- Check out this review of what was my new-to-me MTD Kingston Saratoga 5! This bass can do it all, especially with the upgraded Bartolini pickups and preamp...It's a freakin' beast!
Made this video back in fall 2022 and completely forgot to post it. I had just had a baby and still wasn't getting much sleep...hence the hair and very melancholy tone! 🥱😆
Also, string spacing...I say inches on the video, but mean millimeters. 😵💫
I think the eq is not supposed to work when on passive mode. Just blend and volume
Bass sounds amazing great video
Awesome tone mate!
GOOD LOOKING MY BROTHER THANKS FOR THAT INFO…
Cutting 🔥🔥🔥
Thanks man! I threw some Rotosound Swing Bass Steels on it and the tone is just so fat now...She's a keeper!
@@C_Dot3 I would definitely play it on my big gigs or studio
@@C_Dot3 Question bro, .... Where you can get bartolini and who can put it in?
@@jerrickharris8124 You can get the Bartolini pickups and preamps from Guitar Center, Sweetwater, or other online music stores. As far as install, check around for local bass luthiers, but if all else fails, your local Guitar Center should have a Tech that can install them.
Can you let me know for sure which pickups and preamp you have? I wan to compare it with what came stock on my bass. Sounds killer.
It's the Bartolini NTMB-F preamp with 5 pots/1 3-way toggle (bartolini.net/product/ntmb/) with the Standard 5-String Short Classic Pickups...Pretty sure they are the Dual-Coil J-Bass, as I've heard no hum from them whatsoever... (bartolini.net/product/59cbjd3/) Hope that helps!
🤔Hmmmm. I have then NTMB-918FL with an NTMB3 and I think a DTA 1.x or 918 Buffer. I also have the 59CBJD’s. So pretty similar stuff, but I think yours sounds waaaaaay better than mine. I have 3 knobs and a toggle switch.
@@Omardottcom I just went on the website to compare...It looks like the NTMB-FL is geared towards fretless players and a warmer, bassy-mid-forward tone. It has less decibels of boost/cut in the bass, mids, and highs than the NTBM-F. And although the bass and mids set at the same frequency in each, the treble in yours is at only at 6.5KHz while mine is at 10KHz, giving a lot more bright highs. Swapping that out for the NTMB-F is the move if you can. But you could also just cut your mids on the bass and amp and boost highs on the amp to get a similar tone. bartolini.net/product/ntmb/ Good luck!
@@C_Dot3 what amp/speakers are you running through?
@@Omardottcom TC Electronic BH800 amp and TC Electronic RS112 cab.
