    Not using headphones on public transport is a stupid, annoying ass-headed thing to do. It's some of the most basic ass social etiquette!
    Not everyone is in the mood or frame of mind to hear your music blasting, no matter the type of music. there are people looking to start work and people coming bac and starting to decompress from being at work or appointments.
    People tend not to complain too much because of the fear of escalating people who are incredibly volatile and troubled. But to state that no one was complaining or protesting at anytime that man was existing on public transportation? That would be unrealistic. How many times someone does this shit happen (not the stabing part), and a bunch of people ask the person to stop their music or offer their own headphones to the person! I honestly think these people are looking to start shit with random people at this point, as it's a test of how tolerant any person can be when another person is asked by a majority around them to adhere to something so basic, and they ignore, feign ignorance and refuse. its about the social contracts around us and entitlement.
    chuuups. Too many people out there with such narcissistic, self-centred tendencies that they don't care about the most basic human social etiquette of keeping public spaces comfortable, and safe, on a basic level for everyone.
    Using violence is a stupid thing to do on either end, as 2 wrongs don't make a right.
    I'm 100% with him on the sense of community and looking out for one another in a community/city we live and/or work in together.

      @@WeezyWeezy-uz9us- I believe the victim or a reporter said he did ask him to turn it down (I didn't re-watch it). He didn't just start hitting the guy who was inconsiderate and playing his music. I guess the victim couldn't tolerate th noise and spoke up, which I might do, too (though I don't use TTC - I _cycle,_ a whole other can of worms).
      He said things got heated and he saw the other guy go for his pocket - where the knife was. It looked like there were lots of empty seats, so either of them could've gotten up and walked down the train. It seems the man _playing his music _*_out loud_* was wrong in doing so, but didn't care if he _bothered_ anyone else. That's selfish and rude - an attitude that's seen with increasing frequencing in public.

    TTC is shared public space; that people were not complaining , does not mean they liked it. TTC has always had rules about noise levels. The only problem here is that the victim didn't have a weapon to defend himself (mind you, carrying a weapon on the TTC is illegal). The city will only get worse if everybody turns a blind eye to the nonsense. They should lose his ass in jail. All that said , if he hit the man first, he brought the shit on himself.

      There will always be oddballs playing their music out loud in public spaces. To pick a fight over it is the definition of “fvck around and find out”. I don’t agree with how the stabber reacted, and he was already out on bail. But you should not try strangers like that. I think it’s fair to believe a lot of the silent riders were annoyed to have to deal with this loud music playing , but they were SMART ENOUGH to not make a thing out of it and look, they were correct for not confronting him. Anyone that gets on public transit playing music from their phone or a speaker are usually low-tier tbh and willing to start a problem acting all surprised that people are annoyed at them playing music out loud like that
    I completely feel like he should’ve backed off once he saw man was with the shits instead of start swinging on him “out of his best interest” like he tried to say

  • @misspoliticallyincorrect2081
    @misspoliticallyincorrect2081 Місяць тому +4

    If you live in Toronto in 2024 you know all too well what it’s like to be on public transit and be subject to another persons loud music blasting and disturbing the peace of everything in close proximity which is so insanely rude and unnecessary on their part. As more and more people come here from other countries, the etiquette, culture and values of Canadians is being completely shit on and thrown in the trash by so many of these people and their families, so I stand with this man and anyone else who takes a stand and calls people out for their bad behaviour whether they’re Canadian born or not. However in this day and age it’s so incredibly dangerous to do so because people have become so unpredictable and violent thanks to the liberals soft on crime policies combined with making drugs legal in our cities and the rising cost of living which has made things so much harder for everyone. Woke policies have absolutely destroyed our once beautiful, thriving cities and things will only get worse if we continue in this direction. I was on the platform the day this happened and I said a prayer for this dude and I am just so grateful that his life was saved and he’s alive and well today. We need every single patriotic Canadian with a backbone that we have.

  • @angiebee532
    @angiebee532 5 місяців тому +6

    The guy blasting music was the only person feeling like a genius that day. Everyone else was quietly annoyed and one person was brave enough to say something. There should be cops on every single train on every single car. You shouldn't be allowed to blast music in public spaces. Just like you can't light up a cigarette or pull down your pants. You are in public, in other people's space and cops should be able to toss you off the damn train for acting like you run the world. You're in public and you have to respect other people or people will and should confront you because there is nobody but regular civilians enforcing normal etiquette these days. It's been left in the hands of everyone else to try to make people just act normal. It's truly pathetic. If playing loud music is what they do on a train in Jamaica, move back there if it's so bloody wonderful! Don't come here and stab people who tell you to shut the hell up.

