I have a game group I play D&D, mansions of madness, etc with. We recently added commander to the rotation. We decided to make it a rule to play with precon decks as is in order to keep the cost from spiraling out of control and to keep the playing field relatively equal for the players new to the game. It's actually added a whole new dynamic to the game for me as I find it fun to really lay out a deck and learn what it WANTS to do and also consider all the commander options in it and how they change how the deck plays. Very fun
I am so here for this. The precon reviews that I've completed on the channel have really helped me as a player, being able to see the threads of a deck, what works, what doesn't, it's made me a better builder. My favourite build at the moment is my Liberty Prime pulled together from just the four Fallout precons. Working with a limited pool of cards is oddly freeing!
I made a Missy deck with the Cybermen cards from Masters of Evil and the Morph creatures from the Kadena precon from all those years ago; Missy has an interesting, borderline abusive synergy with Morph creatures. Such a good feeling when unused cards from an old precon are now used to construct a new unique deck.
I immediately went off to explore the Missy morph interaction and won't lie, it took me a moment to understand it but when I did . . . . JEEZ that is some good stuff! Glad the unused cards found a home!
Privilege is the word! Oh woe is me and my piles of expensive cardboard 😂. I'd like to say it will stop but I'm sitting in a Fallout gaming chair so you can imagine my excitement for March's precon release!
Glad it's been helpful. There's a few cards that create power 2 plus creature tokens like Jadar, Ghoulcaller of Nephalia, Brudiclad etc - just be careful you don't put in too many non artifact creatures. Bloodghast is power 2 and comes back from the graveyard when you play lands so good repeatable sac fodder - as is Bloodsoaked champion and Necrons with 'unearth'. Baleful Strix is an excellent artifact creature to copy with casualty - deathtouch and draws you a card. If you want to lean into tokens - Mirkwood Bats, Junk Winder. Cyberdrive Awakener is a great finisher. These are just off the top of my head. Also, you could go with a treasure theme - red and black do this well - and make Ashad huge! Marionette Master is amazing!
They're deck boxes from Temu for baseball cards - you get them in a 6 pack. I have trouble keeping track of my decks so having them with clear packaging really helps.

@@mtgspecs agreed, it feels like a mini game within a game 😆 what can I do with what I have here alone
Oops, I erased my heart with a spell check edit 😂

Haha I have found myself doing this for about the last 6 set releases. Glad somebody else has the same problem (privilege?) as me!

Torment of hellfire, exanguinate, portal to phyrexia, Clark clan iron works, cyclonic rift.

What kind of deck boxes are those that you have?

You’ve made some precons very happy today 🫶🏼
I've given them a second chance, a place to call a home. The Nobel Peace Prize people can send me over my trophy whenever. I'm not busy.
