  • bottom hinge broke on our dometic rv refrigerator last week while camping at Myrtle Beach. ours is a 2004 Cardinal so I guess it lasted a good long time. I went to Lowes and bought some JB plastic weld 2 part epoxy, a piece of aluminum flat bar and a pack of stainless steel screws. I just used the point of my knife to scratch a line on the aluminum and used a hacksaw to cut it to shape. then I used a file to get all the sharp edges off. inserted a screw in the hole to keep that part lined up while I drilled the 6 screws in the door. I then used a bigger drill bit to make the holes tapered so the screws would be countersunk. took the bottom hinge off and held the door up while I reinstalled the bottom hinge. it sure is cheaper than buying a new refrigerator. part 1 of 3
