I bought the nordisk voss 20 si and the troms mesh cabin for a bike trip next month. I chose the 20m² version because I can protect myself from heavy wind and rain, by making an A-shape setup over the mesh tent, and then also close 1 or 2 sides in front and back. In a longer rainy period I can store and dry my stuff and live and cook underneath the tarp. Still wondering which poles I would take along. I have walking poles, and also the dac pole set. I think I will bring the dac set. When I want the front and back side of the tarp closed, then I have to place the poles underneath the tarp, where there's no protection pad for the tarp. Therefore, I'm thinking to make silicone topcaps for the poles to protect the tarp. I use a small woodgas stove for cooking, and to warm my hands. I never had a situation where I didn't find dry sticks. I just need a handful to boil a liter of water with this energy efficient collapsible stove and energy efficient aluminum kettle with a heat exchanger on the bottom. I have an omnifuel stove, but I never use it. I love the simple concept of the woodgas stove.
I wish you made an outer pitch first dome tent. Like an updated Finmark.
