"i am done with doing stupid shit"🤨 immediately proceeds to fly over a swamp full of alligators with absolute no way out alive in case the engine quits haha 🤣 thats our chucky! i hear you about doing this journey mostly all by yourself. i also had no real teacher here and the guy who took my money but actually never let me fly teach me nothing useful at all. in the end i had to watch videos over and over, analyzing every second of them. download them. made slowmotion clips to study flaring on landings. yet here i am. more confident than ever but with less flights than i wish i would have and i build my own DIY electric paramotor. i love flying and it changed my life in the best way possible. i am more relaxed after a flight and that lasts almost a week every time. my biggest goal is to touch clouds one day. thats the only reason i learn to fly. i dont care about acro or cross country. one day i will make it up there... one day
I started taking foot launch training and when the instructor wasn't around I ran across the field with the wing over my head. The moment he started staring at me I couldn't do it anymore. Lol
Self Taught as well on Blackhawk Airmax 220 on a Lowboy II quad and Velocity core wing. Had a guy show me the basics of set up and equipment and was thankful for that. Afterwards, 1st kiting, then rolling the low boy down the field with wing overhead, then to lift off, cruise, and landing. Once in the air, very intuitive as what to do vs. not to do. I fly a large wing, 42m velocity core, made for tandems on the quad, which is a real reach in my opinion. I've seen it done by a friend on their (same ) rig and the CG is all wonky. But I am 245lbs so works out well for me to just fly it solo. Big guy, big wing, quad cart, Airmax 220 motor, so lots to lift. Enjoy it a lot when weather cooperates. I've had motorcycles, boats, 4x4s etc and nothing compares to cruising along at 2k ft just soaking in the earth and sky. That is my game. Low and slow, easy turns, low stress. That is why I got into it. I Find a lot of people are gatekeepers or want you to pay a lot of money for their guidance. I'd teach anyone what I know today for free. It grows the sport and we are still in our infancy.
I've been with you from the beginning. The only thing that has worried me about your flights is that you like to fly over open water a lot. That scares me more than it does you, lol.
I taught myself how to drive a manual, how to ride a motorcycle and most recently an ultralight helicopter, never really had any issues… i just don’t see the point in spending $2k when all the information is online
Is the selfie stick designed not to show in the video it takes? How are you getting the stick not to show in the inset video? Anyway, absolutely terrifying, as with all things unfamiliar.
yes i got the same cam and when you screw it on a stick which is slightly smaller diameter than the camera it will blend the stick out make it look like its floating.
Thank for sharing man! Sure wish I could sky dive and fly! I used to.. both shoulders are completely shot from injuries now unfortunately. Great upload my friend👊
Thanks for this. Yes would love to know a decent instructor class that’s not crazy pricey and popular. So if you have any recommendations I’m sure it’s not just me who’d love to know. I hear it’s around 10K for training and gear altogether. Wonder if that’s true…
Wow, slow climb rate. You must be flyin' a little wing? I elected to find a local'ish instructor who ran a pretty loose ship. Not only did he keep me from quitting, he helped me get in the air, and became one of my best friends. The amount I had to pay him, was paltry and he helped me one-on-one at my own pace. Im a tough student and Im forever thankful for his help. I tried to kite w/o any instruction and quickly realized I should probably find a pilot to help. Thanks for the vid, entertaining as usual. Watch for them birds. I can only assume a prop wouldnt like meeting one...
You have come a long way. I’m just glad you wear shoes on ALL of your flights! Lol. Thanks for the nice video and honest reflection on your flying career so far. Stay safe.
check out what i have done. i am 300lbs and 6´3. you might be better off with a trike. its super hard to run with a heavy machine on your back but possible if you have serious power
You are entertaining, thanks for sharing your origin story and that training is recommended. Let's hear more about your lessons learned. I think it will be very relatable within the ppg community.
@@ChuckyWrightThanks. Here Nemo Xx same story. Better learn alone, but Any experiece With instructor are long then 2h xd. Happy landings from country where Dudek is factory. Nemo XX 31m2
Similar situation for me at the moment. 15 years of sky diving and 6 years of BASE jumping, I'm not paying £2000 for a week long course and being thrown in with others that have never even been under canopy before. Just done 2 days of ground handling with a mate, landed a mates tandem twice...just ordered my Paramotor and will be going Solo in the next couple of weeks.
Same here. 30m velocity core with Airmax 220. Kited for a year or so before I even put the motor on my back. Finally got in the air with help from the best Paramotor pilot in the world, Anthony Vella with West Texas Paramotor.

truly the most beautiful experience their is.
I’m trying to get into it as we speak… don’t want to pay 3-4K to learn

yeah it can be a worry at times.

what he said
Good video, good explanation about your path into the sport.
Get some flotation, so you don't drown if the engine quits.
Thank for sharing man! Sure wish I could sky dive and fly! I used to.. both shoulders are completely shot from injuries now unfortunately. Great upload my friend👊
Sailplanes can be fun. No need for strong shoulders other than assembling but you could get help.
thanks brother and get a trike
The views look amazing as always.
They are!
People always scare the sh*t out of people who wants to teach themselves. Did you have any accidents during the process and afterwards?
nope none but im athletic
Was that a little shade being thrown in Tucker's direction or am I reading a bit too much into it?
nah not hate whatsoever. can't hate someone I've never met
@@ChuckyWright
Didn't say you hated him. Just sounded like you weren't the biggest fan in your tone when you mentioned him.
Can you try 3m selfie stick with insta360 x3 camera? Probably nice pov seeing everthing and csn also reframe
yeah I can get it

its 15k for gear and training. if you are really needing any help come down to Florida and lets fly
Any reason you fly the speedster 3 over sirocco 3. I’m debating on which wing next.
I wanted the tea her weight material for my takeoff locations!
