Thanks bro! Unfortunately my gopro dies after 35m of filming in the cold. So a lot of the session isn't captured :( Let's hope for some warm temperatures soon!
How to learn if I don't always have access to the water? I mean, first of all I want to go to a field and learn to make the kite go one direction or another. If I go in the water I will be there all the time, because I will try to maneuver the kite. One time I was going with my fat bike to the river (about 20-30 minutes to ride) and I saw a guy with a kite and ski on the field covered by snow. I was watching him and I said : I want it. Few months later I found someone selling all his equipment not far from me, by 2000$. Before pulling the trigger I want to know how to find videos on YT on how to manage kite before going to the lake/river/etc. Any advice?
Hi bro! So if you are not sure yet, buy a trainer kite first WITH BAR. The bar is a must (so no handles attached to your lines). Try to fly it on an open field if there is some wind. It will fly with barely any wind and it will be a very forgiving way to start flying a kite. I strongly disadvice you to try flying a real big kite without an instructor. Usually beginners think it's easier on land, but if we fly a big kite for the first time it will always be in water, after getting experience with a trainerkite. With a hard surface area underneath, you will get yourself hurt if you make a mistake, which will happen for sure while learning. Also seach for a local kitesurf facebook group and ask for advice. Kitesurfing is all about sharing the elements with each other and I'm sure they could advice you about a nice kiteschool or second-hand trainerkites/real kite gear. If you have any questions, don't be shy to reach out once again! Cheers buddy!