    Ps- As a white dude, I can say that the victim should have minded his own business. He could have moved, or at the very most, ask the gentleman to turn it down. If he threw the first punch, then the guy that did the stabbing was defending himself. So we got a white guy confronting a 5.4 man when the white guy is like a 6 feet tall white boy talking bout he fear shorter people plus when he swung on him he never mentioned a knife he literally was just running his mouth like white boys that get hyped off of beating up one black guy that dont know how to fight as if that's a real victory or a flex when it's not so all this I'm seeing in the comments be out the door with it cause nah this was someone literally standing other another man they dont know while putting hands on him until they felt that steel that blade now he screaming someone help someone help but no one came to help the black man when he legit was getting beat the fuck up like the only almost self defence moment was truly when the black man whipped out on the white boy who was overwhelming him and literally assaulting a man over music I've met these types of white guys they literally go out their way to start shit like they legit instigator and shit starters and they always act like they never did something wrong only when they end up losing in life smh all my life I've never had a bad experience on the ttc cause why I leave people alone cause if I did what that white guy did then about ever halfway valid thing I'd be swinging like that white boy on everyone cause remember people stare, look, talk, play music, have phone calls, accidentally brush passed or lean on other people like no cause most people done some of these things so if you feel you have to confront anyone over these things then you can complain or cry if you get the bad end of the stick smh

    Let me be clear on this. The ⬜ guy attacked first and threw 3 punches hitting the Black guy. Whatever happened after that is self defense by the Black guy as far as I am concerned. The video clip in this showing the running was EDITED to cut out the part that captures the Black guy being attacked first because the anti-Black narrative was being pushed. You can see the FULL VIDEO online with a little effort in looking.

      Additionally, if you watch the Global News interview with the guy (Derek), a construction worker (and you know how racist they are in Canada even putting nooses on the construction site to rattle Black coworkers) he admits to punching first. He literally said "I felt it was in my best interest to punch first". If that isn't the epitome of ⚪ self entitlement I don't know what is. Then to play the victim...

    Stabber was an asshole looking for a fight who's just a demon to be honest. This victim was probably playing superhero but fuck the stabber, For the record, I would never said anything to the guy with the music but it's because I'm not trying to play hero. But the blame clearly lies with the other guy.

    I agree with you...seems like the guy thought hes trying to be a hero for no reason...he could've mind his own business and move down a few seats...and for him to fight the man over playing music sounds weird to me and instigated the fight...not saying he deserved a stabbing but at the end of the day..he really did throw hands first so..what does he expect that the other guy is gonna stand there and take the punch?..aside from that i remember seeing this post on IG and now i finally know what actually happened...new sub cuz we dont really have any you tuber channels like this for toronto so im glad i came across this.

    I been to Toronto countless time and love riding the subway there. I have see crazy people on the subway(and buses) acting the same way,loud music,talking even yelling out loud on the phone all sorts, I never do anything bout that I keep it moving. Until it becomes physical for me or somebody who can't defend themselves then I'll try(emphasis on try) and help defuse the situation but no sense in making a fuss or something that bothering you that'll be over and done with in under 15mins.

    Nah keep it down on the TTC. We all are forced to take it together and no one wants to hear anyone else's shit taste of music, tiktoks, or phone conversations. Try having some basic respect for others and see how life improves. Was Derrick wrong for asking to shut the music off? No. Was he wrong for making things physical? Maybe, we can't judge without having been there

    The man should have left the Ed alone and mind your own business. He's playing music and you had to confront him over music. So tell me who's at fault? You can see he's not OK and he really took him on. Remember the media aint telling you he throw the first punch at ED and he defended himself. Derek went on like he was bigger and stronger. So Derek should have walked away and Derek should get charged also for throwing the first punch. Again please talk the truth; Derek throw the first punch

    I re-watched this on the news its weird this guy speaking to the news basically incriminated himself, he said he swung first because he "didn't feel safe". So the guy with the knife is most likely going to beat this case with self defence or get a light sentence because this guy talking to the news hit him first

    I can’t believe I took the ttc bus everyday to and from school by myself when I was 7/8 yrs old 2006 times. That’s how much safer the ttc was and the city as whole. Didn’t have a cell phone and can’t remember a time of danger where I even needed one. Now as a grown 26yr old I drive and I get sick just thinking about ever having to take the ttc again. I would need a g*n.
