TSP ERM Review - Does Your TBI Bike Need This?

- Testing the TSP ERM from @sbmotoperformance I wanted to tune out the low rpm studder the TBI bikes are known for and remapping the ECU with the tuner did this and also cleaned up the throttle response throughout the rpm range. I was also hoping for increased fuel economy but so far I'm not seeing an improvement there. Overall I'm really happy with how the bike runs now.

Yes you need it 😉 Protip: reroute the data connector so it comes out near the bars so you don’t have to remove the headlight mask to connect it.
Yeah, I don't plan on adjusting it often so left the wiring in place.
Thank you the excellent review with real demonstrated symptoms and results . I need a TSP ERM for my TBI EC300 GG. I have what feels like a lean condition at 3/4 to full throttle .I cant wait to have this amount of tuning control.
Thanks for the review ! I have my ERM, premix conversion kit and new reeds on my workbench for this weekends project on my 24 TE 250. Everything it fixed on yours is what I want to clear up on mine. Just want it smooth, it doesn’t need more power.
Yes, that's why I didn't get the head as well, I think just the ERM will accomplish what I'm looking for.
I have one on each of my TBI's. High comp heads as well. With the electric power valve, the ERM is a great tool to change the character of the bike quickly and easily.
Made a huge difference on my 24 300 xcw. I’ve noticed the fuel economy got better also.
I couldn’t stand the off-idle stutter on my 24 TE300. I got the ERM and have never regretted it. If you use the preprogrammed “leaner” option of the TSP map, your fuel economy will increase significantly (like 20%). That’s what I run and haven’t noticed any indication that it was too lean, and it runs even cleaner off the bottom and still lugs like a freight train. It only takes 15 seconds to reprogram, and if you don’t like it you can easily change it back.
My new 2025 300xcw has that. And it’s driving me crazy. Like you said. 3rd gear ok. But Vedder. Usually in 2nd while time. That studder drives me nutz. I definitely need to buy this erm.
Thanks for that. 👍🏆
Yeah, the more slow riding you do, the more noticeable it is.
Definitely need to add this to my 2024 300 XC-W. I’ve got the TSP high compression head. I kind of did my performance gain backwards without knowing. I should’ve done the TSP ERM first…. And if that wasn’t enough then done the TSP high compression head.
Yes, I felt the ERM would make the bike run how I wanted without the head and so farm I'm happy with it.
Beautiful trails & love that hi-def video! GoPro Hero11Black is it? Have u noticed less fouling of plugs and less spooge out the back with the new tune ?
DJI Action 5 Pro. GoPro is dead to me LOL. I have about 65 hours on the bike and have never fouled a plug. Spooge is minimal and looks to be about the same on the new tune.
@ I think ur getting 54-50/50*100=8% better fuel economy with the new tune which I think is significant! Thnx for sharing ur awesome vid!
Original tune average between 50-55km before fuel light came on, so no change with new tune so far.
No going back! so much more fun to ride... I routed my diag port up behind the bars for quick access... but not some big win as I've only re-mapped it twice ;)
TSP A Great Aussie company ! I think its an emissions thing for KTM need to abide by, smaller companies less bikes made do not..
I think you are right about the emissions.
My question is why do they come from the factory like that in the first place ? So the after market can make money too , not cool ktm.
I think it must be emissions related.
Great review, like being able to do back to the original tune. What do you think the splutter is ? a rich or lean condition?
It's definitely rich.
My '25 TE300 runs quite crisp without erm, but there is tons of spoog coming out of exhaust. More than any of my other tbi or tpi bikes.
Great review...do you know what the cost is to purchase additional maps?
The ERM is locked to a single bike and costs $150 AUD to transfer (requires restoring old bike to stock), or $350 AUD to reset (pair with a new bike).
did you add or plan to add the TSP power valve cover?
No.
