    Broderick Jones didnt struggle his rookie year. Once he was plugged in the starting lineup the Steelers ranked 2nd in the league in rushing...only behind the Ravens.

    I have hated the Ravens for many, many years, and have learned this: The drafts you think they've done the worst in, are the drafts they've done the best in.

    Probably the best division in football, consistently, for over a decade or 2 now. Some teams might be down, but more often than not every team is a tough loss

    I can't believe this guy who said that Broderick Jones struggled as a rookie. . .This totally discredits you as a resource in my eyes. Nothing could be further from the truth!

    watching media people like Rose try to do the mental gymnastics to defend Fields instead of just realizing he's really not that good is hilarious.

      Because they are? You guys fluked your way into the playoffs and got destroyed by the bills. You also have 2 below average qbs who won't elevate the mediocre talent you have on offense.

  • @CaptCKernel

    They declined the 5th year option on fields because its 25mil guaranteed. Simple as that.
    If he comes in during the season and does well, the incentives are the stay in Pittsburgh rather than go elsewhere. If he doesnt play the season, they can still attempt to resign to a jordan love type deal.
    Realistically, the surprise move was Najee's option not being picked up.

    • @alex.p2194

      They should’ve picked up Najee option

    • @CaptCKernel
      @CaptCKernel 4 місяці тому

      @@alex.p2194 I'm torn...I like Najee but the best thing to do is find cheap options at certain position groups to extend players of other groups.
      I think you look at value more than output at the RB position. As of today, the Steelers spend 2.8% of their salary cap on that position group. That allows them to spend more in other areas, and Warren has shown you don't need to spend a first round pick on a RB.
      I think Najee had the potential to be a QB-level locker room leader and was seen as the one to transition from Ben to the next QB...Najee did seem disinterested in that...I don't envision him resigning with Pittsburgh and I think the decision will be mutually beneficial.

    • @alex.p2194

      @@CaptCKernel sure but they definitely could have made even more money they have now to pay him. Really isnt that much for the situation he been playin, hope Najee have a great szn and get what he deserves

    • @CaptCKernel
      @CaptCKernel 4 місяці тому

      @@alex.p2194 I also want him to have a great season, I want him to get a 10mil per year contract...it's just not going to be in Pittsburgh, imo. I think that's for the best.
      When you look at our salary situation, we have so much space next year and plenty of things to shore up. I think Khan did a great job in signings/resigning/drafts to be able to hit a reset button, if needed, instead of hitting purgatory. Good chance Daniels gets resigned and Semolu gets traded or cut next off-season to make room for McCormick, Dan Moore is maybe traded as early as this off-season similar to Dotson/Green. We have the ability to move on from either Roberts and/or Holcomb, Highsmith has already been restructured...they really do have the ability to resign who they want, move on from who they don't, and have (at least to me, on paper) zero bad contracts. That's...kinda extraordinary in today's NFL

      I come to this channel only sporadically precisely because they make so many misses like that. They're too little on the info & they don't make up for it on the entertainment side of things, so when they miss on something like that it stands out.
      There's more. We've seen coaches bust, Staley, McDaniels, the OC in Philly. So when channels don't factor that in, it becomes a "why are you recording this" session. If I come away from this channel knowing something I didn't before it's because I find comments like this pointing out what they don't know. & this is a sad state of affairs.
      JM Football gang: you can do better I hope? I'll give an example. Y'all think Russ is the starter in PIT why? Because he's earned it? Or because? How does one go from seeing a team pay him tens of millions of $ to take his ineptitude away & not realize it's not a personality issue? & even if it were, how tf toxic does a personality have to be to pay a guy that much to leave & you not think it'll be a factor in his next landing spot? What's the process here?
      Russ has led the league in passes behind the LOS (line of scrimmage) for the *past five **_YEARS!_* He's no longer able to scramble in the pocket to find a vantage point from where he can see the field. As a result he either throws it away, takes sacks or throws check-downs. But he does this *over 20% of the time now!*
      If he does it even once on 1st or 2nd down it leads to 3rd & long. So the D knows a pass is coming, he's pressured & sure enough the down that he does this most on is 3rd down. So the receiver (usually Williams the RB on these check-downs) has to start behind the LOS to make all the YAC Wilson now takes yards away from.
      He Kills Drives with this.
      & there's *No Solution to it.* If he can't see the field there is nothing anyone can do.

    • @ZacheryZimmerman-uk4ti

      @ultimatechickenhorsesweat2614 Just so you know, if Fields was playing instead of Kenny last year... we lose most of those games. Kenny didn't turn the ball over. If he turned the ball over we lose all the games we won by 1 score. We lost to the Patriots by 3 because Mitch threw an INT and allowed an easy touchdown for the Patriots. Not saying Pickett is better than Fields...just saying if you take all the games we won close and had Fields with all his turnovers last year...we lose more often than not. Pickett had game winning drives and didn't turn the ball over in one possession games. Any turnover would result in a loss....Fields did that a lot with the Bears.

      @@ZacheryZimmerman-uk4ti If TOs are strictly a QB's fault then why didn't Dak lead the NFL in INTs _every_ year? How *could Sean Payton **_possibly have_* reduced Jameis Winston's INTs? So the problem with what your saying is basically that you're giving Zero Context to anything. "TOs occur when Fields plays."
      Here: how many times does a perfectly throw pass end up as an INT in just his first year? ua-cam.com/video/glpaya0xz-4/v-deo.html. Now let's compare it to his college highlights. Oh, what do you know? The same accuracy ua-cam.com/video/5JO1PsupF_U/v-deo.html *doesn't result* in INTs.
      Must be because only defenses get better in the NFL, right? & this somehow causes receivers to just throw the ball at them.
      Another thing about that last link. It's a shifting highlight reel of Fields & Caleb's 3 years in college. If you count how many passes allow the defense to make a play or should do so (I say this because more than one the defense never shows up despite the ball being floated for half an hour) Fields has two passes where if the ball was thrown 8 or so inches further, it would have been better. Caleb has over ten that miss by inches to yards.
      I've yet to see a damned thing Williams can do that Fields hasn't also done in the NFL but for some reason people only acknowledge what Fields does wrong. Even the 3-game streak where the Bears were the #1 offense before D.J. Moore got people saying "but he didn't win those games."
      How tf is that _his_ fault?
      The same way he causes Mooney to juggle the ball to defenders I guess.

    • @ZacheryZimmerman-uk4ti
      @ZacheryZimmerman-uk4ti 4 місяці тому

      @choosecarefully408 40 career games played. 30 interceptions and 38 fumbles in his career. Not all were lost. Still potentially 68 turnovers in 40 games. If Fields played in 1 score games like we did..he would lose. Check his career record out. I don't want to hear about balls bouncing off hands when you throw 30 interceptions. It's an excuse for a couple. Kenny Pickett is a worse player and somehow avoided throwing interceptions. He had 8 interceptions his rookie year and 3 of them weren't his fault. That's a major difference of having 45+ turnovers in 40 games with that potentially being 68 turnovers because Fields got lucky and the ball went out of bounds or a was recovered by his team.
