Wow, looking at this has brought back some memories. I went here back in 1991 and loved the experience. Thank you for uploading it. I will have to return one day
Just been there today. Had a great experience. It's funny one of the robots was actually a real person. He looked straight at me and spoke Scandinavian. It spooked me and will be a wonderful memory. York is an exciting place too
Hubby and I were there today, Tue 22nd March 2022 and loved it! It's better to book online because if you just turn up you could be in the queue for 2 hours so booking online basically means you get to the front a lot quicker! We rode the train around the centre past the "animation androids" Viking people and animals and went to the gift shop. Only £27.00 for 2 adults and well worth every penny!
Honestly thought I remembered going here with my primary school back around 1985/86. It looks familiar, but it looks like it's in York Centre, I remember there being a lot of green land outside with a large pond (that one of my classmates down the steep embankment and only just stopped going into the pond itself). Maybe it was a Farming Museum in York we went to?
Sounds like it was somewhere different to Jorvik but sounds pretty good anyway. But definately visit York Centre and Jorvik if you get chance, it is pretty impressive
Same here. I went there with my primary school in the mid 80s too. It was an end of term treat after we’d done a whole term about Viking history. I’ve loved vikings ever seen🥰💕
I did the Jorvik tour about 1986 hasn't changed much better animatronics the guy been trying to do a poo for a very long time he was there when I did the tour
brings the viking days to life..... can imagine living in that village back in the day.😃
So authentic for sure
I went there 26 years ago with my late mum... Thanks for bringing back memories.
Our pleasure, it"s a wonderful place & I'm sure she would have been a wonderful mum

Was it possibly a place called 'Murton Park'? That's a museum near York that includes a viking farming settlement recreation
@@jamesmann8196 its possible. I'm going back almost 38 years. I've slept a lot since then. Haha

Beamish?
Do they still have all the smells while on ride? I haven't been since around 2002
They certainly do, and some are still quite horrible 😕
@Coast2Coaster makes it a much better experience though for sure?
Iv been there today on the school trips!
Hope you enjoyed it as much as we did
The people scared me the wax people I was screaming to death!
But I enjoyed it
I went there on a school trip yesterday and it stank in there 😢
I think it's supposed to have scents to take you back to the Viking age, before air con, deodarnts, and air fresheners !!
I did the Jorvik tour about 1986 hasn't changed much better animatronics the guy been trying to do a poo for a very long time he was there when I did the tour
That's probably about when we first visited, loved ot then and still do now, It's a great fun & educational attraction
i been here today with my school
Hope you enjoyed it as much as we did 👍
is the ride experience dark because I have a phobia of the dark
Darkish, but not pitch black anywhere, just kind of a mood darkness for the ambience
@Coast2Coaster would you say it's OK for year 2? You know how some kids are a bit nervous.
Me too. They have lanterns available for people who are nervous in the dark.
Was here in 1990
Time to revisit 👍
I was there in 90s ..still have the scratch n sniff post card of man not monk having a dump…I had the stamped coin but I lost it
😅 Great souvenirs !!
haha memory unlocked! i went in 1992 and totally forgot about the post card!
