
I love glazing especially when using watercolours, turns the finish to highly polished glass due to its transparent properties
Gracias,hermosa tecnica
This is fascinating. l will be digging out a dud today! Thank you.
Brilliant
I am amazed at the improved painting. I wish acrylic could be glazed.
I do these glazes. I was a water colorist for 30 years. I use ultramarine blue, or transparent earth red to cool or warm areas. The danger in glazing getting too dark when they dry. They have to be very thin. Do not use mediums that yellow over time.
Hi Eric I like your shows
This was very informative
Have never seen this process done before. Have heard of artist glazing painting to change atmosphere.
It takes TIME TO LEARN because you gotta TRY IT OUT FIRST.
Thank you for the demonstration. Wonderful technique! Where can I get the mop brush? I haven’t seen one like that before
Mundy Mop is from Rosemary and Co. Wonderful brushes
Greetings fellow Artist from Woodinville Washington
I’m trying this on my flops
im not familiar with Richeson oil. is that the brand or the color??
❤
😊
i am a watercolorist..so….what do I do to get this atmosphere?
I’m confused about how this is following the fat over lean principle for oils. So it’s ok to use Gamsol on the final layers?
How are you cleaning mop brush each time you change the color? Looks like you are going really fast
Oh my God
What brand is shiva orange??
I thought the second glaze was going to turn the building into a slaughter house but NO it was great!
What medium is she using with S. Orange?
Do you ever get voids in the glaze, where the glaze color is too thin or shows the Kleenex path?
How can I buy the value glasses? Beverly Eames
Hi Beverly! You can find them here: painttube.tv/products/paint-by-note-red-glasses
What is galcon light? Google isn't telling me anything about it!
It’s galkyd light.
Wonderful technique but very scary.
So, would it be correct to call the final painting…..Tonalist? The paintings shown sure look like it
Yeah, it does bring a lot of that school. The same glazing technique is definitely used by them a lot. I think the pinnacle of their tonal philosophy is a bit more extreme however. I think some of their ideas were to bring the values more closer, in a way to kill the wide dynamic range here in order to made bold and more dramatic contrast. Or to key the painting in the darks or in the lights more prominently.
😊i😊 am 😊in😊need 😊of😊 VALUE SPECS PLEASE😊I😊AM😊A 😊FRESH😊ARTIST😊MY STUDIO😊IS 95% ❤complete Thankyou!! God bless
Glad I didn't throw all those duds out...there's hope for them yet
What orange.....unclear
Oh my gosh she ruined the painting.
She ruined the painting
